I have a British shorthair who HATES cuddling😄. He is incredibly affectionate though, just in a different way. He prefers to lay near by.

I had big American Shorthair red tabby cat that was very sweet and friendly. He did act like a dog like a Maine Coon cat. He did weight at his heaviest was 20 pounds. He was a stray cat that had a very special bond with me. He did like my parents and my sister. We had another cat that we adopted before him as a stray,too. These 2 cats did became best friends in the cat world. I’m glad to had them in my lifetime. Never forget them because they were special in my ❤️.

The Hymalayan- Persian breed is very loving and loves to cuddle and to be held like a baby. I have NEVER in my life loved a Cat, but my beautiful Hymalayan Cat, "MR JAMEY" changed that four years ago. He's only four years old and is adorable. ❤
My 17 yr old just passed away but she was needy and wanted to cuddle since the day I got her at 6 weeks old. She literally followed me around the house slept in my arms everynight would greet me at the door and anytime i was sitting down she was on my lap. She was even known to cry her eyes out till I would lay down so she could sleep. I have never been able to get a direct answer on what breed she was maybe you can help me figure it out. I was trying to figure out a way to post a picture for you I cant seem to get it to let me. I can tell you she was a white with tabby markings and I would say medium coat domestic cat but thats all I know for sure.

I have the best cuddle buddies ever. They are a mix breeds and just as beautiful as pure bred kitties.
I had a couple of Tonks as a child. Loved them. I've never owned a cat as an adult, but my sister got two Tonks when she started a family. They were not cheap, but she REALLY wanted a pair of them.
My family adopted a senior tabby four years ago and he has been cuddly since day 1.
My Maine Coon Shadow loves cuddles and kisses and comes to meet me whenever I get home. In fact I hear him meowing for me from the other side of the door!
My drooling exotic shorthair was SUPER cuddly. As soon as I hit the couch, he was on my lap and wouldn't let up, lol. He would literally only get up to eat or use the litter. He would even sleep on my back or legs when I go to bed. I miss him dearly. RIP.

I adopted our cat from a local shelter about 6 years ago, when she was 10 months old. She's a tuxedo pattern DSH with yellow/green eyes. Her personality is amazing, and she is extremely intelligent. Our cat, Maybelle, knows everyone's names, where their rooms are, and can usually understand short sentences on a reliable basis. She's highly affectionate and kind. She always knows when someone isn't feeling well. I have chronic pain, and when I have a tough day, she won't eat, she won't sleep, or even get up. She lies with me, positioning her body on where I hurt the most and purring to try to soothe me. A really selfless, wholesome companion. When my wife comes home from work, she runs to the door to greet, every night. She's also very protective of the house, and she will behave aggressively toward anyone who gives off a bad vibe. On the flip-side, she does great with family when we have visitors - she's very nice and always says hello to everyone who comes over. She's a bigger cat, at ~15 lbs but very muscular and she's never had any health issues. I highly recommend a domestic shorthair to anyone because they're an absolutely wonderful breed.
My cat was free as a "not sure whatever breed" type of cat.
I'll remember it forever.
Her and her mom put of a half dozen were the only ones to come to me volutarily and I loved them, I do believe she picked me.
From people's comments over the years and looking up info I do think she's some type of main coon mix she had all the fur patterns of one.
She greets me at the door when I come home and is very needy for attention and cuddling.
Which is good and bad hahaha sometimes you want to do something but she's patting at you for attention.
You know what I mean if you have a cat that is very forward with using their paws to touch your face or arm in little taps or petting motions.
She isn't shy of rubbing into your face or laying into you at night. A wonderful animal.
If she is a main coon it fits your discription very well.
I have a ten-year-old turtleneck that was with me ever since I was a newborn baby she's still alive and she loves to sleep on my pillow at night and she also loves to rub her head against me and I love her as much as she loves me
My female Maine coon/mix will meow loudly while carrying one of my daughters shoes in her mouth as a gift and a sign that she wants me to sit or lay down so she can cuddle. Often if I'm busy a while she will have a pile of shoes and slippers waiting for me.
Her brother (from same litter) will reach out with his paw and pull my hand towards him for pats. He will climb shelves and to tops of chairs to be able to reach me and pull my hand in for a pat.
Cats are so wonderful 🥰

I had a Tonk that had to be surgically removed from my lap every night. Then peeled off om leg every morning in bed. Great bred smart and playful.

