    I remember having this cassette and rewinding it over and over again so I could learn the whole song. It took me a few day to learn to rap as fast as she did in this song. I haven't heard it in about 20 years, and I still know every word! LOL. I think I just impressed both of my teenagers!! 😂😂

    It was my internship at Betsy Johnson when I introduced her and the people in the workroom too the music of Queen Latifah, Neneh Cherry, and Monie Love, and the people said yes we like. One of the many, oh so many, important women in hip hop who deserves her place of honor.

    @DLCOrganizationAt the time-'89/90/91 I was ChrysalisUK/Cooltempo Aust. Label manager & responsible for Monie Love( also Adeva & Paul Simpson) releases. All singles & album were released & had great support from Clubs,TV & nat. radio Triple J. Think Grandpa's Party even charted well. We really believed and promoted. Vids were great & came from UK. Even had radio dj ready to do interview in UK for Triple J special but Monie about to have baby. Now can't get album on Amazon-2 dear. So here I am. X

    Always LOVE and enjoyed this very smooth classic hip hop song and video to its core.
    I was in 8th grade when it came out in 1990. Oh...the memories!!
    I always like the dancing from Monie and those 3 dancers right behind her. All 4 was killing it with those dance moves.
    If you notice...they were dancing with the music and beat!!
    That's my type of dancing and how you dance with the music

    Wow. The memories. When hip hop was just plain FUN, rap videos ruled, artists were orginal, different and sometimes intelligent and insightful. Monie had a sweetness bout her. She wasnt tryin 2 be a guy. She was just herself and had a nice flow. Bring back 90s Hip Hop!!

    This was my jam back in eary-to-late 1990! I wonder what Monie Love is doing these days?! The last I heard about her, she was DJ here in Philly on 100.3 The Beat, after that, she sorta disappeared, at least from Philadelphia radio. This song and "Ladies First" w/ Queen Latifah were my jams back in the day!

    Still oone of my favorites of the time. Played it constantly on my cassette player. Though she was rasied in the UK and came back and forth I still consider this East coast rap thought a little bubble gummy. When we talk female rappers she is still my favorite!! So underrated.
