Growf is unintentionally super clever because its a pokemon example of carcinization, the evolutionary phenomenon where arthropods keep evolving into crabs. We need more carcinized pokemon, so this was great Also Mudsdile is once again, so kind to my inner palaeontologist. A horse crocodile turned into horse is just great, plus with the kelpie and the mud connection and the Skeledirge Fuecoco connection, just *chefs kiss*. Also A dirge sounds kinda like dirigible, meaning something that can be steered, like a horse. Also also, dirge means a somber song lamenting the dead, a song like one sung by a siren, who are water creatures that lure people to drown them, just like a kelpie. PS. Turtmite is one of the most official looking fakemon I have ever seen, like, the rendering, the pose, its just so sugimori. Learning that the king crab is not actually a crab just made me realize something about the Krabby line. Jack said that the King Crab is not actually a crab. However, Kingler is based on the King Crab. On top of this, information from a video about Krabby made by Lockstin revealed that its name comes from the word "krab", which in restaurants and grocery stores was meant to mean that the crab was not actually crab, but just meant to taste like it. From this I can determine that the Krabby evolution line is already not a crab!
Most crabs actually aren’t real crabs, a lot of them just evolve into crabs. It’s like a whole thing, there’s just tons of crabs that aren’t real crabs but evolved all the same characteristics.
Hecc I just commented on this, I didn't realize this was already here. Either way, yeh, Krabby be likely imitation krab dish, not a crab. So, we have Krabby line which are just spider-crabs (not true crabs). The Paras line, which are cicada nymphs, even if they look like crabs. The Corphish line which are more akin to Crawfish and Lobsters. Dwebble line, which are hermit crabs (also not true crabs). The Crabrawler line which are coconut crabs to yeti crabs (which are bigger hermits). And now we have Klawf, a land crab... though its spelt with a K like Krabby, hmmm.

Perhaps something to be for later projects if any of you all feel like it?
A cool idea for Turtlugg (at least to me) would have been that whatever kind of mine it had made it's home and took rocks from, it's shell would have took on that mineral color. Only the area where the purple is located. But it is a cool ass concept regardless.
Kinda reminds me of Sawsbuck. Where depending on which fawn you have, you get a different seasonal form. So maybe it can have that similar concept.
This is honestly my favorite series of yours to date, I can't wait to see the next one :D :D :D
I love this series soooo much, the ideas that y’all come up with and always having some new faces (or I guess voices) is awesome!
Also, the whole video I was mesmerized by Claire’s voice I’m not even gonna pretend I’m a simp for Claire’s voice 😂 and even some of the vocabulary she was using while describing stuff during the Spider crab bit (can’t remember the exact words) blew my mind cuz I’d never heard them before
Krabish looks like it's evolved to have a similar shell to that of Heracross and I'm surprised no one mentioned that because even if it wasn't attentional it still feels connected to other species in the way it developped and evolved.
I love these videos where there are different ideas on the same prompt. Keep it up
I was so excited to see Claire!! I absolutely love her rendering and that her Pokemon were unique and fun while not going incredibly out there in terms of inspiration! Krabbish and Vladikrab are so fun; I love bug types and almost anything that's an invertebrate, so Jack's designs are almost always up my alley
My kids and I love this channel. I used to do Pokemon commissions for people and my kids now love to draw Pokemon too, so this channel is right up our alley
This is one of my favorite series for sure
Turtlugg is actually great, I love all the thought put into it, and the design is so appealing as well!
this series is one of the ones i am looking most forward to.
I love this series! It's cool how you guys draw inspiration from biology and history and come up with these cool designs. I also like the deep analyses, they can sometimes get funny lol. This was great! 💯
Very talented artists 🤯 Good job everyone keep it up ❤
Most easily identifiable convergent evolution would be wings. Bugs, birds, and bats all evolved wings in separate ways.
Vladikrab would be one of my favorite bug types if it were official. S+ tier design
I love how Vladikrab’s whole body kinda looks like a demented mantis head, leading even more into the bug typing
The Bergmite/Avalugg ones are VERY similar to the Delta Species from Pokémon Insurgence
I was just thinking that!
These are great designs! I love this series, Keep this going!
