this change, if i read correctly, will only make things worse (?) lowering the initial bet from 10 to 1 (normal snap) will make you have to play waaaaaay more to climb the initial levels

But lowering the first table just creates that much more of a gap to the next table. I think the bub number is fine. Honestly they should just allow it to be like Conquest where you have a "Proving Grounds". Create a new tier below Cereal that's free to join at that reduced normal snap rate so that you can either A) Wait the time to regen or B) Play the free "plate" until you get enough to play the Cereal plate. Being completely pushed out of participating in the event (until regen) is the worst part about losing when you just want to play more. So if they do have a reduced rate I hope its in a free tier like what I described.
A free table is the most reasonable and excellent idea, man. SD should look into it. I mean waiting sucks man. u want people to play your game, not wait for a bubs refill or buy some gold (mind you, F2P do exist).
My biggest issue is that it doesn't really FEEL like anything new. It's just another way of playing against the same meta decks you see on ladder all day.
At this point, events are made for whales and content creators who will shill out hundreds of dollars. Then those content creators can say shit like "this isn't right" for clout while at the same time they commit hundreds if not thousands of dollars to the problem.
He probably tells himself he has to because he's a content creator for the sake of bringing out a video about Cassandra but honestly he plays enough to where he would get it much earlier than most players anyways so there really was no reason for him to blow cash on getting it early. I mean it's a 2 week long event. It's not meant to be rushed through in the first day lol.
Yeah the bub regeneration accelerates pretty quickly from low rewards on the track. I didn't even notice any slow regeneration. It takes just an hour for mine
The fact they didn't account for lower levels losses and the refresh rate of bubs at the starting point makes me think that they did not calculate this into the ability to get Cass Nova, so it could be more likely that casual players will *not* be able to get her. How could they calculate that if they already, on the first day, have such an obvious oversight like that.
I think it's extremely likely that they are going to massively turn up the rate of Bubs gain at some point in the event to save face. This will be a player retention disaster area unless most regular players get a Cassandra.

Deadpool's Diner is AMAZING! I'm actually getting constant rewards since you keep everything combined so you don't actually lose anything and it's almost like a mini battle pass or something, and not like conquest. I'm already close to getting Cassandra Nova and getting a new card just from playing naturally even after losing multiple times is great!😁❤️
It's not hard. I'm already close and only had like 300 gold to refresh the lowest one a couple times and I still lose constantly. I'm getting close to Cassandra I think. It's a great mode with easy rewards even if you lose

I mean, the game mode auto snaps on turn 4. What did they expect? For people to leave after turn 4 or 5 after 1 or 2 auto snaps? You essentially committed them to staying when you have the auto snap mechanic because naturally we're going to try protect those bubs. Even though yes more people should learn to retreat even after a snap, 1 loss shouldn't just lock you out from playing the event unless you pay. That's fucking brain dead. Lol. It's an event, you should want your players playing it as long as possible. There's zero reason the first tier isn't the same as proving grounds in Conquest.
I was having fun with it for a few games but then lost all my bubs in one game and couldn't play anymore until I paid or waited. They need some way to play with just a small amount of bubs or something like that...
Won a game, got some Bubs. Moved up a rank, played a game, by turn 5 realized I wasn’t going to win and retreated. Lost more than half my bubs, and now I just get to sit here for hours waiting until I can play again. So, even if you try to be careful a little bad luck will still totally screw you over.
Yeah, I lost a 5k Bubs game to an Arishem who had their Makkari (first bit of luck) go to the only one of three lanes, all with open spots, that would win for them. Then that's bye bye stew on your bad beats loss, you can't play for hours. It doesn't really work.
Yea. It feels bad. And if you have limited time, and get hit with the 60min CD timer they are banking on you spending money to get back in there. It’s insidious. And it mirrors the vast majority of mobile game business models. HARD PASS

This mode would probably be a lot less hated if you had a month to grind 15 million Bubz. But two weeks at the end of the month, being able to instantly loose a day of progress for the audacity of loosing your first game, and feeling like it just wants to suck more dollars out of your pocket really paint this as a lazy cash grab, especially for casual players.
This isn’t close to accurate. I went bust on bubs 3 times already since 4 pm yesterday. “Lose an entire days progress with one loss” 1) don’t bet all your bubs and then lose 2) you refill them WAY faster then that
First game should not be all in. Just like poker, high stakes you can go all in at any time. But there are also tables where you can only bet up to a certain point that guarantee you won’t lose all your money on one hand
The just need a free entry mode like Proving Grounds. Lower the rate to max maybe 10-20 bubs a game but free entry. 8-4 game wins to go into Cereal ontop of the passive regen. That would at least be better than what we have now.

