When I create my patterns I usually looking how this looks like for pattern stitch, how will go stripes if I made from top down then star stitch stripes going horizontal it is what I do not want :) So it is up to pattern. Thank you! I also can't read patterns if I bought in a shop book or etc. too complicated for me. I write my patterns in my own way, maximum simple. For example I know how to knit, but when I read pattern there say yowy I do not know what to do with these letters :) so I understand you 100%. This what I write I think is very easy. In my patterns if you see 2 dc means 2 stitches in the same, if you see dc 2 means dc, dc ( dc in next two stitches).it is only what can be confusing if number before letter (means all stitches in next one stitch if number after stitches dc 7 means dc, dc, dc, dc, .....one stitch in next 7

How many star stitches for one year old?
You have to make a chain 7" long. I started with chain 29 for 6" hat height then you can add for example +4 stitches. To do not touch middle stitches you can add in begging and end. 2 stitches on each side. Make a few rows and measure.
Baby: 12 - 18 months
Head Circumference: 17"
Hat Circumference: 16 "
Hat Height: 7"
How many stars make to child 3 years old.thank you
I do not know because every child is different but you can try 2 stars more it's means 4 stitches more for chain.
Make 1 st row and measure to your some old hat to see ok or not.

You have to make chain 6"-6.5" long and even Nr.
all do the same like baby hat just where star stitches for you will be more star stitches, also crochet rows until fit around head exactly for your child. Better make smaller then bigger. Hat is very stretchy. Otherwise will be too big.

this hat you can add 4 chains I think. I had chain 29 you start chain 33 then need make extra star stitches crochet until fit around head 19-20", there where I have 18 stitch in the middle for you will be 22 stitches this need to try. 4 rows and then you will see how many inches you have for length.
