Can ppl stop saying Rude was never a world champ now please. I mean he is holding one of the most famous world heavyweight championship title belt of all time
Wasn't the actual heavy weight championship belt though. The WCW International World Heavyweight Championship is a defunct professional wrestling world heavyweight championship that was contested in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) between 1993 and 1994. Although it was owned and controlled by WCW, the championship was presented as the highest accolade of "WCW International", a fictitious subsidiary. The championship was contested at WCW events and at several events in Japan under the aegis of New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW).
@@artisticskillz01 yea I can copy Google verbatim also. But if it's not an actual World Championship then why is it counted as one of Ric Flair's world championship title Reigns? If you go back and watch the footage eventually they stopped calling at the international World title and just start calling at the world heavyweight championship. It is also eventually unified with WCW World Heavyweight Championship and then they start to use the big gold belt as the WCW world heavyweight title again
Funny how Okerlund brought up Sting was a threat to his career. He must have been a fortune teller cause Sting ended his career with the back injury in Japan
If Rude was healthy at Slamboree he would have beat Vader and faced Flair in title unification match. Not just my prediction but the seeds were planted not only here but goes back to Fall of 93 when he won the Big Gold Belt.
How awesome would've been Rude-Flair III. I'm still shocked Flair jobbed 2 in a row to Rude. They should've never unified the belts. Rude kept going over to Japan and Europe to defend his title. They should've kept it that way where the big gold belt (which was and always will be recognized as a world heavyweight title all over the world) was mostly defended internationally and then on the PPVs. Would've been a great way to see occasional international stars, yet keep all the big ego players WCW was about to stay satisfied with a world championship. Hogan hogged the 1 world title for so damn long that other former champs were collecting dust and some stars that had been on the rise just left the company. Should've kept both titles separate world championships.
Yeah, that's "Thunder and Lightning". "Lightning" was Jeff Farmer. He went on to work as "Cobra" (you might remember the goofy feud between him and Craig Pittman) and then nWo Sting. The match this is coming from is here: ua-cam.com/video/xXcNS7Uz1Uk/v-deo.html
@@yoholmes273 WTF are you talking about? This ain't about WWE, WCW themselves never acknowledged Rude as the World champion, and rightfully so. What he won was the remains of the NWA title, which was worthless at the time. They used Flair's gold belt since they couldn't use the old NWA belt, and renamed it the International title. It was NEVER the top championship in WCW, it was never presented as the World heavyweight championship, so Rude was absolutely not the WCW champion and I'm glad the record books say so.

@@artisticskillz01 the fictitious part of it was the fact that there was no such thing as WCW International. It was a made-up emotion
Arctic skillz tries to debunk it being a world championship by giving a definition that calls it a world championship multiple times lol
He wasnt he was the wcw international heavyweight champion the small belt that Vader and sting fought over was the world title
When you hold the Big Gold Belt, in any form its in. You are the man. "Ravishing" Rick Rude is one of those guys to have held that famous belt.
One of the greatest heels ever...
What a presence of the ravishing with the big gold belt.
Dude looked like a million bucks
Best belt to ever exist. Should have been around his waist.
it was many times
nah you hold it like a trophy its a worlds championship
rude vs sting saga 1 of the best rivalries in my personal in my opinion

DEAR GOD GIVE US BACK RAVISHING RICK RUDE AND WILL GIVE U KAMILLE !!!
Nice upload 🤘
R.I.P. Mean Gene and Rude. I mean, Flair and Sting are the only ones alive today.

One bad man!!! Fo real!!
Rick rude was extremely underrated
Rice Rude! love it...
That tag team at the beginning of the video--is one of those guys Jeff Farmer, the infamous "Bogus Sting,"....

Only bad part is he wasn't acknowledged the champ was he I may be wrong
@@thisisprowrestling326 honestly this upsets me. It always has tbh because he deserved that belt once in his career and he never got it.
@@thisisprowrestling326 F WWE. Of course, "it counts". Like saying the WWE HOF actually matters. Rick Rude was World Champion period

I saw the history ow the NWA belt the WCW and WWE and this belt doesn’t fall under any of them. I feel Rick got screwed.
N.W.A. wanted ric flair to be the champion. When rude was made champion the N.W.A didn't like it so they decided end their relationship with W.C.W
Rude was 35 here😂
I'm glad he wasn't one of the wrestlers, that never got to be world champion that deserved it. Like a Rowdy Roddy Piper
Recognize as an international heavyweight champion not Actual heavyweight champion By the championship committee in wcw

Sucks he’s dead