I have a domestic short hair cat that's extremely clingy.. He's a black cat. When we first met in a cat cafe, he just went and cuddled my arm and I decided to adopt him. He likes to sleep next my head, and jump onto my lap whenever he has a chance. When I took him to stay in my parents' place he learned to greet them when they return home. He's the sweetest baby I know ❤️
My bengal was super affectionate to me. A lot of cuddling, a lot of kittie kisses. Was very tolerant to other humans in the family but the cuddling was reserved for me.
My mom had both a ragdoll and a Maine coon when I was very little. Both were very affectionate, the Maine coon was like a second mother to me, but as I became a toddler I freaked her out and she scratched me on the face twice. I still love her, though, and will always miss her.
I've had burmese cats all my life and they have all been incredibly affectionate and they have all loved hugs
We have the most affectionate male "Tuxedo" kitten, absolute "lap cat", about 12 weeks old. However, his sister is a wound-up, can't sit still, nervous wreck! They were found outside, mother cat assumed dead, at about 6 weeks of age, but they are inseparable & we adopted them together.

There’s a Maine coon cat at my friends neighborhood and her nickname is boba, so whenever we take a walk together and bring cat food to feed the cats in her neighborhood we always go to boba first and she always runs up towards us! It’s so cute.

All cats have various personalities. Alot of it depends on how their kitten hoods were-were they socialized with people and other animals? I had a calico cat when I was younger, named SUGAR and she was very affectionate, loving, and a s loyal as a dog-she used to greet me at the door when I came home-and her purr was so calming and wonderful! I miss my late calico SUGAR!

I have several cats but my friendliest is a siamese, she's getting on a bit (14 years old) and has a few health issues but she's still super friendly and active, not a day goes by without her taking an afternoon nap on my lap and us having a conversation
tbh if you treat your cat right, they'll show all of these traits over time. We've had 5 cats and literally every single one developed extremely friendly greetings, cuddles, head bumps, nuzzles, and other various forms of affection.
Got a donestic shorthair so affectionate and loves to cuddle. Had a ragdoll as well affectionate but only on her terms no picking up. Cats are good companions.

I adopted a 2 yr old rescue that is a ginger/beige shot hair. From the moment i opened his cage at the SPCA and asked him if he was looking for me" . He immediately jumped into my arms and cuddled right in. He refused to put in the cage while the staff did their paperwork, He clung to me and I carried him around throughout the process with no protest. It was like he knew me already. He hasn't changed at all since i got him home. Super commanding for cuddles and doesn't like to be left alone. Recognizes my husband truck after work and greets him at the door for cuddles. I don't know what mixed breed he is but he is lovable, friendly and cuddly to everyone. Whatever mixed breed he may be - he is wonderful - so please consider recue animals.

I have two black cats-one a DSH and one a DLH. Azula, the short-hair was instantly a cuddle-r and Ziggy, the long-hair is cuddly on occasion, but it took him awhile to get to that point. I lived with a ragdoll who would throw her food dish against the wall if she didnt get her preferred meal. She would beat her paw against paper bags till the noise drove you insane. She would stare you dead in the eyes while you desperately tried to get her to focus on the feather toy you were waving in front of her. And if you were VERY lucky you would indeed get the best cuddle of your life. ❤️
Tuxedo cat. Zoey. She was a skitty kitty at first, but eventually got so I couldn't sit or lay without her trying to get up there with me. She'd just purr and purr and drool a little and purr. Moved out of there after a few years. She's doing fine and so is her owner, but I miss her. I hope she remembers me.

