Next time you need to motor directly into a big wind, you might try rolling out some or all of you staysail with it sheeted tight as close to centerline as you can. Then fall off just enough to fill the sail and motorsail to windward. I do that and get much greater speed, VMG and ride.

I wanted to ask you a question, but why when the wind exceeds the range of the Genoa, instead of rolling it, you don't use the staysail?
I believe that one of the main reasons why a staysail is mounted is precisely to save Genoa and not use it partially rolled.

It’s because there’s a big gap between the two sails. Tha staysail is good for upwind at 25 knots and 30 and above for anything else. In other words we would be a lot slower with this wind angle and wind speed. Thanks for watching!👍😊
I just got my small boat ready for the season. It’s in the water and I could get 2 sails in on my small inland body of water - an old meander of the Rhine river.

nice to see that a clean beach is important to you, much can wash up. the Turks and Caicos are almost at the end of humanities stretch, But, such massive mounts of human garbage makes it way into those zones. you had such nice sun and winds and temps. the 3 of you all smiles, thankyou for sharing info on Solar generation system, and again letting us see a part of your World. Remember when diving use "buddy system"🧜♂️🧜♀️ you never know who is down there with you🐙Be safe.....Peace🕊

Lovely footage & music as always. I like how you carefully share the experience, whilst navigating the issues such as the privacy of others.
I think Barbuda could do with the expertise of the UK Hydrographic Office with it's expertise in charting. Areas like this deserve the support and as part of the sovereign Commonwealth nation of Antigua and Barbuda, they hopefully have some influence.
In March 2022 the UKHO signed a collaboration agreement with The Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 Project to support the complete mapping of the world’s oceans by 2030.
A Million , I built 68 foot Irwin's back in 1984 to 1989 they were well over a million back then .
Cheers guys, Tis amazing watching Vera grow so fast, I actually had that model Johnson 15hp, never any issues with it, i loved the shallow drive lever, the only issue i had was the leg oil would always go dark, i used to change it at 5 hours instead of 10, it never caused a problem, but obviously the oil getting black was grinding of gears or something.. it may have just been my particular engine? But it’s worth keeping an eye on it..