They should fucking ban Marvel Snap until they get rid of the gambling. Its a slot machine pretending to be a poker table advertised as a strategy CCG. Its a joke.
this game was designed to have a retreat mechanic instead of a mulligan mechanic like most card games to deal wih a bad opening hand but this mode fundamentally breaks that mechanic's balance. just like any casino the house always wins.
Non-gold tips. The first goal is to get to 750 bubs for first Bub refill upgrade. At 500 Bubs, there is a 150 Bubs reward in the collection track, do not redeem this reward unless at 600+ Bubs. As there is the failsafe/rebuy of 150 free Bubs, play at the highest plate available. Losing this game will likely result in being Bubless and the 150 Bubs can be redeemed in the collection track to continue the grind. Employee a similar strategy to get to 1800 for 2nd Bub refill upgrade and 7500 for the 3rd and final bub refill upgrade. The 2nd refill upgrade rate is ~600 bubs per hour and the third is ~1000 bubs per hour. There are Free Bubs in the collection track at 1000 and 5000. After the last Bub refill is obtained, freeroll the highest plate level until all bubs are lost or the 5.12 plate level is unlocked. When at the 5.12K plate level aka Dumpling, if a game is lost then a 6+ hour Deadpool Diner break has to be observed. If the game is won, a more conservative Bub grind can begin to unlock higher plate levels and ultimately Cassandra Nova. There are more Bubs at 200K on the collection track.
Agree completely with issue, Cozy! Did exactly what you said and haven't played another game since. If there was a "loser" table that awarded wins with say, 10 bubs, I would have kept playing. Call your buddies at Second Dinner and push that patch through!
The mode's stakes are so high that it feels only high win rate decks work, where as conquest and ranked would allow for high cube rate decks. It feels more restrictive because of this. I have a really limited collection that I've been able to make work with knowledge of when to leave...with the constant automatic snapping it feels like I can't retreat in any of my games
@@shady-mx9qg After turns 1-3 you're supposed to know who will win? After turn 4, the start of turn 5, sure. But "on turn 4" there is an automatic snap and your opponent might have snapped as well, assuming they are using a high win, low cube rate deck. That's two snaps with very limited information. It's safer for those types of decks to snap in that situation which is my problem, as I said, it's restrictive because there is no benefit to playing risky decks
@@Covaxe well… yes. by the nd of turn 3 it is obvious who has curved out better and has more points on the board. does that mean you automatically lose? no. but you should consider retreating ESPECIALLY if there are 2 snaps happening. on thrn 4 the automatic snap hasnt actually occured until you play your cards. if you are behind on tempo and have a solid gameplan (tribunal for instance might encounter many games like this) then you can confidently stay on the automatic snap. if your oppenent snaps as well, then they are likley excited about their future plays and you should really consider what disruption they may have available. basically, you can often see who is more likley to win by turn 4 and can gauge how much you are willing to bet or just leave. the first automatic snap isnt the end of all your bubs you can still leave. another snap after that is a big investment but still you can leave and know you have more bubs for it.
I almost lost 1.26 k bubs on my opponents venom play somehow he made a carnage eat up his venom on his grand Master play and opened up my left lane from losing and turned his venom into a carnage eat fest and turned me losing left and right lanes to middle and left lane won and I was convinced I lost but got the win on both of us snapping
The pancake mode should have no restrictions and give you a minimum amount of bubs rather than making you wait to refill. There's no reason aside from forcing players to spend the refill due to FOMO for them to implement this. Great mode spot by mobile money making mechanics
Wooof. No, this is just plain wrong. You aren’t forced, into betting your entire budget, on one game. That’s your call. It only takes a few hours to fully refill the bar in the beginning. Wait your hour, log in, lose again, you get credit for the “refill”
I kind of wish they made the bubs betting more like actual Poker chips. Let me choose the amount I want to up the ante with the max being tied to the table. So with Cereal you can bet as much bubs as you want up to a max of 80. If I raise/snap by 40, the opponent chooses to match it or raise to any number between 40-80. Each "auto snap" just raises it at a set amount based on the max bet of that plate/table. It kind of sucks when early plates you can't even retreat because that would still put you at a loss big enough that you can't go back in.
Played one game, lost due to something surprising I couldn't predict. Now I can't play. GOOD GAME MODE SECOND DINNER! They clearly expect people to just dump gold into this game. That's the entire point. This is a gold farm for them. Spend money. Buy gold. Lose bubs. Spend gold. Repeat. That's the entire reason this mode exists. Greedy company gets even greedier.