Yes, my cats are cuddly. They seem to be hybrids. But also if you socialize them young it helps. All of them but the one the mother wouldn't let us pick up are cudderlers. He is a super amazing cat, just less of a cuddlerler.
I had a cat don't know his bread. But he was super friendly and loving. When ever I was home he would always be in the same room some where he could watch me and be close. He often slept with me at night even going as far to crawl under the covers and rest his head on the pillow. When I went to school he would sit by me till I left, and when I came home we would run up to me all exited. Then I say hi to him he'd meow back then we'd go and scratch his post. And if I forgot he would sit there to remind me. I miss him so much.
What about the snowshoe? That breed is SOOOO cuddly. I have a cat from our local Humane Society shelter I was told was half Siamese and Snowshoe; but she has absolutely no Siamese characteristics and all Snowshoe characteristics, so I think the shelter was confused by her seal-tip markings. Also, you should note that Maine Coons that have been feral--even if they have a collar and tags--can turn to their wild roots the same as any cat. I adopted one that did at first. I eventually tamed everything but her unwillingness to urinate in the litterbox, so ultimately had to give her to the Humane Society to hopefully find a foster home willing to deal with the diapering. Unfortunately, she got returned from every home and eventually put down. I feel terrible often.
I had a little birman cat named eddie he was super sweet and affectionate, unfortunately he passed away last year but they are the best

I have a Mackerel Tabby (half Siamese half Tabby) who is and outdoor cat but is very friendly. He only growls and meows a lot. But he never attacks anyone. I highly recomend this breed because it is social cuddly and is often an outdoor cat like mine.
I have a ragdoll tabby mix. Her name is joy. She's affectionate but not extremely affectionate. But she is towards my dad. Most times she's just a troublemaker. You'd think she'd be laid back because she has ragdoll in her but nope.
I rescued a cat back in the early 80's. He always loitered at the back door and always got fed and tolerated, never invited inside. After a month he felt secure enough to jump into my lap. It wasn't 5 minutes before I was headed to the vet. Basic handling of the cat told me that his lower GI was acute and tender. After initial vet check-up, the vet suggested that I euthanize this...tomcat because of the prohibitive cost to fix him. She further went on to describe some of his other ailment including cystitis, kidney disfunction and all kinds of infections and torn tissues in his urinary tract. Bottom Line: $650 to possibly save his life. Remember what $650 could buy in 1980? I purchased a new Datsun B-210 for well under $2000 just 4 years earlier. But the surgery(ies) were, for the most part, experimental yet successful. And from the day we arrived back home with Tomcat, he was the best companion imaginable. He figured if I felt his life was good enough to save, he was going to save mine as well. And he did.
I found my calico cat at a rescue group when she was 7 months. She's almost 2 years old now and hates cuddling.
I had a Ragdoll that did not like to be held. He also did not like petted very much. He was definently not a lap cat. I still loved him though.

I had two Bengal cats. Different personalities, one was surprisingly quiet, the other very outgoing and bossy. Both v affectionate. Affectionate cats are wonderful for us, but you must have at least two, which get along. Bengals don't cope being alone. It's only fair to consider their needs too. But if you can do this, they will be a great asset to your life - and everyone in your household. But be warned - Bengals are so demanding that if you don't give them attention when they want it, they'll play up until you do!! Being v naughty is a speciality!! My bossy one used to knock my art pens pots over , and her favorite was standing right in front of the TV!!! The quieter one was an avid food thief!! Both were highly skilled in wrecking my carpet by the bedroom - side by side clawing at it!! They're wonderful cats to have, and you'll never have a full moment, though you may have a disrupted house !!!

never had a purebred cat so i don't know a specific breed,, but the cuddliest cats i've had have had some norwegian forest cat in them. my most recent addition is a calico female, her mom is a purebred norwegian and father unknown (domestic shorthair i guess) . she is the most affectionate cat iv'e ever had. always wants cuddles. she is sleeping on me right now.
another one of my cats is a white, blue eyed domestic. she has some persian in her family. she is incredibly intelligent and very social, she always has her tail up. she doesn't like to cuddle a lot but still likes to be pet. she sleeps at the foot of my bed.
my third cat, a tabby with white, domestic, was born in a foster family. he is very shy and incredibly kind. he likes cuddles but since he's really shy he doesn't always come up to me. i usually have to put him in my lap to get some cuddles (which he likes, i would never force him). hes the cuddliest when he wants food. he also gets extra cuddly when i brush him. so he is cuddly, but too shy to always show it.
