I found your UA-cam account searching to see if anyone else is having the same problem. I have 48 platinum trophies, about 10-15 of them are from games that I’m not proud of. I’m going to do the same thing and start a new account. I suppose it gives me an excuse to play some of my favourite games all over again l but I’ll miss some of my more difficult and time consuming platinums

With all of the variety on PS Now/PS Plus, I’ve enjoyed picking and choosing what game to play before committing. As a result, my completion rate is around 25.65% and I’m really proud of it! My goal is to keep that rate above 25% for this year. Since I’ve done this (About 100-150 trophies per percentage point), I’ve been able to clear games on my backlog and appreciate what I own instead of only looking at the games I don’t own. I still struggle with focusing but it’s been pretty rewarding. :)
My answer too that is no you shouldn’t make a new account because you’ll eventually end up in the same situation. Plus you’ll start avoiding games you probably want to play but are purposely ignoring because they have online trophies or very hard trophies and you won’t be having any fun. See for me I just don’t give a dam my trophy list is a mixture of everything. Sport games racing games shooters online games story mode games so on. There are some games on my list that will never be 100% but I had fun playing all the games.
You won’t end up in the same situation if you go in with the goal of having a 100% account and committing to it. I abandoned an account with 30 hard plats to do just that and it’s been going strong for over two years. I’ve played and enjoyed more games than I ever had before
I always like starting new accounts for each system. Like a clean slate for the generation. I’ve started 2 on the ps5. One is for my entire family and friends to play on. Lots of single trophy games. Have the ps premium subscription so kids and nephews just download and play whatever they feel like. This is on digital only ps5. Recently got a ps5 disc version and started my 2nd account that is personal to me. Astro’s Playroom was my first platinum. And starting Disco Elysium play through now. I’m not using any trophy guides for my first play through because I don’t want spoilers. I like meandering through a game and getting hung up in the twists and turns. I don’t really even look at the trophy list during the first play through. Such a fun hobby, enjoy it however it suits you.
I just decided to make a new account also to try and keep 100% game completion. For my first plat I'm going to try and do is borderlands 2 because it is my favorite game of all time.
I can relate to you man, i had an account with 39 plats but because of my greed of getting all multiplayer trophies i started a few games that i wasnt able to get the online trophies, at the time my dad went on surgery during the covid pandemic somehow he managed to survive, so i ended up with unattainable trophies in my account and my life was very chaotic at the time so i lost all the motivation to play, only 6 months later when a guy sold me a copy of Blazblue then i became motivated again and started a new account, so far i am feeling satisfied with my decision 😊.
I don’t agree with deleting them, but I do agree with hiding them Because I think the trophies should be permanent, but I do think you should be able to hide your trophies
I agree with the people that keep their old account. Mine is 13 years old. I have 5 very, very easy Platinums. I call ’em grubby Plaitnums (but Shovelware might also be suitable) and I hate seeing them on my account. I have so many unfinished games on my profile it is painful. BUT i embraced the pain and take it as a beacon of never buying and playing a game like it. I have an account with now 60% completion rate (I worked my way up from 40% - in two years). I love to polish my account. Every earned trophy makes it a little bit better. And then there is the regrets. I will never earn the PS3 Platinum for Uncharted 2 because I decided to not play 1 match in a specific mode before the servers were shut off (the servers were empty that day). The Last Of Us PS3 will forever be unfinishd because I didn’t care for multiplayer trophies back then. In 2019 I earned the Platinum for The Last Of Us Remastered as my #50. This unlocked so many things in my life as a trophy hunter. And my profile shows it. I even earned the Platinum for inFamous (PS3) this year. This game was the game with my first ever trophy. That Platinum took me 13 years to earn. My plan is to burry all the Platinums I am not proud of under a pile of Platinums I am proud of. 12 grubby Platinums are not that much. I understand that you were not happy with your old account. I share some of the pain you felt. I understand that everyone is different and has different priorities. You have a voice and you use it. I’ve been trophy hunting since 2009 I have 91 platinums at the moment and a lot of these plats are the same game earned on the PS3 , PS4 , PS5 and Vita. I have lot of very easy plats like My Name Is Mayo and Telltale games stuff like that but I also have hard plats like LOU Remaster and Uncharted 4 and Heavy Rain and Detroit and Beyond Two Souls. The old style COD Classic and Medal Of Honour Frontline are very hard on the highest difficulties. I got Cup Head which was a grind and there’s many more I also have a lot of games I know I’ll never 100% and that’s fine because I had fun playing all these games and that’s what it’s about. If people want to make a new account and just stack a number that’s cool but that’s not me I wouldn’t have any fun like that. I have 91 plats just over 5000 trophies and I’m a level 404 and there’s no shame in a easy platinum no one said earning a platinum had to be hard a platinum is a platinum the important thing is did you have fun earrings that plat. I can say I did.
For Uncharted 2 on PS3, you don't need to play online to get the Platinum. Those Online Trophies are completly separated "DLC" trophys. I have the Platinum for all 3 Games and never played any online matches.
Are you sure? Because there is a trophy called «Buddy System - Complete one Cooperative Multiplayer game. The PS4 has no Multiplayer trophies in the base list. »@@UndeadCollector
@@platinum_vault I checked it again and your total right... sry. Yeah there is one Online Trophy. I mixed it with Uncharted 3 where i never bought the Online Pass. But i actually don't know anymore that i ever played it online. Maybe because it's only one forgetable match. And i know what you mean now. Impossible Trophy (unless there is a way to open the Servers again like some Fans do with other PS3 Games)
After nearly 15 years I'm finally leaving trophy hunting. At age 45 and 212 platinums I've realized how many other games I've missed because of grinding out trophies or 2nd playthroughs. Constantly following guides or stressing about missed trophies. Also coordinating online trophies just sucked. At least now I can go into games blind, not have to worry about a 2nd playthrough or beating it on the hardest difficulty. How many games are easily attainable for the platinum without following a guide since there are endless collectibles. I'll still go for a few on games/franchises I love but I'm done. My best luck to you if you continue to trophy hunt.
I don’t mind having harder platinums mixed with easy ones. Whatever’s on the list is on the list. Part of a history you can look back at years from now
Good video, tbh. It doesn’t really matter what ppl think. When it comes to trophy hunting. Be a gamer first and hunt games you enjoy rather than a count. Cleaning up the backlog will jump the percentage up rather quickly. I’m working on my backlog this year & super close to 70%.
Dude i stumbled upon this video 'cause I'm thinking myself to make a new account, but I don't know if I should! I don't wanna do it because of what other people think of my completion percentage, I couldn't care less. It's because of my OCD! I can't stand those 1% trophy lists! I just want everything neat and clean. But at the same time I've got trophy lists on my main account like FFX REMASTERED or DEMON'S SOULS that I wouldn't want to do all over again to be honest. So I don't really know what to do! If only Sony would give us that damn option to delete trophy lists man!
The problem is that a lot of games have grindy online trophies. A lot of those older multiplayer don't age well if they are dead servers. I'm mainly grinding online trophies on the PS Vita and will likely avoid online trophies if I ever get the PS5.
Gaming should be about the experience you have of that game. And the memories whether you collect all the trophies or not. This is coming from someone who is addicted to trophies and trying to stop that addiction. I hate that I can’t just enjoy a game the way I want to because of trophies that don’t actually really matter in the grand scheme of things.

