Magnum Cannon Once you get the hang of it, it's not so bad really. I don't think Heat Man's stage belongs on a worst levels ever. They even give you time to learn the patterns before doing it over the lava. Here though, you need a really sharp intuition if you want to survive unless you've played it or watched someone else.
Don Cassedy Metal Man's easy. Sure, he gave me a bit of a hard time on my first run, but if you know how to dodge his blades it's easy. And yeah. Quick Man is a complete spaz.
The problem with Heat Man's stage is that while it does let you get the hang of the Yoku Blocks' timing before putting an instant death obstacle below you, it doesn't give you any warning that the timing will suddenly change once you're above the lava, and to me that's bad design. How is a first time player supposed to know that?
+Mega Light In a fight? Quick Man, because Heat Man's slow and grounded attacks wouldn't even be able to touch Quick Man, especially when jumping. His Atomic Fire thou- wait, Heat Man never actually uses Atomic Fire, does he?

2 is alright, but I still think Mega Man 3 is the best of the NES games. It introduced two of the series' biggest mainstays: sliding and Rush. And being able to slide would've made something like Quick Man's stage MUCH more tolerable.
Yep, 3 is the best in my opinion too! :D It introduced Protoman (aka Blues), had *great* music and revisiting levels to fight the Doc Robot! It's good enough to the point where I consider it the canon events of Megaman 3 Give it a good read, it's a great piece of work!
0:25 Not to offend anyone, but I agree with that statement. Stages like Quick Man (without using Time Stopper) and Heat Man (those stupid Yoku blocks) ruins the game for me. Battling Wood Man was a pain too, he was overpowered, and the raining leaves are impossible to dodge with the shield accompanying them. Plus he gives you less room as the battle progresses. MM7 is definitely my favorite of the Classic series. The bosses were neater, and the damage levels were balanced.
Oh yeah he's pretty tricky. I recommend shooting him only when he's running toward you. He will try to jump over your shot, then you can slide under him. But when he attacks, focus only on dodging. Though the stalactites was always the annoying part for me.
I agree with MM 2 being overrated. AMong other things, I can't stand Megaman's slippery movement, which they finally fixed on the third one. That said, I kinda understand why people like it so much, going from MM 1 to MM 2, it's a whole lot better, they polished everything.... although it can still be cheap at times. Like the final boss only being weak to ONE sub weapon, and having no way to recharge it if you die and used it too much -_-
+Ignacio Puppo Personally, i think they only fixed one thing: Mega Man's knockback. For some reason, I feel like the only person who thinks Mega Man 1 is one of the best classic Mega Man games. I think either 4 or 5 is my favorite, but 1 is a close second. I think 2 is '2' easy (see what i did there?) and 3 had lame boss weapons and levels that felt way too long (note that the only NES Mega Man games i haven't beaten are 6 and 3. 6 because i haven't played 6 yet and 3 because i didn't like it enough to continue). Those are just my thoughts. Disregard anything i say however because i have only played the 3DS virtual console versions. Sorry for the essay.
Mm1 isn’t my favourite classic mega man game but I enjoyed it.A lot more than mega man 2. While I don’t struggle much with the yellow devil now, having to restart the stage because you didn’t learn his pattern well enough can get tedious. The yellow devil isn’t by any means a well designed fight, but at least it was fun. When mega man 2 presents you with trial and error level design, which is far too often, I don’t experience any of that fun I did when fighting the yellow devil. In conclusion, mega man 2 is my least favourite of the classic series by a long shot, with my favourites being 3,6,7 and 10.
Personally, I think Quick Boomerang is the best weapon in 2. It has lots of ammo, decent range and is all around fun to use. Almost every other weapon in 2 sucks ass (just like the game itself)
I actually find some use out of the Air Shooter and Atomic Fire. Honestly, I think the Metal Blades are probably as broken as they are because of the game's stressful development.
