Congratulations on getting a diagnosis!! Over the last year I've been acknowledging that I'm neurodivergent more and starting to have a better understanding of how my brain works. I'm very much figuring it out on my own for now. I have an arc for Witchcraft for Wayward Girls too and I am so pumped to get to it!!!
Great video as always Beth. I am so glad that getting the diagnosis has brought you some closure, I was diagnosed Autistic in August at 33 years old! It is so validating finally getting answers and being able to say 'oh that's why I do that' etc x
Congratulations on getting a diagnosis. My nephew has just gone through the process (via GP to specialist) to get his diagnosis. He is on medication. He is in his 30s. He was referred when he was in school when a teacher suggested he may have traits. However, the specialist said there was no signs and the teacher should stick to teaching. A delightful man😢 My nephew, as you can imagine, has a lot of anger about how it wasn't identified and feels very let down.
Im 58 nearly 59 and am on an NHS waiting list for an ADHD assessment. The wait time where I live is 4 years !! Im so glad you've had your assessment and much younger than I am.
That wait time is disgraceful. Rah rah rah for the NHS and the U.S. healthcare system is broken, but I'm really glad I live in the U.S. when I hear stuff like this. I can't imagine living with my anxiety and depression for 4 YEARS before getting the diagnoses, let alone treatment. Sorry for the rant, and let's all carry on because we're all friends here. Enjoy your time in Greece!
Beth, as a fellow late-diagnosed woman (last year), this made me tear up. I am so happy for you. I think unless someone has had this experience, it's truly indescribable why it's so relieving and comforting to have a diagnosis. I am so happy you got that. Just wanted to say that. ❤ Loved the music in this video, and reading We Used to Live Here next!
I am so sorry for missing your amazing videos for the last couple of months but I’m glad to be back and looking forward to seeing your videos again on your brilliant channel love ❤️ your Aussie family friend John ❤❤❤I am back after losing my mom due too cancer ❤❤❤
Whenever people talk about We Used to Live Here, I think of the Austrian movie Funny Games. :D A movie that really scared everything out of me. I really enjoyed Woman in Black by Susan Hill, hope you give that a try, too. :) And congrats on the diagnosis. I hope it will help you going forward. I have quite a few friends who got this diagnosis as adults, and I think a lot of them felt similar to what you described.
I'm currently in the process of trying to get an ADHD diagnosis. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a doctor who took my insurance. My psychiatrist told me I needed to see a Neuropsychiatrist because I have other diagnosis that mirror ADHD. He can do it but he didn't think the tests he does would be good enough. I get my evaluation 12/6. Not sure what I'll do after that but having a diagnosis is the first step
First, oh my gosh, now I need to read. we used to live here, which sounds great 👍, and your wonderful human Beth thankyou for sharing you journey with A.D.H.D you just keep being you sweetie 😊
I am happy you finally know you have ADHD. I know the feeling of being validated. I was diagnosed with the ADD variant of ADHD in March 2024 at the age of 34! I went down the expensive private route as the NHS waiting list of three years was far too long. I already felt that had gone so many years with no answers, being 34 already.
I know the feeling all too well about finally getting that diagnosis. I have Dyscalculia which basically is like dyslexia but with numbers. Growing up I felt so stupid and even teachers just sighed when I didn´t get math no matter how many times they helped me out. One day I had a group assignment about Dyslexia and we got to interview the responsible nurse in school who did those kind of assesments and she said are you only going to write about Dyslexia and then she started to talk about Dyscalculia and suddenly the weight on my shoulders where gone. 9 out of 10 signs I had and suddenly I didn´t feel stupid anymore.
Picked up yesterday, We Used TO Live Here ( I think you pronounce his surname Cleaver ) & Who Was Changed & Who Was Dead by an author I'd never heard of before - Barbara Comyns .