I didn't think it was possible for SD to release a worse game mode than conquest, but they proved me wrong. I just hope we don't have to wait for too long for Cassandra Nova to be available with tokens.
Blown away that this wasn’t popular. I thought it was a ton of fun and was a great option to play in addition to conquest and the ladder. I hope the pushback won’t discourage them from trying things like this in the future, I’d love to see them explore more variations like this!
I hope the next time they release a new game mode, it's actually something fun and not as anger inducing as this. I would love a draft esque mode or maybe modes with unique rulesets (e.g., all locations are mojoworld or all decks have the Mr Negative effect activated at start of game).
Agreed on this 8 hour wait time. I was snapping without thinking the first match, lost, and well I had to wait 8 hours to restock. Thank goodness it was bedtime, so that was the game's way of telling me to go to bed, lol. Still, I do appreciate lots of rewards as you play.
Gambling is an inherently irrational thing (you know the odds are against you but you play anyway.) People susceptible to irrational thinking are also susceptible to get irrationally angry when things don't go their way. I don't think gambling is morally wrong per se, but when it takes advantage of vulnerable people there are predictable outcomes because of that, resentment and anger, and it is even worse when you literally, literally exponentially multiply how bad it feels to lose like they do in the Diner. The asking for gold pop up only makes it worse because at that point is basically is just gambling money which is awful.

Pretty much the first fundamental thing you learn in game theory is that gambling is not irrational because the value people get from it is not solely decided by the money component but also the joy of winning or just the thrill to lose it all. For many that is worth even more than money. And that's even more true in a game like this where it is not a random lottery but requires heavy player input Some would say it's irrational to just do something if you get a projected profit out of something because there is no joy in it, everything depends on the individual. Gambling only is irrational if you are an artificial machine created by your puppet master to create profit, that's true. For 200 years people have not uttered this nonsense and you pump this out like it's nothing lol.

Second Dinner putting a "No Bubs? :( Here, just spend a wittle gold to get back at it, Tiger!" pop-up everytime you lose big is the second thing, and it is harmful and predatory. Obfuscating the money behind three layers of digital currency only serves to make those people with gambling issues more vulnerable, and makes it so people who otherwise wouldn't be susceptible more likely to engage with it. Why are you here defending the honor of gambling, something known to have dangerous outcomes? I believe that just like most vices, it is up to people to decide if they want to engage with it, if it brings them more pleasure than harm, but I also think that the peddlers have a responsibility not to create systems that prey on vulnerable people, and should be held responsible for exploitative practices that take advantage of people.
Am I right that each table costs twice as many bubs as the previous one? If so, simple strategy to push high but always be able to keep playing: play every match on the table right below the highest one you can afford. This way you're never spending more than half your bubs at once, but you can keep pushing up higher when you're winning without having to drop too far if you lose.
There is a hidden meal. After I bottom up, I able to play with just 10 buds and build it from there. After I accumulate enough buds, that menu is disappeared
Strategy I found to work was to always go one table below your highest table.This way, if you loose, you won’t loose everything.Sure it’s slower but I thinks it’s worth it.However I do have to agree with the majority and say this mode gets your hopes up just to crush it.Honestly I think I’ll just get Cassandra and then not play this mode
My best advice for this gamemode if you don't want it to feel bad: ALWAYS play at your second highest table, NEVER at the highest. And if you really want to get the rewards fast, play a deck that let you know if you should retreat on turn 3 or 4 or snap and stay (the first one and best one that comes to my mind is mister negative, you have him on turn 3 or 4: snap, you don't: retreat on 3 or 4 max) As a player that mostly do dailies and play some games here and there, sometimes not everyday, Snap already felt bad if you wanted to get most of the ressources you can get in a month. I play decks that I enjoy, not meta decks so I get to infinite 2 or 3 weeks after the beginning of the season (I've been playing a galactus/Arishem since he's out and probably won't play anything else for a while) Then I have to farm conquest to get the gold/credit/variants, and that takes me most of the end of the month. So having to play a 3rd mode to get a card and some other free ressources makes me feel like I don't have enough time. And yes it's FOMO, but a free card is like the best ressource in this game, it's like a targeted spotlight key or 6k tokens. It's 50$ in SD prices. I like events where you only have to play the game as you always do and get some small rewards, like some extra daillies. Not a reskinned conquest that prey on your FOMO and wallet.
My main complaint is the auto snap/increasing of bubs. This forces you to only play decks that are high win rate. Those decks that are surprise decks which can be low win rate high cube rate in ladder just DO NOT work well here. A major upgrade would be: Allow players to snap on each turn to increase the bubs wagered rather than auto snapping to increase. This totally changes the dynamic and rewards skill while maintaining the casino/poker wager mechanic.
Within the first three hours I fought someone with the Cassandra variant! Couldn't believe it. But overall the game mode is fun especially if you've already hit Infinite and find Conquest a drag.
Gambling addict here, the number 1 thing to remember is DO NOT CHASE YOUR LOSES. When you lose a lot of bubs or money do not immediately follow that up with more money or bubs. The more bubs or money you lose the more desperate you will feel to get it back, either by spending money you shouldn’t or making bad decisions or taking bigger risks. The best thing you can do is walk away for a little bit and calm down then get back into it. Remember this is just a game and don’t lose your cool!
For anyone wondering, the bub refresh rate upgrades will upgrade your refill max to the amount of lifetime bubs it took to get that upgrade. The refresh is always 1/8th of your refill max per hour. Once you get up to the first upgrade, it will at most take an hour to get you into a round of Cereal if you lose all your bubs.
Dera spent 8000+ gold in a matter of first 30 mins in the game mode. He was shocked when chat spoke about his cumulative expenditure in the game mode. I only watched for 30 mins, no idea how much he spent later on

