The Importance Of The River Nile in Ancient Egypt

- Опубліковано 3 лип 2020
- The river Nile was life in ancient Egypt, providing a fundamental source of water and fertile silt while simultaneously offering protection and spiritual strength.
Ancient Egyptians monitored the Nile and regulated their daily and annual activities based on its waters.

Ubisoft actually did a good job in portraying Ancient Egypt but there's some important historical inaccuracies.
"The River Nile was life in ancient Egypt" it's still life in modern-day Egypt as well as other countries. Ninety five percent of Egypt's population live along the Nile's banks.
This is why there will be water wars once Ethiopia’s dam is completed.

Hard to imagine where we’d be as a species today if the Nile never formed. It’s always seemed like one of the first oasis for modern humans
All ancient (and modern, for that matter) civilizations formed along river basins. Egypt (Nile), Mesopotamia (Tigris and Euphrates), China (Yellow and Yangtze). Fertile land near potable fresh water is solid gold real estate.

The Nile is one of only 3 rivers in the world that flows "up stream", meaning it flows south to north. The other two are: The Amazon of Brazil South America, and The Willamette of Oregon, north America, of which I live on the banks of the Willamette.
Interesting. I live in Portland, and never knew that
There are way more than 3 rivers that flow north.
Very interesting and fascinating! Thank you!

Unlike, the rivers, in Mesopotamia.
The Nile was reliable, and generally flooded the same time every year.
The river Nile is about to be cut from Egypt 😭
That's not gonna happen. Even if all the diplomatic solutions failed with Ethiopia. Their army can't stand against the Egyptians.
What are you talking about?
@I'm not flat, stop asking I am not gonna go ahead and curse or insult anyone like others, but it seems that you don't know anything about that time of history. Try to read some books instead of the internet.
@I'm not flat, stop asking actually they didn't have a chance to fight in 1967 their planes were shoot on the ground due to failure and betrayal of the leaders but after that in 1973 the Egyptian army crossed the Suez canal which was filled with hundreds of thousands of explosive mines and destroyed the barlif mountain line defense and costed the Israelis huge losses and claimed their lands again and thats all with less developed weapons compared to what Israel had and without the inference of the USA we could be talking on a whole deferent history
And the Ethiopian military now can't be compared by any means to the Egyptians their jet fighters are from the soviet era unlike the Egyptians
The problem there is that their government persuaded them that they will control the Nile and give Egypt a less share of it to punish them on the wars happened 200 years and 300 years ago like they did to somalia with another dam on a river that downstream there and the government can't step back from this or they will lose their positions and may be their lives , the hate of Egypt right now is the only thing that collects them together in a country full of different ethnic groups and tribes
