Clown Fish and Anemone Hosting

- Hi guys it's Erin and welcome back to my channel! Today's video is a little different than my normal videos as it is just a 30 minute compilation of my black ocellaris clown fish swimming in its green bubble tip anemone. For those of you who do not know, one popular way to get clown fish to host an anemone is to play videos of other clown fish swimming through anemones in front of the tank to help them learn what to do. It sounds crazy, but it works! I used this technique for my own fish and the next morning he was swimming in the anemone. The problem I ran across when I was trying to find videos of other clown fish is that most of them were only 1-3 minutes long so I was constantly having to hit replay over and over again. Therefore I made my own 30 minute video of my clown fish and his anemone!

I have 3 anemones and my clownfish fish pair wont host any, i think is because they are too small, so im buying one more tomorrow and definitely give this a try! Thanks the video is so satisfying to watch..lol😜

@@anthonytirado8728 no, at the time I tried this my clownfishes were too small, it did help that after the video they were looking at the anemones, I also printed images of clownfish with anemones and stick them around the tank, it kind of work since they started to suck on the tentacles, sometimes snap anemones with their tail and eventually host them, I believe it took about 3-4 weeks. Now that they are mature they can't get enough of any anemones, I have 4 anemones in my tank and they host all of them, especially the sebae anemone they love that one!. Good luck and happy reefing 🐠

@@vimallayil4422 thankfully the smallest out of the trio went into my RBTA 2 days ago and now the female has followed suit, there not hosting it permanently however it is better than nothing .... Thanks Erin for the video!
I found this vid because im acc trying to get my clowns to host nem, and will probably show them this video lol. DO you think my clowns will understand what to do, because mine are just regular ocellaris and yours is black?