It is mind boggling that if you lose your first game, you’re done for an hour. No idea how that got through testing. It should be where there always a table you can play at to get a few more.
I'm disappointed your review was this positive honestly. You're good at the game so you probably won't have problems with the high stakes and those rewards are easily obtainable to you. Put yourself in regular folks shoes.
Feels like (another) inefficient way to use your playing time imo, I mean you can get all the non-filler rewards playing ladder and without the annoying auto-snapping (what's up with the snapping nonchalance? h-bob and now this?)... they should keep focusing on improving the main game instead of spending resources on dev's quirks, like they did with ACTIVATE, now that's something cool that makes me like the game more and will for sure increase my playing time, awesome job with that.
A) They needed to have quicker energy regen and a guaranteed base that at least lets people play. I get they want to sell gold for Bubs refreshes but they really should have just put this game mode down as player retention to keep the other money ticking in, not an all new way to chisel for money. B) it's really poor that they pop up "you're out of Bubs, why not pay gold for more" messages when people aren't out of Bubs, just don't have enough for their current table. This should have been picked up in 5 seconds by QA so it's either awful QA or a really squirrelly decision to keep in the misleading begging question. I think the hardest thing playtesting this mode is simply that no playtester can duplicate the real mentality people will have when real rewards and time sunk are on the line. And playtesters wouldn't have had to wait to dive back in after zeroing out either.
I'm sure it's difficult to critique things and say your full experience/opinion. As a newer player facing CL 10k+ players as a 2-3k CL player is madness... Add onto that auto "snaps" and waiting hours to even play a single game again and this game mode feels not only Pay2Win but as if it was tailored for those with mostly completed sets. The very limited to no Cl based matchmaking while some spend gold to endlessly VS bots and retreat VS players on the high stakes tables (which people are streaming/including on Marvel Snaps discord) with 500million+ bubs While getting stomped for my 4th game of the event hours and hours after it started where I am vsing JunkHawk with all the cards and I'm playing a S2/S3 ongoing deck is inane. Teching in enchantress, shang-chi etc is good, but so 1 dimensional in the decks that are out there and often straight out overpowered by cards with far better energy to power ratios WHILE also including additional beneficial effects... Why didn't they include similar CL break points? the notion of it being for queue time is insane... did they think no one would play the new mode? is that what their apparent testing resulted in?
I'm a mediocre player and I reached 90k bubs. Big win for me. I expect to complete by Aug 6. Don't see a problem with Diner. Note: I pushed my luck and lost all my bubs, was so fun tho.
i didn't know anything about this mode before entering and when i started i instantly realized the danger of starting off with pancakes, as losing would lead to having only 80 bubs (i didn't realize at the time but it would actually be 0 bubs if either player snapped) and they start you off on pancakes by default??? edit: don't worry guys i switched to cereal for my first game and won with a snap, and am currently at 80k bubs
The big problem with Deadpool’s Diner is that it tries to stop you playing the game. Obviously you get timed out when out of bubs. But even when you do play, you’re heavily incentivised to retreat early if things aren’t going your way rather than, you know, ACTUALLY PLAYING YOUR CARDS! The reward track is nice, but the mode itself is unfun and boring.
Anyone else have this issue? My bubs do not refresh anymore, the timer was on last night now as of this morning timer disappeared and I am stuck at 30 bubs. Can’t play without being forced to spend gold. Great job SD you monetization of this awesome mode is garbage!
They really dropped the ball on this could've been done way better, these past couple of months have been going in a downhill, we might be starting to see the death of this game.
I suggest watching the video Marvel snap posted in their news feed about the diner.. then test out your best deck against conquest a few times before taking it to deadpool diner.. I got as high as Pizza before making a bad move and losing a lot.. 😅 Though I think it's quite possible to keep moving up just wish we had more than 2 weeks 😕 should've been the whole month 😕
Funnily enough, in the first game I ever played with Copycat, she stole the opponent's Copycat! And in the second game, she stole Infinaut (from an Arishem deck)...
Auto-snapping is meant to knock you back more than push you forward. Doesn't feel like a 50/50 split, because if you're only kind of winning, you retreat, you lose more than you took to move up the ranks in the first place. Maybe auto snap on just the final turn or something I don't know. Also, like you talked about - the cost of entry locks players out also, and that's.. so counter-intuitive and anti-consumer? And is it true you get more bubs regenerated faster the higher you are in the ranks? Shouldn't it be the opposite so you people can.. play the game? Not saying all this to be a hater, I am enjoying my experience with it, it's a fresh idea and I want more of these new ways to experience the game. I just think its got some quirks to be ironed out and made accessible and it'll be golden.
Have only gotten to play three matches all day because I can’t accumulate enough to not lose them all just in one game because it automatically raises the stakes
At this point, I'm convinced that Second Dinner purposely releases bad content, so they can swoop in with a content patch to make us think that they're listening and that the changes are awesome.
Sorry for my bad english in advance….I had a lot of luck and i won with basic sauron deck in 10 games in a row and i collected bubs vary fast, now im on point that i get 600k bubs per 8hr, im on 3.5mil bubs so mathematically i now need to lose every game and replenish those bubs and i easily get cassandra nova base version at least, so moral of the story is dont rush and you will get on this point like me and you will tehnically finish event
And dont think im a whale or something, im on cl 3500, without a lot of s3,s4,s5 cards, but when i got to a larger meals i started to play against bots and i farmed on them
if you played it very early (like first win 5 minutes after release, then second win right after) your were most likely facing bots from third game onwards
I've been playing since global release, reached multiple infinite seasons, have 2 infinity borders. And I lost my 1st game just trying out the Bud snap mechanic and the game is asking me for 700 gold to play again??? CMON SECOND DINNER. At least give new players a "Recharge token" or something.
the way they designed this kinda feels like a slap in the face i'm really not enjoying it in its current iteration as I've only been able to play 3 games
The only reason I play this mobile game is because it doesn't have some bs energy system limiting how much I can play. So glad they think that's what the game has been missing.