I decided to make a new account for NON platinum games. I felt it was silly to throw away all my already earned plats on my main account (5 plats and maybe 10 non-plats (I’m new to ps5, my Xbox is the equivalent of your original account)) so now I’ve got another account for just playing games, and I’ll platinum them on my main if I decide I love the game
I do think if they are going to shut down servers for games that have trophies that can only be unlocked through multiplayer I think they should just give players those trophies right as they start up the game just so it’s fair and that all the effort that players did wasn’t wasted. I know I would. I’m currently working on getting the platinum trophy in MK1 right now and have plat MKX and MK11. But sadly I will never Plat MK9 due to the servers being shut down. And I have played a lot of transformer games but will never be able to platinum those because of the shut down servers. Sony should consider lowering the amount of trophy requirements to a reasonable level. Like for example they have players play 1000 matches online but as we know that is impossible. They should lover it 100 or less as it’s very reasonable. Hopefully one day Sony realizes that shutting down servers for games that have online trophies is a bad idea and should give players those trophies right off the bat.
i see no negative in starting a new account. you can use your first account to play games just for fun and try out new games you might want to platinum, and then use the new account for games you want to 100%
When I first started trophy hunting, I played wayyy to many shovelwear games, so now I’m trying to get enough platinums to cancel out the terrible cheap ones. (Although my name is Mayo was actually funny playing with a friend over call)
Feels like this video was made for me. I decided to start over today after 168 platinums. Maybe 5 were shovelware from my early trophy hunting days trying to level up but I had too many unobtainable platinums from games i played while playing games not caring about trophies. Games i tried out and popped one trophy in... I didnt want to spend hours cleaning up. So today i started a fresh account purely for trophy hunting. And yeah... As a trophy hunter who has put more then 20000 hours into trophy hunting. If I had the shovelware of your previous account it wouldn't be that big of a burden. I think if your shovelware rate is say 100 out of 500 platinums then that isn't that bad.
Agreed, Mine is around 5% of my profile but the good thing is that I stopped doing it, I’ll never make a new account, too many memories on this one. The way I look at it, the more new games I play the further back they go.
I haven't started my trophy hunting experience yet, however I will probably not do many shuffle games (obviously Astro's Adventure doesn't count), but I don't really care what my completion rate is, and as is saw someone else on a different video, its like a personal diary, that tracks your personal Playstation experience, the good times and the bad, and with that I think I will only have one account
I’ve had my account since 2009 91 plats 5000 trophies level 404. When I look back I start to remember the time I spent on that game the time I spent for that trophy for days. It’s a list of memories for me. And when I look back on my first platinum I almost get a litle emotional. It’s stupid I know but I remember all the hard work I put in to achieve something I thought I’d never get. I don’t know when you start gaming for numbers and not game for fun. To me you are doing it wrong you’ll have easy plats and you’ll have hard plats no shame in any of it. I think a normal gamer will have those easy plats because they game they don’t care they are the ones having fun.
I still don't understand why Nintendo doesn't have a achievement or trophy 🏆 system I hate playing games without getting gamer score I got addicted to seeing it pop up

