    Thank you, for this step by step video. It's my first time doing an oil change on anything. I love my zero turn mower, and this gives me some confidence for the next biggie, Kubota tractor. Thank you for being kind to us newbies who have a learning curve, getting familiar with our necessary machines! I rewound it many times. Your sweet dog invited some humour, too!

    If you leave a new fancy mower like that running around here it will be gone when you re-open the garage door. My 30 year old Scag SSZ sits rusting out in my yard under a tarp because I let the ducks eat my lawn. You have inspired me to think about fixing it up and repainting so I am ready for the day I move from here to the country.

    Pull the tube out of the hole to take the plug off and put it back on. You don't have to do it from underneath the mower. Just keep the plug on hand tight after removing it to put it back through the hole and drain. Then you pull it out of the hole again to put the plug back on.

      Not sure why I never thought of that. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching.

    I’m trying to do the first oil change on mine and the plug is INSANELY tight. I cannot bust it loose. Any advice?

    • @DIYJIM
      @DIYJIM  8 місяців тому +1

      Maybe use some vice grips on the big part to hold it better. Hope you get it. They are tight

      @@DIYJIM Vice grips would’ve been a good idea but I finally managed with box end wrenches. Thanks though!

    How do you grease the front wheels and what tools did you use to grease them with?????

    • @DIYJIM
      @DIYJIM  Рік тому

      4:41 into the video I show this and I used a grease gun. I have a link to one in the description or first comment

      @@DIYJIM Good vid. I think you neglected to include the link to the grease gun. I can find others, but I'd rather hit your affiliate links. Also, you might update your link to the air filter. It's no longer available.

      @@southparkgdp if you click on one of the links then pick a grease gun I still will get credit. But I will try to fix it, thanks.

      It doesn't matter but you might want to change it a little sooner because you have less filter material.

    My first oil change around 8 hours. Oil filter is on so tight, I've ruined two filter wrenches trying to get it off. Using a crow bar now and the filter is collapsing