I thought so too but I haven't gotten any bubs since I lost my first game and I plated almost immediately when the game mode came out

Yeah the bub regeneration accelerates pretty quickly from low rewards on the track. I didn't even notice any slow regeneration. It takes just an hour for mine

The fact they didn't account for lower levels losses and the refresh rate of bubs at the starting point makes me think that they did not calculate this into the ability to get Cass Nova, so it could be more likely that casual players will *not* be able to get her. How could they calculate that if they already, on the first day, have such an obvious oversight like that.

I think it's extremely likely that they are going to massively turn up the rate of Bubs gain at some point in the event to save face. This will be a player retention disaster area unless most regular players get a Cassandra.

Deadpool's Diner is AMAZING! I'm actually getting constant rewards since you keep everything combined so you don't actually lose anything and it's almost like a mini battle pass or something, and not like conquest. I'm already close to getting Cassandra Nova and getting a new card just from playing naturally even after losing multiple times is great!😁❤️
It's not hard. I'm already close and only had like 300 gold to refresh the lowest one a couple times and I still lose constantly. I'm getting close to Cassandra I think. It's a great mode with easy rewards even if you lose

I mean, the game mode auto snaps on turn 4. What did they expect? For people to leave after turn 4 or 5 after 1 or 2 auto snaps? You essentially committed them to staying when you have the auto snap mechanic because naturally we're going to try protect those bubs. Even though yes more people should learn to retreat even after a snap, 1 loss shouldn't just lock you out from playing the event unless you pay. That's fucking brain dead. Lol. It's an event, you should want your players playing it as long as possible. There's zero reason the first tier isn't the same as proving grounds in Conquest.
I was having fun with it for a few games but then lost all my bubs in one game and couldn't play anymore until I paid or waited. They need some way to play with just a small amount of bubs or something like that...
Thats exactly the case, when you have 1000 bubs you can spam 80 bubs game and slowly grow instead of putting everything on a higher stake table.

Lost more than half my bubs, and now I just get to sit here for hours waiting until I can play again. So, even if you try to be careful a little bad luck will still totally screw you over.
Yeah, I lost a 5k Bubs game to an Arishem who had their Makkari (first bit of luck) go to the only one of three lanes, all with open spots, that would win for them. Then that's bye bye stew on your bad beats loss, you can't play for hours. It doesn't really work.