statistically it’s not smart to start a new account just for trophy hunting but you can’t stop someone from doing it but people don’t know the deep thought that goes into a major decision like starting a new account
I couldn't possibly do this with my Xbox account. That account has 10+ years of blood sweat and tears. Over 1 million gamerscore and counting. Top 1000 highest in the world. I can't just start back at 0 G. I would be devastated if I lost all of that time unlocking achievements.
I wish we could sort our trophy list. I think about creating an account so i can olay by right order... I even have rdr2 on platinum and 48 games in total on platinum... Its hard to start fresh..
I'm a trophy/achievement hunter on PC (Steam) started around a year go, luckily on here you are able to reset your trophies, I've done this to remove my trophies for games I have played over the years that have unobtainable achievements (looking at you team fortress 2/lost ark) I've kept the games that I've played previously and can platinum and have been playing mostly my backlog for the last 9 months. Managed to get my completion up to 86.2% still have a few bigger games to go through (Fallout NV, Rust, Mass Effect trilogy, Fallout 4, Shadows of Mordor) but should be getting to that 90% mark in a couple of months.
@@N1Mosesno it doesnt. Your avg. completion rate doesn't change if u remove achievements from your Account. If u say yes look again or u must have seen it wrong. Even if u 100% all ur games on ur account now. If u had games with atleast 1 achievement it will count towards ur avg completion rate even you remove the achievements from the Account
I made a new account couple weeks back but I haven’t started playing anything on it yet. I wana keep my main account to see if I can just revisit some ones I’ve played to up the percentage.
So I to have made a new account after 120 plats about 30 of them being shoveware and low completion rate games. I am currently at 73 on my new account a little over a year later and let’s say there’s games I do want to go back and play and games I just won’t ever plat again (Overwatch) 😢
For me instead of making a new account, I just hid the ones on my profile I did not feel I would ever get back to (some on ps3 that have unobtainables etc) I mean yeah they are on my console but do not show on my psnprofile or to other people, I felt like that was a better compromise for me.

