Oh, goodness, that black dress with asymmetrical neckline looked absolutely amazing on you...fit you like a glove! If you get invited to weddings sometimes, it might be worth shopping for fancy dresses to have a couple on standby. Those of us who thrift and shop vintage are not going to find the perfect thing right before we need it. It takes time, and lots of trips to the store.

The last minute hunt shopping has almost never worked for me. I assemble a list of social outings at all dress code levels of my circle: full black demure for funerals, black tie dark and black tie statement, christenings, Bar (Bat/ Benai ) Mitzvahs, Easter, Holy week, wine tastings, outdoor sports. From bathing suits to white tie, if I’m likely to be invited or want to attend a dress code: it’s on the year round hunt list. When I need to go somewhere, I grab the outfit for X dress code event in X season. I usually have a few choices. Of all the things I’m epic at last minute, finding a photogenic thrifted outfit in 24 hrs is not one of them!

The green would have been fun if it worked for you. I think the gold sequence with black shapes before the "nah nah" dress could have suited the occasion but maybe it would have been too much/too hot... I also liked the silver micro pleat with the yoke belt. Glad you had a good time!
Wow i just checked out Thred up for the first time and the sizing seems... off, in a major way. How does a large size dress have a 29" bust? Did you shop by using their measurements or did you just buy your regular size
I even tried looking for things two sizes larger like would when shopping China sites online and a 35" bust for 2x just doesn't seem right. That's not even my strap size 😂