This mode would probably be a lot less hated if you had a month to grind 15 million Bubz. But two weeks at the end of the month, being able to instantly loose a day of progress for the audacity of loosing your first game, and feeling like it just wants to suck more dollars out of your pocket really paint this as a lazy cash grab, especially for casual players.

The just need a free entry mode like Proving Grounds. Lower the rate to max maybe 10-20 bubs a game but free entry. 8-4 game wins to go into Cereal ontop of the passive regen. That would at least be better than what we have now.

this game was designed to have a retreat mechanic instead of a mulligan mechanic like most card games to deal wih a bad opening hand but this mode fundamentally breaks that mechanic's balance. just like any casino the house always wins.

Non-gold tips. The first goal is to get to 750 bubs for first Bub refill upgrade. At 500 Bubs, there is a 150 Bubs reward in the collection track, do not redeem this reward unless at 600+ Bubs. As there is the failsafe/rebuy of 150 free Bubs, play at the highest plate available. Losing this game will likely result in being Bubless and the 150 Bubs can be redeemed in the collection track to continue the grind.
Employee a similar strategy to get to 1800 for 2nd Bub refill upgrade and 7500 for the 3rd and final bub refill upgrade. The 2nd refill upgrade rate is ~600 bubs per hour and the third is ~1000 bubs per hour. There are Free Bubs in the collection track at 1000 and 5000.
After the last Bub refill is obtained, freeroll the highest plate level until all bubs are lost or the 5.12 plate level is unlocked. When at the 5.12K plate level aka Dumpling, if a game is lost then a 6+ hour Deadpool Diner break has to be observed. If the game is won, a more conservative Bub grind can begin to unlock higher plate levels and ultimately Cassandra Nova. There are more Bubs at 200K on the collection track.
Agree completely with issue, Cozy! Did exactly what you said and haven't played another game since. If there was a "loser" table that awarded wins with say, 10 bubs, I would have kept playing. Call your buddies at Second Dinner and push that patch through!
The mode's stakes are so high that it feels only high win rate decks work, where as conquest and ranked would allow for high cube rate decks. It feels more restrictive because of this.
I have a really limited collection that I've been able to make work with knowledge of when to leave...with the constant automatic snapping it feels like I can't retreat in any of my games
why? on turn 4 you should have a decent idea of who has momentum.

But "on turn 4" there is an automatic snap and your opponent might have snapped as well, assuming they are using a high win, low cube rate deck. That's two snaps with very limited information. It's safer for those types of decks to snap in that situation which is my problem, as I said, it's restrictive because there is no benefit to playing risky decks
@@Covaxe well… yes. by the nd of turn 3 it is obvious who has curved out better and has more points on the board. does that mean you automatically lose? no. but you should consider retreating ESPECIALLY if there are 2 snaps happening. on thrn 4 the automatic snap hasnt actually occured until you play your cards. if you are behind on tempo and have a solid gameplan (tribunal for instance might encounter many games like this) then you can confidently stay on the automatic snap. if your oppenent snaps as well, then they are likley excited about their future plays and you should really consider what disruption they may have available. basically, you can often see who is more likley to win by turn 4 and can gauge how much you are willing to bet or just leave. the first automatic snap isnt the end of all your bubs you can still leave. another snap after that is a big investment but still you can leave and know you have more bubs for it.

The pancake mode should have no restrictions and give you a minimum amount of bubs rather than making you wait to refill. There's no reason aside from forcing players to spend the refill due to FOMO for them to implement this. Great mode spot by mobile money making mechanics

It only takes a few hours to fully refill the bar in the beginning. Wait your hour, log in, lose again, you get credit for the “refill”
I kind of wish they made the bubs betting more like actual Poker chips. Let me choose the amount I want to up the ante with the max being tied to the table. So with Cereal you can bet as much bubs as you want up to a max of 80. If I raise/snap by 40, the opponent chooses to match it or raise to any number between 40-80. Each "auto snap" just raises it at a set amount based on the max bet of that plate/table.
It kind of sucks when early plates you can't even retreat because that would still put you at a loss big enough that you can't go back in.
Played one game, lost due to something surprising I couldn't predict. Now I can't play. GOOD GAME MODE SECOND DINNER! They clearly expect people to just dump gold into this game. That's the entire point. This is a gold farm for them. Spend money. Buy gold. Lose bubs. Spend gold. Repeat. That's the entire reason this mode exists. Greedy company gets even greedier.

I hope the next time they release a new game mode, it's actually something fun and not as anger inducing as this. I would love a draft esque mode or maybe modes with unique rulesets (e.g., all locations are mojoworld or all decks have the Mr Negative effect activated at start of game).