Completion %age is literally useless, caring about it is a pretty weak move. Like if you start a new account or have a side account to "Test drive" games before they go onto your "main account", you need to get some fresh air fr. Trophy hunting is a fun way to tip your hat to great games.
So are you gonna re-plat the games you already played? even the really really hard ones? I just made a new account as well mainly cause some games I got bored of / some got removed from psn But games like Fall Guys/ Souls games/ Dragon ball figherz i spent so much time for their plat 😢
I know you're you feel. I have a lot of long platinums. Monster Hunter took over 500 hours for those damn crowns lol. But there are some games that people played on my account before I was a trophy hunter and will now stay there forever more. I understand why they can't introduce deleting trophies, but if you could hide trophies from yourself, this would help my OCD a lot 😂
I struggled with this for a few months myself. My main account goes back to 2007. There are many games that are incomplete and sadly I also played some shovelware. I recently created an alt account and have 8 plats and zero shovelware. Plus I am looking forward to replaying some of my favorite games and getting the plat for them again!
Personally I would never start over. I have 95 plats currently and I have hundreds of digital games purchased as well, I’m pretty sure I would lose the games if I started a new account right? But I have around like 10 games that either have shut down their online services or are games that has ridiculous online requirements that ill never finish. So the only reason I would start over would be to get rid off those so I could have a 100% completion percentage but at the end of day who really cares if you have 100% or 90% or 10%. I have 73% currently and aiming to get 90+ which I will after awhile. But yeah I could never get a 100% completion percentage which sucks since it triggers my OCD lol but at the end of the day it’s not really a big deal. Now in your case you said you had a lot of shovelware platinums and then I could see the point of doing a new account because I hate the shovelware games with a passion. I feel like they ruined trophy hunting in many ways, I don’t have any shovelware games on my list and I’ll never buy them for a thousand different reasons. So respect to you for getting rid of those shovelware games and starting over. Just because he made a new account that doesn't mean he deleted his old one. He can just log into his old one to download games to play on his new account.
You are caring too much about other people’s validation of your trophy log. When in reality no one will probably ever look at it. 😂 I hardly ever look at other people’s trophy logs. I just focus on mine which definitely includes shovelware. There were times I got lost in shovelware, but I’ve broke that and only play them once in a while. Now I try to play/play games I’m mostly interested in playing.

I am mid trophy addicted atm, I do want to get as many as I can but won’t make myself play a game in excess (I’m looking at you Hogwarts) I have however finally decided to sit down and finish a games story at least, my trophy list has skyrocketed the last year doing this. Completion rate of 16% though 😂

Why is your YT Name "EasyTrophyHunter" if you are not proud of your easy Trophies?🙃 Im one of those Platinum Hunters, without choosing the Game by there Trophies. So no "My Name is Mayo" or other BS for me. But... today i got a bugged Platinum Trophy in Bloodstained. It's should be not bugged, since other ppl got them before me a few days ago, but it's the first time having this problem, that it not pop up after getting every other trophy. Now i sit here and think about, why im even doing all this for a System that tells me, if im done, not that the Game itself already shows me 100% And nope, i will not start over because of this. I just stick with it now and avoid playing every Game to a "trophiy 100%", because at the end, most trophiey are not even fun to do(grindy or way to many playthroughs) and the only fun is, if the platinum pop.
I get this division 2 is stupid to platinum need to join clans to get few of them trophies but must people don’t play the raid anymore so no point trying to do it I hate when they have onlineserves trophies if I was gonna do platinums it would be story games like Spider-Man And Spider-Man 2 are so easy to platinum

