Ms. Sayesha Chowdhury - the youngest TABLA player of Delhi Gharana. At the age of just 6,
she was awarded by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. as a CHILD PRODIGY in the TABLA
ART form in November 2022 under the Born to Shine program. The Born to Shine scholarship
program was open for girl child prodigies between the age category of 5 - 15 years. Out of
thousands of eligible applicants, she is the only girl child who has been selected in the field of
playing the toughest instrument like TABLA which is a male dominion.
She is being nurtured and trained in the traditional Delhi style of Tabla by her grandfather cum
Guru Pandit Keshab Kanti Chowdhury who is a world-renowned Tabla Maestro and percussionist. Her Guru is learning and disseminating this form of Art amongst the young generation for the last 40 years across the world.
ABOUT HER PERFORMANCES:
At the age of 2 and ½ years (two and half years), she gave her first public performance on Cajon in a chorus on the occasion of Independence Day. Thereafter, at the age of 3 (three), she
gave a formal and traditional Tabla solo recital along with Nagma at her school on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, where she was able to gather tremendous appreciation.
Simultaneously, during the pandemic, she started performing on her grandfather’s UA-cam channel under the banner of Sangeetika Music Society, which was much appreciated worldwide and came into the realm of the audience of Tabla groups and other music-related organizations. Thereafter, she has been invited to perform LIVE on international platforms like i) Sarb Akal Music Society of Calgary, Canada ii) California TV, USA iii) World Tabla Council iv) Drums Talk TV, USA (Facebook channel by Founder & Drummer Dan Shinder), etc. on an ongoing basis. She has been adored worldwide through her performances.
Recently, she started performing Tabla solo recitals LIVE and has performed for i) Baba Allaudin Khan Foundation under the aegis of the Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Memorial Society, Chiitaranjan Park ii) Has been invited to perform for National Power Training Institute, Faridabad (a Govt. of India undertaking) iii) been invited by Swami Hiteshwar Maharaj Ji who is a senior disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj.
She recently performed a Tabla solo, accompanied Kathak and percussions in Music for Peace
& Unity organised under the banner of Sangeetika Music Society on 15th April 2023 in Andhra
Association where eminent Artiste such as Pt. Shubendra Rao (Sitar Maestro & Seniormost
disciple of Bharat Ratna Late Pt. Ravi Shankar), Sangeet Natak Akademi (UP) Awardee Pt.
Mukesh Sharma (Sardo Maestro), Sangeet Natak Akademie Awardee Pt. Rajendra Gangani Ji
(Chief Guest & World renowned Kathak Maestro) and other were part of the Musical night.
She has been blessed by the world renowned Artistes like Ustad Zakhir Hussain Ji (Legendary Tabla Maestro & Padma Vibushan), Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri (Tabla Maestro & Padmi Shri-Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee), Pt. Rajendra Gangani, Sangeet Natak Akademie Awardee & Kathak Maestro, Pt. Sajan Mishra, Legendary Vocalist, Pt. Pinky Singh Namdhari Ji, Ustad Aman Ali Bangash, renowned Sarod Vadak, Pt. Shubhendra Rao (Disciple of Bharat Ratna Late Pt. Ravi Shankar), Vidushi Padma Shri Smt. Sumitra Guha Ji (Legendary Vocalist) and others.
Recently she performed a LIVE talk and demonstration of Tabla solo in DD National in Morning Show of Arts & Culture, in Delhi.
