    The Ledlenser Solidline SL-Pro-220 runs on 3 AAA batteries and it has a runtime of 30h.
    It dims the light a little over time to save energy and it's a little chunky, sacrificing some portability, but it could be worth it.

    • @alextaplin7354
      @alextaplin7354 3 роки тому

      I cant stand Ledlensers, they are overpriced, very underpowered and how they lose brightness over battery loss is really annoying. Ive had a few and now avoid them.

    What do you recomend: I'm a field chef in Australia, I'm often in a camping/bush setting on my motorcycle. Due to my limited vehicle space (pretty much on my person and 1 bag) I need a 1 light does all for up close food prep/cooking (some time hands free, I usually have a vest or hat) and also bush scouting/deterrent for any animals wanting to kill us - haha. And In a rare occasions as a back up vehicals headlight for my bike (blew a globe in the bike at night once).

    Your videos are always informative and great to watch . This might be a long question. 1) do you reccomend leaving lights in a car in an emergency bag?
    2) what lights do you reccomend that can withstand extreme temps for example up to 40degrees C down to 0degreesC and can be stored in the car.
    Cheers from melbourne australia

    • @NitecoreSG
      @NitecoreSG  3 роки тому +4

      russ ndc 1) yes, I’ll be doing a car kit soon!
      2) the lights can take it, it’s the battery that you have to be worried about. There’s no heat proof battery that can withstand high heat in the car for long periods, it will discharge no matter what the battery type. But best practices would be, place your kit in the coolest area of the car, under the car seat for example. And have it at 90% battery capacity. A full battery at high heat is not safe. Then just charge it every 3-6 months to keep it topped up.
      Hope it helps! Glad you find the videos useful!

    Very nice setup.
    What would be amazing s for the entire bag to have an external USB-C port, and then the interior batteries connected to it, so that all you need to do at night is plug in your bag, and the batteries all charge automatically. I'm busy building up a laptop backpack that will do that.
    That way there's only one thing to plug in (the bag itself) and the internal system charges everything connected inside. USB-C seems to be the catalyst for this as well as battery packs like the RAVPOWER 20,000. I think this can be done with reasonably light weight too.
    All that together with a 7,000mah battery smart phone seems like a realistic prospect.

    Why Lanterns are always given little importance.
    We stand inside the house all night and part of the day. That is a long period of time when we need lanterns, not flashlight.
    It is also advisable to include a small solar panel and a multimeter to the flashlight kits.
    As fourth line of light backup, before the LED revolution which begun in year 2002 - when all the best lights were incandescent (remember the 20/60 minutes runtime, 225/125 lumens Surefire M4 Millennium edition), I used some propane lanterns, capable of emitting 400 lumens for five hours). And bags full with 100s of Energizer CR123A - there were no good rechargeable options with xenon-halogen bulbs.
    Regards,
    Anthony

    Excellent content!
    On Amazon the TIP2 states micro usb rechargeable.
    However the TIP SE states”USB RECHARGEABLE - with USB-C fast charging enjoy up to 50 hours run time per charge with a battery level and charging status indicator. When it is time to recharge, just connect it to any USB power source.
    NITECORE TIP SE KIT- included are Tip SE (black), 2x key rings, key clasp, clip, and a LumenTac Keylight. (Note: USB Type-C Charging cable is sold separately and not included in the manufacturer package)”
    Usb-C?? The TINI 2 also seems to require USB-C.
    Which is it? Or both? Thanks
    Why not use 20K power banks? Basically same size but double power.

  • @alextaplin7354
    @alextaplin7354 3 роки тому +1

    You say you lose sight, sound and force in just darkness? That is wrong. You lose most of your sight in darkness but your hearing will actually improve to compensate for the lack of input from the eyes so you have beeter sound at night and also others can detect your sound easier at night. There is absolutely not effect on the ammount of force you can apply in melee combat unless you are very tired or miss your target point.
    Another sense that an untrained person may lose is rational thinking, our mind adjust during the night and not necessary in our favour.