Agreed on this 8 hour wait time. I was snapping without thinking the first match, lost, and well I had to wait 8 hours to restock. Thank goodness it was bedtime, so that was the game's way of telling me to go to bed, lol.

Gambling is an inherently irrational thing (you know the odds are against you but you play anyway.) People susceptible to irrational thinking are also susceptible to get irrationally angry when things don't go their way. I don't think gambling is morally wrong per se, but when it takes advantage of vulnerable people there are predictable outcomes because of that, resentment and anger, and it is even worse when you literally, literally exponentially multiply how bad it feels to lose like they do in the Diner. The asking for gold pop up only makes it worse because at that point is basically is just gambling money which is awful.

Pretty much the first fundamental thing you learn in game theory is that gambling is not irrational because the value people get from it is not solely decided by the money component but also the joy of winning or just the thrill to lose it all. Am I right that each table costs twice as many bubs as the previous one? If so, simple strategy to push high but always be able to keep playing: play every match on the table right below the highest one you can afford. This way you're never spending more than half your bubs at once, but you can keep pushing up higher when you're winning without having to drop too far if you lose.

Strategy I found to work was to always go one table below your highest table.This way, if you loose, you won’t loose everything.Sure it’s slower but I thinks it’s worth it.However I do have to agree with the majority and say this mode gets your hopes up just to crush it.Honestly I think I’ll just get Cassandra and then not play this mode
My best advice for this gamemode if you don't want it to feel bad: ALWAYS play at your second highest table, NEVER at the highest.
And if you really want to get the rewards fast, play a deck that let you know if you should retreat on turn 3 or 4 or snap and stay (the first one and best one that comes to my mind is mister negative, you have him on turn 3 or 4: snap, you don't: retreat on 3 or 4 max)
As a player that mostly do dailies and play some games here and there, sometimes not everyday, Snap already felt bad if you wanted to get most of the ressources you can get in a month.
I play decks that I enjoy, not meta decks so I get to infinite 2 or 3 weeks after the beginning of the season (I've been playing a galactus/Arishem since he's out and probably won't play anything else for a while)
Then I have to farm conquest to get the gold/credit/variants, and that takes me most of the end of the month.
So having to play a 3rd mode to get a card and some other free ressources makes me feel like I don't have enough time.
And yes it's FOMO, but a free card is like the best ressource in this game, it's like a targeted spotlight key or 6k tokens. It's 50$ in SD prices.
I like events where you only have to play the game as you always do and get some small rewards, like some extra daillies. Not a reskinned conquest that prey on your FOMO and wallet.

My main complaint is the auto snap/increasing of bubs. This forces you to only play decks that are high win rate. Those decks that are surprise decks which can be low win rate high cube rate in ladder just DO NOT work well here.
A major upgrade would be: Allow players to snap on each turn to increase the bubs wagered rather than auto snapping to increase. This totally changes the dynamic and rewards skill while maintaining the casino/poker wager mechanic.
Bots SHOULD be here. Queue times would be terrible and bots allow for some wins which always makes things more fun.
I appreciate you telling me not to play the highest stakes possible but respectfully imma gamble as much as possible because I love the rush!
Within the first three hours I fought someone with the Cassandra variant! Couldn't believe it. But overall the game mode is fun especially if you've already hit Infinite and find Conquest a drag.

Gambling addict here, the number 1 thing to remember is DO NOT CHASE YOUR LOSES. When you lose a lot of bubs or money do not immediately follow that up with more money or bubs. The more bubs or money you lose the more desperate you will feel to get it back, either by spending money you shouldn’t or making bad decisions or taking bigger risks. The best thing you can do is walk away for a little bit and calm down then get back into it. Remember this is just a game and don’t lose your cool!
Cozy's mic is especially pop-y today, might wanna look into that.
For anyone wondering, the bub refresh rate upgrades will upgrade your refill max to the amount of lifetime bubs it took to get that upgrade. The refresh is always 1/8th of your refill max per hour. Once you get up to the first upgrade, it will at most take an hour to get you into a round of Cereal if you lose all your bubs.
Also, the bub refresh does not count towards your lifetime bubs. You have to win games to move up the rewards track.
Dera spent 8000+ gold in a matter of first 30 mins in the game mode. He was shocked when chat spoke about his cumulative expenditure in the game mode. I only watched for 30 mins, no idea how much he spent later on