I got Cup Head which was a grind and there’s many more I also have a lot of games I know I’ll never 100% and that’s fine because I had fun playing all these games and that’s what it’s about. If people want to make a new account and just stack a number that’s cool but that’s not me I wouldn’t have any fun like that. I have 91 plats just over 5000 trophies and I’m a level 404 and there’s no shame in a easy platinum no one said earning a platinum had to be hard a platinum is a platinum the important thing is did you have fun earrings that plat. I can say I did.
For Uncharted 2 on PS3, you don't need to play online to get the Platinum. Those Online Trophies are completly separated "DLC" trophys. I have the Platinum for all 3 Games and never played any online matches.
Are you sure? Because there is a trophy called «Buddy System - Complete one Cooperative Multiplayer game.
The PS4 has no Multiplayer trophies in the base list.

But i actually don't know anymore that i ever played it online. Maybe because it's only one forgetable match. And i know what you mean now. Impossible Trophy (unless there is a way to open the Servers again like some Fans do with other PS3 Games)

After nearly 15 years I'm finally leaving trophy hunting. At age 45 and 212 platinums I've realized how many other games I've missed because of grinding out trophies or 2nd playthroughs. Constantly following guides or stressing about missed trophies. Also coordinating online trophies just sucked. At least now I can go into games blind, not have to worry about a 2nd playthrough or beating it on the hardest difficulty. How many games are easily attainable for the platinum without following a guide since there are endless collectibles. I'll still go for a few on games/franchises I love but I'm done. My best luck to you if you continue to trophy hunt.
I don’t mind having harder platinums mixed with easy ones. Whatever’s on the list is on the list. Part of a history you can look back at years from now

The problem is that a lot of games have grindy online trophies. A lot of those older multiplayer don't age well if they are dead servers. I'm mainly grinding online trophies on the PS Vita and will likely avoid online trophies if I ever get the PS5.
Gaming should be about the experience you have of that game. And the memories whether you collect all the trophies or not. This is coming from someone who is addicted to trophies and trying to stop that addiction. I hate that I can’t just enjoy a game the way I want to because of trophies that don’t actually really matter in the grand scheme of things.

I decided to make a new account for NON platinum games. I felt it was silly to throw away all my already earned plats on my main account (5 plats and maybe 10 non-plats (I’m new to ps5, my Xbox is the equivalent of your original account)) so now I’ve got another account for just playing games, and I’ll platinum them on my main if I decide I love the game
I do think if they are going to shut down servers for games that have trophies that can only be unlocked through multiplayer I think they should just give players those trophies right as they start up the game just so it’s fair and that all the effort that players did wasn’t wasted. I know I would. I’m currently working on getting the platinum trophy in MK1 right now and have plat MKX and MK11. But sadly I will never Plat MK9 due to the servers being shut down. And I have played a lot of transformer games but will never be able to platinum those because of the shut down servers. Sony should consider lowering the amount of trophy requirements to a reasonable level. Like for example they have players play 1000 matches online but as we know that is impossible. They should lover it 100 or less as it’s very reasonable. Hopefully one day Sony realizes that shutting down servers for games that have online trophies is a bad idea and should give players those trophies right off the bat.
i see no negative in starting a new account. you can use your first account to play games just for fun and try out new games you might want to platinum, and then use the new account for games you want to 100%
When I first started trophy hunting, I played wayyy to many shovelwear games, so now I’m trying to get enough platinums to cancel out the terrible cheap ones. (Although my name is Mayo was actually funny playing with a friend over call)
Feels like this video was made for me. I decided to start over today after 168 platinums. Maybe 5 were shovelware from my early trophy hunting days trying to level up but I had too many unobtainable platinums from games i played while playing games not caring about trophies. Games i tried out and popped one trophy in... I didnt want to spend hours cleaning up. So today i started a fresh account purely for trophy hunting. And yeah... As a trophy hunter who has put more then 20000 hours into trophy hunting. If I had the shovelware of your previous account it wouldn't be that big of a burden. I think if your shovelware rate is say 100 out of 500 platinums then that isn't that bad.

