    I was in the same situation with my Corvette. My current tires are the Michelin PSS. Went to purchase a set of four Michelin Pilot 4S but can’t find the rears . So instead of waiting a couple weeks I pulled the trigger on these Continentals.

    • @seanboogie10

      Only tires available in 18/19/35 were these Conti's, so I just purchased them. Now I heard a few negative reviews about these tires. What is you're opinion one year later. Thanks

    • @HitsTownUSA
      @HitsTownUSA 2 роки тому +1

      @@seanboogie10 I have about 7,000 miles on them and I don’t notice any premature wear and they are still quiet (no road noise like I experienced with Goodyear tires). The ride and handling is better than all previous tires I’ve had on my Vette. Keep in mind these Continental tires are the first non-run flats I’ve owned so I don’t know how useful this may be to you. What were the review negatives? On a side note, I have Michelin pilot Sport 4S on my Mustang Bullitt and there is still decent amount of tread depth (I’d say around another 3,000 miles to go before hitting the wear bars). The car has 18,000 miles currently though I am starting to feel a harsher ride on the Michelin tires as they are closer to need replacement but that’s expected with a few thousand miles worth of tread life yet. Stay away from Pirelli P-Zeros, at 18,000 miles my rears were balding on my prior 2016 Mustang GT I had. I don’t do burnouts so this is average driving with occasional spirited highway runs. Hope this helps.

      @@HitsTownUSA Thanks for your response. I appreciate the feedback. One of the reviews I read went as follows: "If you have a tuned racing car or sports car The exteme contact sport is not for you. It can handle its own on a race track, but high horsepower applications may prove too much. On the street, however, its a different story".
      I'm not on the track so I'm not worried about it, however I do have a modified and tuned C5, so I got a bit concerned. I then looked at top ten tires for Corvette and this tire made none of them. I already bought them and Im waiting now.

      To those who are thinking of getting these tires (and have found this obscure comment) stay away from Continental. they're rated for 3 years, 30k and only lasted me half that. I don't track, and only a handful of hard launches, less than 5. I'm getting a half refund from the dealer that installed them after they digitally measured/evaluated them. Now I have to pay for more more expensive tires (inflation), installation fees, taxes, etc again. Nothing against this channel as this was his honest first impressions at the time, but as far as Continental performance tires, never again for me or anyone asking me about new performance tires.

    • @BLUPRINT1LE
      @BLUPRINT1LE  2 роки тому +1

      Wooow thanks for sharing that! I can’t believe they wore out on you that fast. I do the same about if driving as you. I did track them once and that will be my last as they shredded on me but I was curious on how they would do so it was expected. I will try their “track” version which is Extreme Force I think

  • @jancarloc2459

    Hey your rear tires overall height is smaller than the front . You should be running a 305/35 back there to increase height and keep that tire in a square profile . That's why you have a huge gap back there .

    • @BLUPRINT1LE
      @BLUPRINT1LE  4 роки тому +2

      Actually based on the wheel manufacturers where I bought the wheels and tires recommended this tire setup. Even with a 305 they recommend 30. Check out this link where they have different fitments for different use cases but I do see your point about the height. I was questioning about it too. support.apexraceparts.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012217473-6th-Generation-Camaro-Wheel-Tire-Fitment-Guide

      As far as road noise, I couldn’t really tell but my car is really loud with headers so I really didn’t hear it much. However the car did ride some and I got great traction out of the tires! I have no complaints

    Treadwear ratings are not universal, they are specific to each brand eco system. 300 Conti and 300 Mich are different wear ratings 🤷🏾‍♂️ wish they made it a standard.

    • @BLUPRINT1LE
      @BLUPRINT1LE  3 роки тому

      That’s true. The general public not going to look at it that way though or care about it. 300 treadwear is 300 treadwear no matter the brand to them.

    I had the nitto 555 g2, they do grip but they are horrible in the rainy season. Too many slips at red lights and much hydroplaning on my 2012 Dodge Charger. I now drive a 2015 Chrysler 300s and after switching to the continental extreme contact sport.. bro no cap very close to the Michelin pilot sports 4s.

      Yeah man that’s why I’m gonna replace my nittos with these too, it gets mad sketchy in the cold/rain. They’re perfect for somewhere hot and dry year round like California. No good for the east coast.

  • @cleysoptique8749

    contis are better than nittos lol nittos are hard tires and dont have great wet grip. Michelin is going to give you an extra 10-20% dry grip but how often are you at the limit? Contis are 10-20% better in the wet where you will be driving more frequent than on a track if you ask me haha. and they are 60-100$ cheaper than the Michelins anyways

    • @BLUPRINT1LE
      @BLUPRINT1LE  Рік тому

      I totally agree. The only difference I see as well is the sidewall. The sidewall on Michelin’s is more flat where as the Continental is more rounded too

    • @cleysoptique8749
      @cleysoptique8749 Рік тому +1

      @@BLUPRINT1LE That's because every time you're manufacturer will have some tire models run a little bit wider than others. The Michelin pilots super sports, the old tires. Those actually ran wider than the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. And the pilot super sports actually are inferior to the continental ECS tire. Just FYI.
      I prefer Continentals because they are more contoured for the sidewall and they're less squared off like you mentioned as a Michelin and for that it actually helps with fender clearance. Another reason some small differences can actually make the difference in fitting or not.

      Continentals are compared to the Michelin’s pilot super sports which i have on another vehicle. I haven’t tried the pilot super sport 4s on this vehicle. Big difference. Sorry for your lack of comprehension 😂
