  • Frightened Rabbit's big, bold indie-rock sound hit a high point with their 2016 album "Painting Of A Panic Attack." The album was produced by The National's Aaron Dessner and we look back fondly on this KCRW session and remember the talented and affable lead singer Scott Hutchison. Be sure to watch their stirring version of "The Woodpile."
    Set List:
    0:00 Get Out
    3:19 Woke Up Hurting
    7:23 I Wish I Was Sober
    11:04 Living In Colour
    14:27 Break
    17:33 Head Rolls Off
    21:55 The Woodpile
25:45 Die Like A Rich Boy

I’m never gonna get over to the powerhouse that was Scott both as a musician and a writer. Beautiful stuff.

I remember hearing the story that they were very concerned about the whereabouts of this young musician and then hearing about his eventual suicide and death. The story was so sad but for some unknown reason I was drawn to find out what type the music “Frightening Rabbit” made. From the name I thought maybe some type of Hard Core Metal Thrash Music but NO absolutely beautiful warm melodious music but tinged with a bit of sadness. Scott was so so talented. Thanks for releasing again this video and showing the world how great this band was....RIP Scott

Goddamn it. It is still, after all of this, no easier to take. Thanks FR. I miss this.

There aren't many songs that haunt like Scott's. His authenticity and raw talent echoes with us.

Such a great album. As is all their albums. Couldn't pick a favourite. They're all so powerful.
Been a fan since 2008 but never got to see them live (think they only toured Australia once) so these sessions are just brilliant to have.
I hope one day we get those final recordings for what would have been a new FR album. May not happen but even without Scott producing, his vocals and unique lyrics exist and it's better than nothing. I also hope someone writes a bio one day. There's already two books but a proper bio would be wonderful.
Respect too, to the other guys who often get overlooked. They were there for the whole journey too.