Honestly, I wouldn't call it my least favorites in the series, but it's up there. Poor design choices, some horrible level design at times, and very unbalanced weaponry. Ironically though, Quick Man's stage and fight aren't any of those things to me. It's actually my favorite stage in the game, and he's by far my favorite of the Robot Masters in the game (before anyone says anything, I don't like Metal Man). I liked the adrenaline rush in the stage. Just too bad that even without the Flash Stopper, it's so freaking easy when you memorize the stage. Also, you do realize that you can manipulate the AI of the Sniper Joes in the end right? If you jump before they land, they're more likely to almost never shoot you. Quick Man himself though is in my opinion the hardest of the 8 Robot Masters, but in a fun way. I wouldn't exactly call his action a "pattern" so to speak. I like reaction fights as long as there aren't too many of them. So I like the stage on a normal run. In a No Damage, Buster Only Run? *shudders* It's a complete nightmare. I didn't record myself since it was for fun and experience, but I remember it took over 900 attempts.
Which makes me wonder what version was he playing. He was probably playing on PAL, where the game is way more unforgiving. Quickman tbh wasn't really a big problem to me, just the lasers until I defeated flash man (who is a joke honestly). With that said, the level is awful if you don't plan beforehand, and megaman 2 in general can be really frustrating in that sense, but boy it feels great when beating it. Heat man on the other hand is a terrible stage near the end (fast faller + unpredictable platforms = disaster), and worst part is that the boss is a joke.
I really liked 2 (mostly for the music) and I agree it's not as good as some later entries but my favorite is probably 7 (proto shield up) I think what hurt 7's reputation was comparing it to the X series since 7 and X2 were released around the same time.
My only real complaint about Mega Man 2 is how unbalanced the weapons are. That crash bombs take way too much energy to use. They're the fastest and most effective weapon to use against Quick Man and the ONLY weapon that works on the dreaded Wily Stage 4 boss, the BooBeam Trap, in both cases you have only just enough energy to take down either boss and you absolutely must not miss (it's possible to hit Quick Man twice per shot by hitting a wall, but it takes timing, luck, and you'll probably get hit in the process, BooBeam however, you must be precise and even go for taking out multiple sections in one shot even). If they would have only cost 2 instead of 4, this game could have been much more balanced. Oh yes, and if beating the game quickly is on your agenda, you'll soon realize that Metal Blades are overrated (they stop your momentum when you use them), soon you'll be finding out how good Quick Boomerang, Leaf Shield, and Air Shooter really are (and in a lot of cases, Crash Bombs are useful too). In fact, I pick up all of those weapons before even going to Metal Man's stage in my playthrough.
I personally hate Leaf Shield: It's a misnomer; it won't protect you from any projectiles. You could consider this a nitpick, but wouldn't it be so much better if it blocked bullets? Even if it did block projectiles, it'd still be bad. You have to stay still in order to use this weapon, otherwise it will fly off in the direction you're facing. Why does this terrible design choice exist? You could say that it's a projectile weapon, but... This weapon does fuck all in terms of damaging enemies. Only a handful of foes die from the Leaf Shield, and the only ones I use it against are Air Man and Egg Pipis. Due to the light damage and the shield flying off your body, the Leaf Shield is very situational. I wouldn't call it varied or useful at all.
@@IsMonic Just because a comment was three years ago doesn't mean we can't talk about it. Why use the Leaf Shield when you can just use Metal Blades? In a scenario where an enemy is homing in on you or about to pounce on you, the Leaf Shield will force you stop in your tracks, wait for the enemy to jump at you, and then wait for it to die (assuming the enemy actually *does* die and doesn't just pierce through the Leaf Shield and hurt you). Doesn't that interrupt the gameplay quite a bit? The Metal Blades don't force you to stop as much, and are spammable, and kill most things, and preserve more energy, and are less situational than the Leaf Shield. I guess that's my main issue with Mega Man 2: the weapons are unbalanced as Hell, the Metal Blade and Quick Boomerangs are the only things I would consider using (unless of course, I'm forced to use a weapon I would otherwise not use, such as the Crash Bombs in the Boo Beam Trap room, or the Bubble Lead against Alien.)
@@megaedge2762 I stand by this statement. I'm not saying they're not good. I'm saying the other weapons in 2 deserve more credit than they receive. And while you may not beat the game as quickly without the blades, they're certainly not required. I invite you to check out some of the playthroughs on my channel. I'm able to get through them rather quickly, and you'll be surprised at how seldom I switch to this weapon.
I'm pretty sure I was really hung up on the Genesis version when I made this statement all these years ago. The lead shield got a major buff in that version. I still like using the leaf shield to get through the drill section in Wily Tower. The blades are really bad in any version that isn't the original NES.
