I decided to go thrifting with a bit of a challenge and tried to thrift a prom dress! You definitely never know what your local thrift store might hold! I had so much fun thrifting with my sis and I hope you enjoy☆

I tried on a dress at Macy’s from the Say Yes to the Dress line last year, and it was $250 at the time. I came back a week after prom season ended and bought the same dress for $20 for this year.

Your sister is so cute! I’m pretty sure I’ve had multiple moments while thrifting that I’d found a dress that I would’ve totally worn to prom 😅 I spent wayyyy too much money on mine, only wore it once, and it’s STILL in my closet.

I actually thrifted my prom dress a few months ago for $6! I do agree that you probably cannot get your "dream" dress and it takes a lot of time and effort to find the one you want. But thrift stores are like that, it's a hit or miss, and it's a way better alternative to a typical $100-300 dress that many girls get. Sorry your sister couldn't find the dress, but I still think it's a great idea to go prom dress shopping in a thrift store

Jan Balan my freshman homecoming dress was $7, first prom was $5, sophmore homecoming and second prom were free, junior homecoming dress is $6, and junior prom is $15. Idk about senior year, as I will be doing that shopping later this year/early next year.

I got my junior prom dress for only 25$ at a thrift store. I love it! It is just as pretty as a 500$ dress. So glad I found it for such a cheap price.

A good friend of mine thrifted her prom dress for senior prom last year and honestly!! It was legitimately my favorite look on prom night she looked fantastic!
i thrifted a two piece set from a local place!! the skirt was a maxi length satin button down (very reformation) and the top was this super like XXL satin shirt so i made the skirt slightly more fitted and made a sort of tube top bit with the top and the set looked So Nice together

Very late to this video, but wanted to share that I did get my prom dress from a thrift store chain called Unique for $15 back in the early 2010's! It was a beautiful 100% silk, slim silhouette, open back, black dress with a beaded cowl neck that faded into the waist line. Probably one of my proudest thrift-store finds. Ten years later I still wear it occasionally to fancy events.

I found my prom dress at a thrift shop this year and I loved it so much. It was exactly what I had imagined in a prom dress and it was my favorite color, exactly the right length and the style of it was perfect and it was under $10! :)

Also, if you find a decent dress for under $10 - you can spend a bit of money on tailoring, or do some DIY and have a one of a kind piece that is still pretty cheap
I have the first dress you wore but it's full length with high slit. I got it from a thrift store here in the Philippines for $4. it's one of my best steals.

I got my prom dress in 2010 at a Salvation Army store. I was there looking for a jacket and lodged in with the winter stuff was a silver silk floor-length gown that fit perfectly. It was only 12 dollars CAN
