It's amazing how four kids of 20 years old could create such a great album; with a very curious sound mix, arrangements and imaginary. Always loved this album
@@Mrdrowning245 might be more complex & diverse but WIITB is simply a masterpiece from start to finish.. Never gets old. All opinion obviously but I think it’s in a different league to Hello..
From one fan to another, I completely understand what you mean, the whole album helps remind yourself of the values we stood for as youth and how important the message was back in 2007
I love that they put their whole album here to listen to for free. Old album or not, that's fuckin cool of them. I love when a band does stuff like that. Tells me their more about the music than the money. Real MUSICIANS. Good shit, great album.
They're solid lads that love their fans. Once they were doing a gig in a stadium and a couple of fans were rejected to come in to a sound check by security so the singer Rou came out to give them all coffee.
I remember seeing enter shakari in a small little pub in Southampton UK called the joiners. they were just starting out as a band and ever since then I've watched them grow. there one of the best British bands out there. bring on slam dunk 2017
Listened to this album die hard while playing Elder Scrolls Oblivion back in '07-'08. Listening to this album brings back memories of that game, playing that game brings back memories of this album. Good times, love both.
Mothership is the perfect example of everything Enter Shikari is about. No limit on the "style" of music presented, switching seamlessly between EDM, punk, metal and a whole lot else all in a single track that hits hard and captures you from start to finsish
@@charizardmaster13 yeah, I meant British bands. There were a few on the scene at the time. Nobody made it as big as Shikari but there was a definitely a scene of people trying to do that sound. Haha it feels so long ago now!
Please someone rewind time so I can go back to when this first came out. I remember seeing them in a tiny venue in Leicester called the Charlotte and I was hooked ever since!
Ten years ago this was out and I was a junior in high school.. Fast forward to last night, I went to the 10th anniversary tour with my fiancee.. Phenomenal. Glad to have grown up with their music. AND STILL WE WILL BE HERE STANDING LIKE STATUES
i remember the days when this album came out and how odd was the sound to my peers in south europe. in 2022 its still unique and fresh to me. one of the rare albums i can listen without skipping a song
Fucking hell. Just rediscovered this Album in its sheer bloody wholeness. After ten years not listening it all comes back. Fucking shattered mate. Legends.
Something about Electronic/Metalcore just gets me, makes me feel that 2000s nostalgia like I'm playing my gamecube while eating a lunchable. I miss those times but they're long gone, thankfully I still got the memories :)
I remember when this first came out, heading to college on the bus listening to this everyday for 2 years. Seeing ES in Falmouth UK. With all my friends. Such wonderful time to look back on but at the time trying to figure out what was going on in the world. This album brought so much peace and also allowed us all to get together and just live our best life.
At 38 I was the oldest at a Dublin gig 2007 LMAO, during promotion of this unique album, love this album, still in cd player often, always on iPod, today delighted to find a stream!
I was about 40 when i caught the last part of this film clip on TV in Adelaide South Australia 10 or so years ago lol - So fresh and exciting - I just had to get my hands on the cd. A very unique band.
The first I time I went to a shikari gig (back in 07) I remember walking out the venue afterwards to find out my generation was waiting for their kids to pick up........
The nostalgia this album brings me. After all these years I still know every lyric, every note. I have goosebumps and I'm so happy I could cry Thank you for uploading this, so very much ❤️
Traveling to see them twice this weekend. Take To The Skies has had more influence on my life than any other album in the last decade, and I say that as a musician and DJ. This is real music.
Knowing the lyrical basis is more story telling / fiction... This album has an esoteric vibe that imo... actually hits more now than ever before... trippy !
I remember that fateful day in 2007 when I was introduced to Enter Shikari by a friend. I went to watch one of their shows and I've been a massive fan ever since. Call it nostalgia glasses but this album is still their greatest work in my opinion. Jonny Sniper inspired my Xbox Live name back in the day haha. Shikari for life!!!
10 years on and I still love this album so much! The nostalgia... I had my first mosh pit experiences hearing this live. And now age 24 I've rekindled my love for it, the lyrics have a whole deeper meaning to them. Yaaaaaas!!
Just got back from the ten year tribute to this album and it was amazing!!! The crowd was so incredibly into the whole show it was awesome! On top of that In Your Memory and Being as an Ocean were some of the best headliners possible!! I give a massive thanks to the Baltimore Sound Stage and the band's that performed. It was an awesome night that I couldn't have asked for to be better, but in the end, 'Still we will be here, standing like statues!'
I want to say that I'm glad that they didn't stick to this sound that they had in this album. Rather than try to recreate this and focus on a specific type of sound that was Take to the Skies, they continue to expand their musical horizon and persevere in the art of music, stepping the boundaries on each release. This is no doubt my favorite album by Enter Shikari, but the fact they left it alone as a stepping stone in their musical career and CONTINUED to KEEP stepping boundaries is what makes this album one of the best of all time and what makes Enter Shikari one of the most outstanding and most progressive bands of all time.

I can't wait to seen where they go from here on out.