I’ve had my account since 2009 91 plats 5000 trophies level 404. When I look back I start to remember the time I spent on that game the time I spent for that trophy for days. It’s a list of memories for me. And when I look back on my first platinum I almost get a litle emotional. It’s stupid I know but I remember all the hard work I put in to achieve something I thought I’d never get. I don’t know when you start gaming for numbers and not game for fun. To me you are doing it wrong you’ll have easy plats and you’ll have hard plats no shame in any of it. I think a normal gamer will have those easy plats because they game they don’t care they are the ones having fun.

I couldn't possibly do this with my Xbox account. That account has 10+ years of blood sweat and tears. Over 1 million gamerscore and counting. Top 1000 highest in the world. I can't just start back at 0 G. I would be devastated if I lost all of that time unlocking achievements.

I'm a trophy/achievement hunter on PC (Steam) started around a year go, luckily on here you are able to reset your trophies, I've done this to remove my trophies for games I have played over the years that have unobtainable achievements (looking at you team fortress 2/lost ark) I've kept the games that I've played previously and can platinum and have been playing mostly my backlog for the last 9 months. Managed to get my completion up to 86.2% still have a few bigger games to go through (Fallout NV, Rust, Mass Effect trilogy, Fallout 4, Shadows of Mordor) but should be getting to that 90% mark in a couple of months.
That sounds so nice, to be able to remove trophies.

Even if u 100% all ur games on ur account now. If u had games with atleast 1 achievement it will count towards ur avg completion rate even you remove the achievements from the Account

Just made a new psn account to get platinum trophies. First one I'll do is the first spidrrman game from 2018
So I to have made a new account after 120 plats about 30 of them being shoveware and low completion rate games. I am currently at 73 on my new account a little over a year later and let’s say there’s games I do want to go back and play and games I just won’t ever plat again (Overwatch) 😢

I understand why they can't introduce deleting trophies, but if you could hide trophies from yourself, this would help my OCD a lot 😂
I struggled with this for a few months myself. My main account goes back to 2007. There are many games that are incomplete and sadly I also played some shovelware. I recently created an alt account and have 8 plats and zero shovelware. Plus I am looking forward to replaying some of my favorite games and getting the plat for them again!
Personally I would never start over. I have 95 plats currently and I have hundreds of digital games purchased as well, I’m pretty sure I would lose the games if I started a new account right?
But I have around like 10 games that either have shut down their online services or are games that has ridiculous online requirements that ill never finish. So the only reason I would start over would be to get rid off those so I could have a 100% completion percentage but at the end of day who really cares if you have 100% or 90% or 10%. I have 73% currently and aiming to get 90+ which I will after awhile. But yeah I could never get a 100% completion percentage which sucks since it triggers my OCD lol but at the end of the day it’s not really a big deal.
Now in your case you said you had a lot of shovelware platinums and then I could see the point of doing a new account because I hate the shovelware games with a passion. I feel like they ruined trophy hunting in many ways, I don’t have any shovelware games on my list and I’ll never buy them for a thousand different reasons. You are caring too much about other people’s validation of your trophy log. When in reality no one will probably ever look at it. 😂 I hardly ever look at other people’s trophy logs. I just focus on mine which definitely includes shovelware. There were times I got lost in shovelware, but I’ve broke that and only play them once in a while. Now I try to play/play games I’m mostly interested in playing.

Im one of those Platinum Hunters, without choosing the Game by there Trophies. So no "My Name is Mayo" or other BS for me.
But... today i got a bugged Platinum Trophy in Bloodstained. It's should be not bugged, since other ppl got them before me a few days ago, but it's the first time having this problem, that it not pop up after getting every other trophy.
Now i sit here and think about, why im even doing all this for a System that tells me, if im done, not that the Game itself already shows me 100%
And nope, i will not start over because of this. I just stick with it now and avoid playing every Game to a "trophiy 100%", because at the end, most trophiey are not even fun to do(grindy or way to many playthroughs) and the only fun is, if the platinum pop.