Feels like (another) inefficient way to use your playing time imo, I mean you can get all the non-filler rewards playing ladder and without the annoying auto-snapping (what's up with the snapping nonchalance? h-bob and now this?)... they should keep focusing on improving the main game instead of spending resources on dev's quirks, like they did with ACTIVATE, now that's something cool that makes me like the game more and will for sure increase my playing time, awesome job with that.
A) They needed to have quicker energy regen and a guaranteed base that at least lets people play. I get they want to sell gold for Bubs refreshes but they really should have just put this game mode down as player retention to keep the other money ticking in, not an all new way to chisel for money.
B) it's really poor that they pop up "you're out of Bubs, why not pay gold for more" messages when people aren't out of Bubs, just don't have enough for their current table. This should have been picked up in 5 seconds by QA so it's either awful QA or a really squirrelly decision to keep in the misleading begging question.
I think the hardest thing playtesting this mode is simply that no playtester can duplicate the real mentality people will have when real rewards and time sunk are on the line. And playtesters wouldn't have had to wait to dive back in after zeroing out either.

I'm sure it's difficult to critique things and say your full experience/opinion. As a newer player facing CL 10k+ players as a 2-3k CL player is madness... Add onto that auto "snaps" and waiting hours to even play a single game again and this game mode feels not only Pay2Win but as if it was tailored for those with mostly completed sets. The very limited to no Cl based matchmaking while some spend gold to endlessly VS bots and retreat VS players on the high stakes tables (which people are streaming/including on Marvel Snaps discord) with 500million+ bubs
While getting stomped for my 4th game of the event hours and hours after it started where I am vsing JunkHawk with all the cards and I'm playing a S2/S3 ongoing deck is inane. Teching in enchantress, shang-chi etc is good, but so 1 dimensional in the decks that are out there and often straight out overpowered by cards with far better energy to power ratios WHILE also including additional beneficial effects...
Why didn't they include similar CL break points? the notion of it being for queue time is insane... did they think no one would play the new mode? is that what their apparent testing resulted in?

i didn't know anything about this mode before entering and when i started i instantly realized the danger of starting off with pancakes, as losing would lead to having only 80 bubs (i didn't realize at the time but it would actually be 0 bubs if either player snapped)

The big problem with Deadpool’s Diner is that it tries to stop you playing the game. Obviously you get timed out when out of bubs. But even when you do play, you’re heavily incentivised to retreat early if things aren’t going your way rather than, you know, ACTUALLY PLAYING YOUR CARDS! The reward track is nice, but the mode itself is unfun and boring.
Anyone else have this issue? My bubs do not refresh anymore, the timer was on last night now as of this morning timer disappeared and I am stuck at 30 bubs. Can’t play without being forced to spend gold. Great job SD you monetization of this awesome mode is garbage!

Funnily enough, in the first game I ever played with Copycat, she stole the opponent's Copycat! And in the second game, she stole Infinaut (from an Arishem deck)...
Auto-snapping is meant to knock you back more than push you forward. Doesn't feel like a 50/50 split, because if you're only kind of winning, you retreat, you lose more than you took to move up the ranks in the first place. Maybe auto snap on just the final turn or something I don't know. Also, like you talked about - the cost of entry locks players out also, and that's.. so counter-intuitive and anti-consumer? And is it true you get more bubs regenerated faster the higher you are in the ranks? Shouldn't it be the opposite so you people can.. play the game? Not saying all this to be a hater, I am enjoying my experience with it, it's a fresh idea and I want more of these new ways to experience the game. Sorry for my bad english in advance….I had a lot of luck and i won with basic sauron deck in 10 games in a row and i collected bubs vary fast, now im on point that i get 600k bubs per 8hr, im on 3.5mil bubs so mathematically i now need to lose every game and replenish those bubs and i easily get cassandra nova base version at least, so moral of the story is dont rush and you will get on this point like me and you will tehnically finish event
And dont think im a whale or something, im on cl 3500, without a lot of s3,s4,s5 cards, but when i got to a larger meals i started to play against bots and i farmed on them

if you played it very early (like first win 5 minutes after release, then second win right after) your were most likely facing bots from third game onwards
I played and won a crap ton and just lost my first match. Got so many rewards after the frist 7 games i won.

TVA location with a turn 4 blob pretty much sums up my experience so far. I think i rather just buy Cassandra outright.

I've been playing since global release, reached multiple infinite seasons, have 2 infinity borders. And I lost my 1st game just trying out the Bud snap mechanic and the game is asking me for 700 gold to play again??? CMON SECOND DINNER. At least give new players a "Recharge token" or something.
When it asks for gold after losing, hit no. Go back and it'll ask for 100 gold.

the way they designed this kinda feels like a slap in the face i'm really not enjoying it in its current iteration as I've only been able to play 3 games
The only reason I play this mobile game is because it doesn't have some bs energy system limiting how much I can play. So glad they think that's what the game has been missing.