Yup, Mega Man 2 is my favorite alongside Mega Man 3. I always hated quick man's stage sure, but the music in the stage is really epic, fitting for a frustrating level. I am always able to get past it without time stopper.
6:17 However, When he blocks it... He stops moving. That means you can throw a crash bomb at him. Just hope he jumps into it. Basically... >Throw Metal Blade >Throw Crash Bomb >Hope for the best. Rinse and repeat.
I happen to love this level, but when I first played the game in 2003, I was pulling my hair out! X_X Your points are totally valid! And although I enjoy QM's level & fighting him, it does seem to be badly designed. Subscribed.
If you did "dishonorable mentions" in this video, then Heat Man's stage (MM2), Guts Man's stage (MM1), and Ice Man's stage (MM1) would've been obvious choices.
Jyothi Murthy Yeah, that one too. Mine were mostly based on not just my own experience of Mega Man games, but also others' (Ultimate Yoshi, the sprite comic "To Defeat Them All", etc.), but I can see where you're coming from with Ring Man's stage (MM4). Those damn rainbow laser platforms...
6:42 Quick Man might be even more of a Prick to Mega Man once you realise the Quick Boomerang weapon you obtain for defeating him makes Mega-Man Pink *Doh!*
0:30 I agree. I think it's the worst, since although it has a password unlike in its predecessor, it's much more difficult, not helped by the fact that Mega Man, despite new abilities from robots still has no new moves, making the game a bit slow
This level was the bane of my childhood. Oh and don't forget to mention that if you get past the lasers using your Flash but then die before reaching Quickman well sucks to be you cause your Flash is already used up now.
Personally, I try to never use Time Stopper at all during the stage (I'm masochistic like that), but if I were to, I'd use it on Quick Man, since I can memorise the lasers. Plus, anything to say on the music in the stage?
What I personally do is use the Time Stopper to get past the Force Beams, and then use Crash Man's Crash Bombs to fight Quick Man. Because they're his secondary weakness (And he's liable to running right into the blasts, which can hit him multiple times with one detonation.), both are very useful for getting through the level with minimal fuss.
The stage really isn't so bad in my book, but the boss fight on the other hand...I don't think there even is a pattern to Quick Man, and he is definitely one of the hardest robot masters in the series, if not the hardest.
To answer that question at 5:24, before you enter the doorway to Quick Man, and if you already used the flash stopper to pass the laser part of the level, try and kill off the respawning Sniper Joe Walkers until you gain more ammo for the flash stopper so you can still use it against Quick Man.
this is my least favorite classic megaman game for 4 reason : 1.the level design 2.wily castle the stage not the music 3. the unbalanced weapon 4.THE BOOBEAM TRAP
+THÁI ANH And it's overrated as hell.... I honestly feel the same about X2, the only MMX game i have more than it is X7, and even that one at least has a good boss theme.
+THÁI ANH I cant pick neither favorite or unfavorite among all classic megaman games. So I find it kinda surprising some people including whoisthisgit, can pick theris so easily, let alone an unfavorite.
2 things annoying in the game is the boss that you need to use Crash Man ability to win and the final boss, with the wortst weapon ever, F*CKING BUBBLES
GF ThePlayer It's not that hard, you just gotta keep playing. I beat Mega Man 2 on difficult. Okay, I was on emulator, but I didn't use rewinds or save states. Okay, I *TECHNICALLY* used a save state. But fuck me if I'm writing down a save password in this day and age.
Yeah, I got to play Megaman 2 recently since I've been hearing so many positives comments about it and I was greatly frustrated by this level and started to wonder if I had truly what it takes to appreciate a Megaman game even though I still have a lot of experience in 2D Platformers. Glad to know it's not just me who had problems. I also heard about a terribly awful boss coming up at Wily's Castle... Of the "Unavoidable Damage Maze immune to everything but the Crash Bomber" kind.
Do notice that, even if the metal blade does no damage to this chucklefuck, it forces him to stop moving completely. If you were to alternate between the Metal Blade and Mega Buster, would that work as a strategy?
I know in the NES era games were either WAY too hard, or they just had a pattern you needed to learn... One thing is sure....I start having fun while playing only when a challenge approaches, my brain feels like...liberating
Vartholome Hell, MM1 is better. Even though it has a points system and a stupidly ridiculous punishment for forgetting to get that magnet beam item. You have to go all the way through Elecman’s level just to get the damn thing.
