    Next time I get sick I'm climbing Everest and Mont Blanc back to back and blindfolded with only a Yeti to guide me. I'm not going to the doctor.

      Good thinking. No one who has ever climbed with a Yeti guide has died.

    The Isle of Man TT motorcycle races have been run since 1907 and approximately 280 people have died during the races in that period. So near enough the same amount of fatalities.
    However, as I often asked when mountaineering: Why be cold and wet and scared, when you can just be scared?

    Love your brain Mr Tracy. Smiling about death all through the video. Thank you.

    Dr. Harold Shipman threw the stats out of whack a bit when the odds of dying if you saw him were 100%! ;)

      Only if you were a woman and above middle age, don't recall him having a single male victim that came to the attention of Police Detectives though he may have bumped off one or two guys that went undiscovered.
      His hatred of women must have been huge.
      I have heard of Mommy Issues but could his own Mum really have been so dark.
      If not Mommy Dearest, what kind of female did he encounter to make him want to kill every other female he met?
      She must have been one demonic, crazy and wicked lady to leave that big a mark on him and inspire so much revenge in him.

    I don't care what anyone says, my wife's doctors almost killed her with too much medicine. Now she has medically induced chirosis of the liver.

    I think the 100 deaths on mont blanc statistic was originally published as total deaths on the entire mont blanc massif which sounds a bit more realistic. Somewhere along the way someone took that number to mean deaths attempting mont blanc itself

      And apparently this figure includes skiing and hiking fatalities too, not purely mountaineering fatalities

      Although I cant find an original source for this anywhere so who knows, as a chamonix resident it sounds 'about' right but that doesnt mean much.

    hi and lol you forgot 2 important "factors" (usa only?) 1, deaths caused by Dr.s knowingly giving victims, I mean patients "medicine" they know causes more deaths the the illness they have.2, the U.S. gov now lets foreign Dr.s in the USA PASS MEDICAL TESTS TO BE A DOCTOR on a different scale then the tests for U.S. citizens taking the same tests.lol I understand why you cannot "factor in" these 2 "issues" lol merry xmas!

    There are lies, damn lies and articles comparing the risk of dying climbing Everest to visiting the doctor.

    The secret to a long life is a well-rounded diet of triathlons taken at regular intervals: mountain climbing, base jumping and cave diving.

    TY 🙏🙏. Doctor Who has killed millions, but he would argue to save billions, which group takes priority, and should you still go to him about your dodgy knee?

    is a post-truth review of The Third Pole still in the works?

    • @michaeltracy2356
      @michaeltracy2356  9 місяців тому +1

      I'll cover some of that material in the "Was Andrew Irvine Found in 2019" video. In general, the post-truth stuff does not do well with the general audience and if I do post more specific stuff like that, I'll do it in the members only section so it doesn't hurt my exposure. When you post niche videos, UA-cam downgrades your ranking.

    The difference is, I don't go to a doctor to prove to myself or to anyone else what an outstanding person I am. I'm not intentionally risking my life as a form of recreation or self-medication.

    • @michaeltracy2356
      @michaeltracy2356  9 місяців тому +7

      You don't swim, you don't ride a bike, you don't fly or drive to go on vacation. Wow. I am deeply honored that watching my UA-cam videos provides you some type of risk free recreation. However, I would also suggest that you take a little risk in your life, even if it is just for recreation. If not, please don't forget to like and subscribe.

      @@michaeltracy2356 You are comparing apples and pears. You can not compare all people (Everest-group) with a selected group (Doctor).

    • @michaeltracy2356
      @michaeltracy2356  9 місяців тому

      @@sebastianf.brodda4474 It would help if you cite some legitimate facts for your opinions. Simply saying something does not make it true. Which study says that people who refuse to go to a doctor are more likely to be killed by that decision?
      You can see the opposite with elective hip replacement. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4054013/.
      That is, the people would no doubt have mobility problems from their hip. However, by going to a doctor to have it replaced, they increase their risk of dying. All of this is explained to the patient and the patient chooses to risk dying so they can have a better quality of life. But it does increase their risk of death.
      I prefer to base my decisions on factual information, not mere opinions. Simply coming onto a UA-cam channel and spouting an opinion does not make it true. More problematic is you either didn't know about deaths from various elective surgeries -- in which case you are a fool -- or you did know and chose to ignore it -- in which case you are a charlatan.
      Your statement about apples and pears does not make sense. Neither myself nor anyone else here is a mind reader. You will need to articulate your point with more clarity.
