This is by far one of our most favorite pieces of gear in our off-grid trailer. The multi-color party mode is fun, but the red light option is HUGE. If my partner wants to read or write at night while I’m sleeping, he’ll use the SunLight. We also like to hang it on the outside of our Scamp in the evening as a patio light that’s super easy to recharge in the sun the next day. BioLite killed it with this one!!
So glad you're getting a lot of use out of it! And yeah, red night vision is clutch.

It reminds me of first generation GoPro cameras in its one button function set up, although to be fair, the GoPro was two buttons. Just received mine, happy with product, great functionality and different colours! Hopefully it will join me in many adventures to come! Great product, Biolite!

I have two of these.
On one, it keeps flashing green plugged in to usb charger.
On the 2nd one, it seemed to stop flashing altogether (when plugged in to usb charger, after flashing green for a while).

Ty @ ~ 5:30. That info needs to be added to your user manual & FAQ. I thought something was wrong, that the flashing was going to run down the battery, & wrote to ask how to make this stop. Please, for customer's sake add that the blinking white light indicates the sunlight is charging properly & this cannot be turned off.
Is this the same as Biolite Sunlight 100 Lantern portable solar power outdoor camping led light ?
Is it possible to save the colors you like and with only one press setting set the light to the color you saved before? Thx

Thank you for the instruction. I had problems with the demo mode. But I think the lamp is too complicated with one button and so many functions.
I agreed, i woild rather to have more button to control.

Does the Biolite Sunlite have a indicater when charging
Questions:
- Can this run full time on USB at my desk as an ambient light source when I'm not using it for camping? (like a desk lamp)
- Are the color LEDs dimmable like the white primary LEDs?
- Does the RGB allow cycling to a warm yellow amber? (similar color to one of those Himalayan salt lamp deals)

- I don’t see why not.
- No, sadly.
- Might take some fine-tuning adjustment to get the exact shade you’re looking for, but it cycles through the whole color spectrum, so it should be possible.
I have question, After few months of not using my two lamps, I decided to charge them, I put them on the sun but there was no flashing, so decide to use power, but no luck. Any advice? Maybe they are somehow lock or something? I didnt drop them or anything like that, they were just lying behind my tv. Thank you for any help

If I’m charging it using a phone charger in a wall outlet, how long until it’s supposed to start flashing green? It’s been 3 hours and is still flashing yellow....

I’m having an odd experience with mine. I have 2. After 4 days in the sun, they were both flashing red throughout, never amber or green. I then discharged them overnight and now this morning, one is charging (still only flashing red) but the other is not charging at all. Overall, they just don’t seem to be able to charge in anything but bright direct sunlight unlike my very cheap LUCE blow up light which charges even on a cloudy day behind glass and on dim lights a room all night. Biolite looks great, but the performance is really poor.
Tried to charge mine and not responding to charging in any way or turning on.
Can I just turn on to the white lantern and turn off without going through the different modes?
Yup! If you turn it off in white lantern mode, it'll turn back on in that setting.
Do i have to toggle through all modes even if i just want to use the regular white light?
Hey Alexander, the default setting is white, so if you only want white lantern mode, you should be all set to just click on and off.
I bought one. Its great! Simple to turn on and off. Does not have a bazillion flashing modes. Yet it can be dimmed easily, and various colors can be chosen.
Are these water resistance also? Curious. Thanks!
Our BioLite SunLight has an IPX4 rating which will hold up in a light rain, splash, or morning dew quite nicely. Hope this helped.
i'd like to watch another torch/lamp for comparison. A customer likes to choose either this ot that
How long will it run for? Does it time out after a while or just stay on until the battery runs out?
Hey Jenna, Runtime really depends on what mode you're using. The SunLight runs for up to 4 hours on High and up to 50 hours on Low. It will stay on and keep running until you turn it off.

@@jennamurphy9614 It works great as a night light and will last for a really long time if you dim it down a bit. Just keep in mind if you're leaving it on consistently overnight, you'll have to charge it up during the day.

The constant flashing while it's charging is super annoying. Perhaps include a small LED light on the side of the unit that indicates successful charging?

it's funny that somehow this thing is complicated and I need to go to the internet to figure out how it works
you should keep working on it. When it's low battery I should absolutely be able to dim it down. I should be able to dim down any RGB. Keep yourself the party mode. No one needs it. Having an equivalent of long lasting stealthy green or red chemical light would make even the military interested
why my biolight won't charge?
Same issue here. Only one out of 4 will charge via sunlight or usb.

Dreadfully poor instruction sheet. Especially since it doesn’t even seem to mention demo mode. So it was a good thing you made the video. Turns out it’s more useful than I thought. Just wish it had a lock mode. The stand on top is pretty lame for that.

What this light needs is a solar charger+ battery
It already has them...INSIDE!
too complicated for setting, without reading the manuel you can hardly know how to press once/twice or how long you should hold. To make it simple, i would rather to have more buttons to control.
Dim up? Dim means to reduce light output. It doesn't go both ways.
There is dim (reduce light intensity) or brighten.

@@BioLiteChannel Actually, A malapropism (also called a malaprop or Dogberryism) is the use of an incorrect word in place of a word with a SIMILAR SOUND resulting in a nonsensical, sometimes humorous utterance. So had you said dimming down or brighten pup 🐶, that would be a malapropism. We can wait on your critic to inform us of the correct word to use in this particular case since they have some form of of OBCD (yes, I get the irony here!)😉

@@eyeintheskyakagod let me clarify - all they had to do is put a USB port. I have a nice little guy that has a flashlight and - OMG - a port to charge your phone.

These lights are ABSOLUTE CRAP! I wasted $200 now maybe one of the 8 I bought still works! May want to find another product to push.