If we are talking about levels that are require trial and error to beat them, then is any of the evil levels from Battletoads going to be in this series? Because I can name about five off the bat that do that to a degree that you will have to play the game over and over again just to start to memorize the level.
Did you knew that the laser beams got nerfed in Abobo's adventure ? In that game, those damned laser beams reappear in the mechabobo stage, but as raygun and Star Wars laser sabers, plus, they take more time to send their lasers, so it's quite easier to avoid them !
Mega maker's description of the background: "Strike fear into your opponents with a reminder of *the force bean segment* " Edit: No, i did notice I spilled bean. But it's funny.
I Have To Agree, While I Do Like Mega Man 2 And I Do Like Quick Man, I Agree That His Stage Is Pretty Annoying, And I HATE The Killer Lasers, They Are So Annoying!
I've tried every Megaman game (except for 8, 9 and 10) and 5 was my favorite. It's the only one that I could beat (with savestates because I suck at videogames) and I think it's good because it has a good cast of robot masters and nice graphics.
Could you maybe do some kind of video on Einhander? It's a on rails shooter made by Square. They were tired of ruling the RPG genre, so they tried a shooter game and it worked really well for a first attempt. Some sort of a video on it would be nice.
one word: i LOVE your videos, why?Because there is always text and i m bad at english voice understanding, thats it and i like your creepy bad ending video too.
well, for quickman you CAN use metalblades since metal blades stop him up for a secound you can rapidly swich weapons and damage him easly air shooter also works against quickman, like you showed also atomic fire and crash bomber as for the lazer spam section, like you said it's hard at first but it's not imposible, the thing you need to do is stick to the walls when you fall also the yoku blocks from heatman's stage are FAR more cheap
Ah, quickmam. The original "gut gud" if they had the sliding mechanic in 2 I'd be perfectly fine. But nope, instead you need to have sharp reflexes and 20 lives (or cheat with save states but you know) just to get to quick man
I always liked quickmans stage but looking back it was kind of a beginners trap and was really more about memorization than reflexes which is a bit cheap but still I never had a problem with it myself.
"Most massive"? You must be kidding. Sure, it has two more levels. What else? Tweaked physics? Like what? The dissapearing blocks in Heat Man's that already were in Mega Man 1? The trolleys from Wily stage 4 that already were in Guts Man's stage? The sliding on ice mechanic in Flash Man's that Ice Man already had? You could argue that items 1-3 were new but they let you did nothing that Magnet Beam did prior. It gave us the Energy Tanks - though of little use considering they were gone after you got a game over. *Worse!* 1 let you revisit stages - 2 did not! Music is a matter of taste. Yeah, I really dig 2's soundtrack. Very memorable. But all were good, and 6's OST is stuff of _legends_. That's not an update, either way. All the games are good, but 2 is by no means the best and I really wish people would stop blowing it up as if Capcom shouldn't have even bothered to go on after 1988. EDIT: Tell me how you could beat Wily without Bubble Lead in 2 and how you could not beat Wily in 1 with the buster.
Only stage i had to actually be sirius (yes I just made that joke) because with metal blade enemies are no problem xD Edit: I ran out of ammo for metal blade when I played this, so I didn't know he was immune to metal blade
Yeah, i hear you man. Quickman exists only to be killed forever for this stages torture, and he deserves noting less. Including that one time Shadowman murdered him. Karma.
I think the Flash Man's weapon was made to cruise thru the level more than using it aains Quick Man, as the dude is pretty much easy to defeat with your default weapon
I think that MM2 is one of the best from the NES series. But, you've got that right: There's lot of trial and error. And that, for new players, sucks big time. I remember when I was a kid and the Quick Man level seemed like an impossible feat I'd never be able to beat. First time I got to the boss room I was so happy! ... The next thing I remember after that are 3 quick boomerangs flying towards me and making me explode, taking out my last life. Also in some Wily stages, if you don't use correctly some of your weapons and items, you can have a very, VERY hard time trying to get through the levels, specially with the 4th level boss: The wall turrets. They can only be killed by Crash Bombs and nothing more than Crash Bombs. And you have to use each one of 'em correctly, because if you don't and you run out of bombs, you WILL have to forcibly lose and farm energy again. And also, you don't start exactly near the boss room. You have to go through some annoying parts again... and good luck with the Sniper Joes and their damn jumpy machines, farming from them is like trying to chew water. D: With all the feels and pain back under the bed, just have to say: Great review, as always!
