There are other versions of this radiator, 4-row. One I found on the bay of E did fit in. However, the header cover did have to be cut out at the left and right corners due to being thicker in the the tubes. The trans lines and coolant necks worked out ok on that particular fitment, on a 2000 WJ 4.7L

So really good customer service. The radiator welds look great and all the studs are welded on correctly and line up. They have even followed up with a survey. They asked if I would recommend their product to a friend, I replied "I already have". My jeep is still far from running though. I will be performing a pressure test soon.

It held up fine while I had the Jeep. I've since traded it in on a newer JK. I'll see if I can find a link for the one I bought... It's been a couple of years back.

New one for ya...04 Dakota 4.7. OEM does not mfg radiator any longer. Cooling system uses radiator without integrated trans cooler, Using the external trans cooler. Aftermarket replacement rads all seem to have integrated trans cooler whereas original does not. So, I will block off the two ports and just continue to use external trans cooler mounted on rad. finding an exact one without the integrated TC ports appear impossible.

Yeah I was all ready to send it back and then I decided that I couldn't make it look much worse and I'm going to try to modify it so it fit like it should. I've turned it into wall art for right now you may see it in some of my future videos.
Glad you saw this video before pulling the trigger on that radiator . I never sent this radiator back. I am eventually going to make all the modifications to the radiator required to get it to fit in the Jeep like it should have from the factory.
Was thinking of getting one for my Liberty ,but the tolerances your showing are horrible.Don't mind doing a small adjustment but your tanking 3/8 and 1 inch off here and there .Unless they stated modifications would be required especially having to make threads it would go back and they would pay! Good help is hard to find these days everywhere. Like the playdoe thing. use rope caulk .I would do what your doing with that Rad. only if the price was adjusted or they can well G rated take it back.Thanks for your time with these videos ,informative as well as entertaining since being in the business for ever now retired always has a place .

A lot of good points. The cheap workmanship ruined what could have been a great upgrade. I saw a video of a younger gentleman that had something similar to that with a custom fan shroud for it. But i wonder how much manipulation it required now.
Yes this could have been a great upgrade I know I spoke of returning it but I actually ended up keeping this radiator and going to make modifications to it to make it fit as it should have. Hopefully the core doesn't leak.

Very nice. I live in Brasil and i have a GC WJ 4.7 2000. The GC doesnt made here, it was imported. We have very dificult with parts because it doesnt made here, then, its hard hold ours GC in good state. Your videos help us very much, thank.
i am doing a valve job on a jeep liberty 3.7 is it a must to replace head bolts , and heard you on other videos you said some thing about upgrade for the rocker arm please advise , by the way I was going to swap the engine but after I saw your videos you give me the courage thank you for the videos
Maybe, the stock electric fans are more just to assist the clutch fan and are not made to run on their own. Now the electric fan that I have in my grand was made to run on its own and is a very powerful fan. An upgraded radiator will help a little but if it doesn't move enough air through it I think it'll still run hot especially if you do any towing.
What radiator do you recommend Martin. Long time viewer. I blew a hole in my radiator removing a sloppy fan installed by a shop mechanic. I have an 02 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7L. I'm looking at Denso Radiator, I've been told they are factory brand for WJ's. I don't have a hydrolic fan. I've got an electric fan setup but it's currently removed. I've never removed a radiator that has transmission fluid lines going into the radiator and I'm worried about losing trans fluid from a very old WJ that probably hasn't had transmission fluid services in over 150k miles. I'm afraid losing the fluid will cause gear slipping. Any tips on how to remove the transmission cooler lines, possibly plug them until I get the lines on the new radiator without losing half a quart of ATF+4. What brand Radiator do you recommend. I'm fine with a single row plastic and my budget is $180 for the radiator. I'm looking at a Denso $180, CSF $110. I want one that will last at least 3 years. Who does the best shipping with no damage during transit?

I would recommend that one way over the one that is in the video. You still may have to make some modifications to the upper support to get to fit. I take about it starting at 4:50

Hello, Martin. Have you changed your factory fan to 12 blade Ford 5.0L fan blade on your Jeep? Do you know about this? I have 4,7 with mechanical fan + electric fan. Im overheating when driving uphill with AC. Im thinking if it will help at all?

The 5.7 is a 2-core versus the 4.7's 1-core, but the 5.7 radiator has a filler neck and cap whereas my 4.7 has the cap on the expansion tank. I'm still trying to figure that out. Maybe a blank cap. Your wright, I ended up keeping it, I just got that TIG welder and soon as I feel comfortable with it I'll start hacking and welding and make it a martinbuilt radiator. I just hope the core is of good quality.
I did have it already to send back and then had to re-shoot some video, I may break out the Tig welder and make the necessary mods to get to fit. I haven't decided yet.
Coolant flows through these radiators at a higher volume rendering the fan inefficient at properly cooling the coolant, the coolant has to flow at a single core rate in order to remain in the radiator long enough for the temperature of the coolant to be lowered. I installed one of these in a ZJ Grand Cherokee and it lasted about a year and a half before the welds on the tank began to fail... total piece of crap AVOID!

I bought an aluminum radiator off of eBay as well for my '02. Mine needed modification as well but I was still running my factory fan.
How long ago did you install it and is it holding up?

they are a torque to yield bolts so I would replace them. If you have an 05 or newer 3.7 you have the upgrade rocker.

Who makes the best off brand standard radiator for the 4.7? Best in terms of build quality, fitment and non-modifying anything.
I had replaced mine with an OSC, fit perfectly.

Would an 05 GC 4.7 keep cool without the clutch fan but with the upgraded radiator and stock electric fan?

Hey Martin what’s your go to coolant brand? A couple Jeep guys say different things on the best one for the WJ.
I use this one it has H.O.A.T. in it and that is what Chrysler requires, Valvoline Zerex G-05 Antifreeze/Coolant, Ready to Use - 1 gal amzn.to/2RXX0aC

yea, I didn't have any confidence in it fitting in my JGC I wasn't going to was my time trying.
That radiator is designed for the earlier 99 to 00 models. I wonder if thats the reason you run through all those problem.
It will not make any difference what year Grand this is going in. All the issues I had you will have with a 99-00 as well.