SebaOutbreak It's one of my least favorite so far. That said, I would play it again. The only thing that bothers me about this game is the orb boss you need the crash bomber to defeat, and even then it's not enough to put me off.
How about the buebeam trap boss fight from Wily Stage 4? Quick Man's stage is acceptable to me personally but the buebeam trap is just unfair. By unfair I mean worst than the Yellow Devil(I might be a bit bias as I've played Mega Man 1 more).
Elecman's stage is fairly easy, the guy himself is a joke if you have Cutman's ability. Because Iceman's weakness is Elecman's ability, you'll probably have the magnet beam by Iceman's stage, making it a joke. Fireman I'll give you, but it's only a problem at the boss rush. The ziplines are at the very start, making it less frustrating when you get a game over. There are times when Gutsman's weapon is required to proceed. The red guys can be frozen with Iceman's weapon, and lastly, magnet beam.
i always did the same in this satge, pactice timingto dodge the alsers and use the flash stoper to defeat quickman. But the worst boss battle in this game is Crash man when you don't hace the power up from air man. I swear i was suffering for the difficulty of crashman without air shooter.
Heat Man's was pretty cheap as well, with the inviso-bitch block bollocks over insta kill lava (which is of course were all the power ups you get from killing the enemies always land).
This is my favorite stage in MM2, though I can't blame you for hating it. I think if the checkpoints were laid out better, then the second laser challenge would be much less annoying to learn. The stage is also really short, so that's a plus, right? I find heat man's main doku block challenge in his stage a bit more annoying, mostly because if the doku blocks don't load in correctly then the pattern can become really annoying to deal with (I know item 2 eliminates that problem, but after beating a game 100 times, you kind of want to challenge it in different ways). It is fun when they do appear in a less erratic pattern, though. Oh and, I also agree that MM2 is quite overrated, but people have their tastes. I can't really talk since my favorite MM is 8.
I like 2 for its soundtrack. Every song is gold. However I've only beaten it once, because the cheap shit just weighs it down. All the instant death traps in pretty much every stage, that fuckin wall boss, the final one being weak to one weapons etc. So much of this game is just obtuse for the inexperienced player
This and Heat Man's stage are awful. Well, MM2 has a lot of issues in general (no balance to weapons, cheap traps/memorization, etc...), but probably none as bad as these stages. For Quickman, you would have to know you need the time stopper, well, ahead of time. If you don't have it, you almost certainly will game over unless you go through the hassle of memorizing it. For Heat Man, there's basically no way to avoid that final long stretch of blocks unless you have Item 2 from beating Airman's stage of which again, you'd never know on a first play. So they share similar issues of annoyance and generally bad design.
I always beat Quick Man fourth, and he isn't very hard, really. I guess I have memorized the patterns, and can save Time Stopper for the boss. Also, I have to argue when you say Metal Blade is the best in the game. I love it, but Quick Boomerang is better for me. One thing nobody seems to mention is that the Boomerang is fully automatic, and aside from that, it has even more energy than the Metal Blade.
When falling I use the pause technique where every pause of game and cancel the pause will cause megaman to quickly fall as a blue straight line. It works when going straight down. Flashman ability can dmg quickman D: i didn't know that xD.
Wanna something even worse? Heat man stage without the proper item. And yes, i'm talking about that annoying and long disappearing block segment.

2 is alright, but I still think Mega Man 3 is the best of the NES games. It introduced two of the series' biggest mainstays: sliding and Rush. And being able to slide would've made something like Quick Man's stage MUCH more tolerable.
+SuperLlama42 being able to slide probably would have made it FUN.
too bad it introduced top man too
I prefer 8.
SuperLlama42 we need a ROM hack that does a cosmetic reskin of Rush for the items, and adds sliding

"Mega Man 2 is overrated."

In Mega Man 7? Yeah he was. That's pretty much my only gripe with that game.
i also didn't like the fight against freeze man cuz he can freeze you a lot which is really breaking the flow of the fight for me
Oh yeah he's pretty tricky. I recommend shooting him only when he's running toward you. He will try to jump over your shot, then you can slide under him. But when he attacks, focus only on dodging. Though the stalactites was always the annoying part for me.
his moving from side to side is also confusing
Go play 6 right away. If it's not the best Mega Man game there is, at least it's the best from 1-10.
It's not even close.
JohnACorp782 so sharing your personal opinion online makes you a whiny bitch?
I totally agree with you. The first time I played this level, I was like, "seriously game?" Not sure how this doesn't bother more people.
And the worst part is that the quick boomerang is even weaker then your default weapon.
+Kai Wheeler IT IS!?!? That was my favorite weapon!
Personally, I think Quick Boomerang is the best weapon in 2. It has lots of ammo, decent range and is all around fun to use. Almost every other weapon in 2 sucks ass (just like the game itself)
+Kenny McCormick What about the Metal Blades?
Sparky Only other non shite weapon in 2 really, though I don't use it that much because it's stupidly broken.
Damn you're the guy from Nico evaluates again
Which makes me wonder what version was he playing. He was probably playing on PAL, where the game is way more unforgiving. Quickman tbh wasn't really a big problem to me, just the lasers until I defeated flash man (who is a joke honestly). With that said, the level is awful if you don't plan beforehand, and megaman 2 in general can be really frustrating in that sense, but boy it feels great when beating it. Heat man on the other hand is a terrible stage near the end (fast faller + unpredictable platforms = disaster), and worst part is that the boss is a joke.
Damn, you're a masochist
I really liked 2 (mostly for the music) and I agree it's not as good as some later entries but my favorite is probably 7 (proto shield up) I think what hurt 7's reputation was comparing it to the X series since 7 and X2 were released around the same time.
I'm sure that a lotta people agree that Quick Man's stage is the worst.
Heat Man's stage is worse in my opinion because of those dang disappearing blocks.
I personally hate Leaf Shield:
It's a misnomer; it won't protect you from any projectiles.
I remember 10 years ago i always cried and asked my dad for help with the last part of quickman's stage. THOSE LASERS MAN. *THEY RUIN CHILDHOODS*
You can't. That was introduced in Mega Man 3.
Out of all the levels Megaman X5 felt the need to call back to, it had to be this one
Yup, Mega Man 2 is my favorite alongside Mega Man 3.
I always hated quick man's stage sure, but the music in the stage is really epic, fitting for a frustrating level. I am always able to get past it without time stopper.
6:17
However, When he blocks it...
He stops moving.
That means you can throw a crash bomb at him. Just hope he jumps into it.
Basically...
>Throw Metal Blade
>Throw Crash Bomb
>Hope for the best.
Rinse and repeat.
I happen to love this level, but when I first played the game in 2003, I was pulling my hair out! X_X Your points are totally valid! And although I enjoy QM's level & fighting him, it does seem to be badly designed. Subscribed.
Ghaleonh41 2003? Mega man collection for PS2 or GameCube?
Original NES version. Bought the PS2 version the following year when it came out.
If you did "dishonorable mentions" in this video, then Heat Man's stage (MM2), Guts Man's stage (MM1), and Ice Man's stage (MM1) would've been obvious choices.
+Extremmefan and ring mans stage(mm4)
Jyothi Murthy Yeah, that one too.
Mine were mostly based on not just my own experience of Mega Man games, but also others' (Ultimate Yoshi, the sprite comic "To Defeat Them All", etc.), but I can see where you're coming from with Ring Man's stage (MM4). Those damn rainbow laser platforms...
Extremmefan and 4 mini bosses
Jyothi Murthy That, too. XD
Don't forget:
Burner Man's stage
Astro Man's stage (MBB)
Frost Man's stage
6:42 Quick Man might be even more of a Prick to Mega Man once you realise the Quick Boomerang weapon you obtain for defeating him makes Mega-Man Pink *Doh!*
the moment I saw 0:24 I instantly gave the video a like
0:30 I agree.
Plus, anything to say on the music in the stage?
my most hated stage was heat-man.... quick-man second.
He may have the worst stage but Quick Man has the best music *hands down*
To answer that question at 5:24, before you enter the doorway to Quick Man, and if you already used the flash stopper to pass the laser part of the level, try and kill off the respawning Sniper Joe Walkers until you gain more ammo for the flash stopper so you can still use it against Quick Man.
Even in the Legacy Collection this was nearly impossible.
this is my least favorite classic megaman game for 4 reason : 1.the level design 2.wily castle the stage not the music 3. the unbalanced weapon 4.THE BOOBEAM TRAP
Agustin Leguiza That boss it call the boobeam trap
THÁI ANH I agree with all of all of them, especially 4
The music was good, the bosses where sorta fun...BUT it's too goddamn DIFFICULT
GF ThePlayer It's not that hard, you just gotta keep playing. I beat Mega Man 2 on difficult. Okay, I was on emulator, but I didn't use rewinds or save states.
Okay, I *TECHNICALLY* used a save state. But fuck me if I'm writing down a save password in this day and age.
I do the same
GF ThePlayer What, beating it on emulator w/o cheats or using a save-state so you don't have to write down the save password?
using the save states,I mean,who wouldn't XD?
GF ThePlayer Ah, technology. If I can't have a real save, then I'll just make one. XD
So after 8 years, beat the boss yet?
Do notice that, even if the metal blade does no damage to this chucklefuck, it forces him to stop moving completely. If you were to alternate between the Metal Blade and Mega Buster, would that work as a strategy?
I know in the NES era games were either WAY too hard, or they just had a pattern you needed to learn... One thing is sure....I start having fun while playing only when a challenge approaches, my brain feels like...liberating
Quick Man is a piece of cake. His level though... thats the only time I'll ever use the Flash Stopper.
And you people still saying MM2 is DA BEST GAME??
Vartholome Hell, MM1 is better. Even though it has a points system and a stupidly ridiculous punishment for forgetting to get that magnet beam item. You have to go all the way through Elecman’s level just to get the damn thing.
Yes, and it's their opinion.
Vartholome 6 is the best.
6, 7 and 10 were all great games.
I love Quick man
If we are talking about levels that are require trial and error to beat them, then is any of the evil levels from Battletoads going to be in this series? Because I can name about five off the bat that do that to a degree that you will have to play the game over and over again just to start to memorize the level.
Did you knew that the laser beams got nerfed in Abobo's adventure ?
In that game, those damned laser beams reappear in the mechabobo stage, but as raygun and Star Wars laser sabers, plus, they take more time to send their lasers, so it's quite easier to avoid them !
Mega maker's description of the background: "Strike fear into your opponents with a reminder of *the force bean segment* "
Edit: No, i did notice I spilled bean. But it's funny.
elec man also had a horrendous stage in megaman 1 can you say sheer vertical platforming
I completely agree, the same as MMX5 Sigma's Stage 1; the players should be tested by their reflexes, not by trial and error.
I Have To Agree, While I Do Like Mega Man 2 And I Do Like Quick Man, I Agree That His Stage Is Pretty Annoying, And I HATE The Killer Lasers, They Are So Annoying!
Finally someone agrees that Quick man's stage sucks.
+kjbkirby Yet I thought I AM minority when I say I dont outright hate this level at all...
For Helix's sake i hate the insta-kill candy bars
The irony behind this is that i JUST watched Arin on Gamegrumps ace this level with no problem
The fangame mega man arena brought back a section from this level as a place to fight other robot masters.
I never could beat this hell hole of a level on the NES. I had to save scum the shit out of it on the 3DS.
So glad someone feels my pain.
I've tried every Megaman game (except for 8, 9 and 10) and 5 was my favorite. It's the only one that I could beat (with savestates because I suck at videogames) and I think it's good because it has a good cast of robot masters and nice graphics.
5 is the easiest. any boss can be killed with the charge buster. I do agree that the proto stages are hard but still...
Cheese Wheel what is so hard about 2 with save States I find 2 tbh
If Metal Blades don't affect Quick Man, what DOES hurt him!?
Could you maybe do some kind of video on Einhander? It's a on rails shooter made by Square. They were tired of ruling the RPG genre, so they tried a shooter game and it worked really well for a first attempt. Some sort of a video on it would be nice.
Are you sure you're not talking about Kaizo Marioman 2?
As far as I can tell, the metal blade does stun Quick Man for a while ( 6:13 )
Hey, ever thought up of putting up a series for frustrating bosses?
one word: i LOVE your videos, why?Because there is always text and i m bad at english voice understanding, thats it and i like your creepy bad ending video too.
I'll overlook pretty much all flaws of classic Mega Man games just because the music is so good.
"...and he is a prick."
Was that a Mega Man Sprite Game reference?
0:18 WHAT IS the songs NAME please somebody tell me
Mega man 2 title theme
well, for quickman you CAN use metalblades
since metal blades stop him up for a secound you can rapidly swich weapons and damage him easly
air shooter also works against quickman, like you showed also atomic fire and crash bomber
as for the lazer spam section, like you said it's hard at first but it's not imposible, the thing you need to do is stick to the walls when you fall
also the yoku blocks from heatman's stage are FAR more cheap
The yoku blocks at Heat man's stage are no more cheap than Quick man's force beams, as they are simply another pattern you need to memorize.
Ah, quickmam. The original "gut gud"
if they had the sliding mechanic in 2 I'd be perfectly fine. But nope, instead you need to have sharp reflexes and 20 lives (or cheat with save states but you know) just to get to quick man
Sharp reflexes, yeah.
But 20 lives?
Stop contradicting yourself.
Why do the yellow lasers instakill you? That's not how it works in Mega Maker.
I always liked quickmans stage but looking back it was kind of a beginners trap and was really more about memorization than reflexes which is a bit cheap but still I never had a problem with it myself.
I prefer Mega Man 6 to be honest. 2 just feels like an update.
+ShadowBladeX Someone that actually _has taste and has played the rest of the games!_
+DontDropSoap me to
my fav is the original
6 was my first, I think.
I can’t beat Quick man stage without rewind or save states if my life depended on it.
Only stage i had to actually be sirius (yes I just made that joke) because with metal blade enemies are no problem xD
Edit: I ran out of ammo for metal blade when I played this, so I didn't know he was immune to metal blade
At least Item-2 can help you get over that with no problem; and even then it's easier to memorise the block pattern.
Yeah, i hear you man. Quickman exists only to be killed forever for this stages torture, and he deserves noting less. Including that one time Shadowman murdered him. Karma.
i really like the laser bit, but i cant stand quick man either
I think the Flash Man's weapon was made to cruise thru the level more than using it aains Quick Man, as the dude is pretty much easy to defeat with your default weapon
the lazers sound like death sounds from Bomberman Party Edition
With all the feels and pain back under the bed, just have to say: Great review, as always!
SebaOutbreak It's one of my least favorite so far. That said, I would play it again. The only thing that bothers me about this game is the orb boss you need the crash bomber to defeat, and even then it's not enough to put me off.
worst stage on megaman series ever
So this is the reason Quickman.Exe is so annoying, his classic counterpart and his stage are the creations of satan
I'd say Heat Man would be a close second, right?
i always did the same in this satge, pactice timingto dodge the alsers and use the flash stoper to defeat quickman. But the worst boss battle in this game is Crash man when you don't hace the power up from air man. I swear i was suffering for the difficulty of crashman without air shooter.
Then again, If you get lucky with the Crash bomb, You can nail him.
And that could also be a good time to charge up atomic fire.
Heat Man's was pretty cheap as well, with the inviso-bitch block bollocks over insta kill lava (which is of course were all the power ups you get from killing the enemies always land).
Actually, I can handle your opinion on mega man 2 (love)
I absolutely HATE this stage's ear-grating music.
those lasers?
NO GOD PLEASE NO!
NO!
NOOOOOOOO!
Wat....I loved the game! Why wasn't it the dragon level though (9-1)
Oh boy, it finally happened - I found someone who thinks that mega mon is jusht an overrated piece of c**p.
Well, the entire Mega Man saga is notorious for its difficulty, but this is hell! D:
4:54 Two words : Air Power
Heat and quick, just a couple of pricks!
And Crashman too
God i hate all their stages
Quick man stage, while cheap as heck, I didn't really have problems. I can't get through Heat Man without the rocket!
I thought you could slide in Megaman 2. If so that would make it easier to avoid some lasers.
Another reason to have a great story telling us how evil he is, don't you agree?
I think we all expected this... in some form.
Dangit Lub Lub! Why do kill that guy so much?
Sis you ever get around to that X5 Signa stage?
*did
Not yet, but maybe I should some time soon.
When falling I use the pause technique where every pause of game and cancel the pause will cause megaman to quickly fall as a blue straight line. It works when going straight down. Flashman ability can dmg quickman D: i didn't know that xD.
Quick tip: Quick Man is also weak to the Crash Bomber.
