I had a male ragdoll for 18 1/2 years. He was the sweetest soul I’ve ever known. His passing last November broke my heart. I miss him each and every day.
I have two kitties (a Russian blue named Miguel and a tuxedo bombay named Minion). They are the loves of my life. Cats deserve as much love as dogs get because they’re just as affectionate, playful and loving.
I was a full dog person and dogs are still my world but the male Bombay I have now really changed my perspective entirely on cats !!! I love him with all my heart 😭 he is so SWEET.
I had a Maine Coon Mix for 15 years and she was the best kitty ever! Playful, affectionate, and cuddly! When I'd throw a lollipop, she'd fetch it! I miss her so much. I can't wait to get another one. I definitely recommend this breed.
So many beautiful cats out there. Personally we adopt from shelters instead of buying from breeders but that's just what feels right to us. We're all different. My cats are not spoiled. I'm just well-trained.

Its hard when you lose them like. Especially if they were apart of your family for a long time. The cat that owned my family wasn't seen as a pet in my eyes. She was my baby fur sister.
I wasnt really a cat person until I rescued a Sphynx and he’s so dog-like and loves people so much that I don’t know what I’d do without him now. He’s baby soft and so cuddly. People that are weirded out by Sphynx cats need to just meet one and they’ll totally understand.
And to think a lot of the cats on this list are considered to be high maintenance pets. especially the hairless cats in fact one disadvantage of caring for one of those particular cats is having to wipe the oils off of their bodies, because you know since they don't have hair to absorb the oils and what not the owners have to take care of it.
I’ve only ever had American Shorthair’s. Each and every one have had such a different a unique personality to them. My childhood cat Scamp (literally the best possible name for him) is now an old man but still finds trouble. Mo, loves to run, be picked up and sleep in the pantry (he can let himself in and out). Dezi, scared of everything and worshiped my dad. Bendy (he has a cauliflower ear) is my emotional support animal and I’m his emotional support human. He only lives to give and receive love.
I have 5 maine coons, 5 british shorthair, a siberian, 2 persians, a turkish angora, and an exotic shorthair. The maine coons are the ones with the most dog-like personality, they really live up to the gentle giant thing. My British shorthairs and exotic are very active at night and could play all day long. The angora is a real diva. My persians have very different personality - one is very gentle and kind to me but would bite other humans and be scared of them, the other one bites me and scratches me but she enjoys being around many people. Lastly, my siberian is just a free spirit. It’s like she has a world of her own. I love them all. 💕
I work with cats at a Pet Resort and through it, I've seen many breeds of cats. My favorite breed is the Tonkinese. I remember seeing two of them at work and I loved how friendly they are; plus they were adorable.
Ever since they came into my life, I have been absolutely besotted with my two Tonkinese cats. A combination of the Siamese and Burmese breeds, they have been said to have the best aspects of both breeds, and described as part cat, part dog, part monkey. They are both incredibly intelligent as well as incredibly affectionate, and they both bond deeply with those they care about as well as charm the socks off of anyone and everyone they meet. They are gorgeous both inside and outside, and as they are the most delightful company imaginable, I feel profoundly grateful and privileged to have them in my life (and they eagerly insinuate themselves into every corner of it🥰.)
As a black cat owner he is literally perfection from his sweeter than honey personality to the many mischievous moments and let’s not even begin to describe how beautiful and majestic looking he is ! Black cats give panther majestic vibes :,) I still love my first girl cat but my black cat truly made me a cat person ! My adorable boy.
How in the world are Siamese cats not listed?!?!?!!! I mean Disney wrote a whole freaking song about them. Siamese cats are loyal, talkative, sociable - they're basically dogs in disguise. I've had 4 male Siamese cats (adopt don't shop!) and that's been true for all my boys. They even make great "nurses" as they won't leave your side if you're sick.
I knew number 1 right away! My cat is a Maine coon mix and I absolutely love him! He’s very friendly and doglike! He has the Maine coon “trill” and the floof but he’s not nearly as big as a purebred.
You should have noted that the Savana, like any hybrid breed, is a wild animal at heart and requires a hell of a lot of stimulation, exercise, and watchfulness. No matter their generation gap from their wild ancestor. Also, where's the caviate that not all cats of a certain breed will conform to breed standards.
Agree, the Bengal and Savannah are not for everyone. Not docile cats, can be very aggressive. People should pick a breed on their temperament not looks
@@rhyta5042 People need to do research when getting a pet. Especially pure breeds. When I started looking into getting a ragdoll I looked up information on the breed. Thanks to that I knew that Skywalker would grow for three to four years, and would need a large litter box.
My Mom would always breed Siamese cats. I don’t know when she started but I was really young. But they’re wonderful. And they always loved to sleep in bed with me. They NEVER hissed, ever. After my mom and dad passed they ended up being in my bed. Even when I had a gentleman stay over, they had to get used to the cats. So Siamese cats are the most lovable cats ever.
Also, I am a major proponent of researching breeds before getting a pet... However the cat overpopulation in the states is so bad! Why spend thousands of dollars on a purebred cat when we have millions of cats dying every year in shelters and too many kittens born on the streets! You guys also took a lot of your selling points from very old material that used to be on animal planet.
I love all cats and normally I would say to adopt from a shelter if you are able but with my allergies I bought a purebred Siberian because they bother me much less than other cat breeds. For people that cannot normally live with a cat because of allergies they are a good option and have wonderful personalities.
We just put our 15 year old American short-hair to sleep last Friday. Even though we were prepared, he had a bacterial infection that wouldn't go away with numerous rounds of antibiotics it was still so hard. There was nothing more they could do for him and he was beginning to fail. He was a big black hunk of love. He loved to lay as close to you as he could get 🐈⬛ I miss Otis so much, he was my talker. He also came when he was called. Our German Shepherd was in love with him ❤️💔 We have 2 other gray American tabby. They are twins. Born in the same sack. Smokey Joe and Tris. He's a little bigger, she's petite. They have different eye colors. Tris has ice blue eyes where her twin has golden eyes 👀. Cats are the best 💘💘💘
The two cats I grew up with were named Corby and Quincy. One was a Siamese mix and the other was a tuxedo mostly Farrell. Great cats. We adopted them both from the shelter and they lived until 14 years and they were out door cats. I will never get a cat again though or a dog. Nothing can replace my cat.

I have a Maine Coon/Norwegian Forest cat mix and he is the best family cat we’ve ever had. He’s a 23 lb gentle giant that wants to hangout with us no matter where we are in the house and has a hilarious personality. We often find him lying on his back in the middle of the floor, just chilling. I highly recommend a Maine Coon.
I have an ocicat. He is a lot like a dog. He rides in cars, has gone camping with us. He's very chill! plays fetch, loves new people, not afraid of crowds. and beautifully spotted!
I have two Rag dolls. They’re brothers. Only one of them is fluffy, the other one has short hair. They love my parents and I, but they’re not too crazy about other people. Any time we have company, they take off and hide.

One of my distant cousins actually has a Maine Coon. They are one of my favorite breeds of cats along with their fellow gentle giants the Ragdoll and Ragamuffin. I just really like fluffy breeds.
Me too and I don’t even have one. I’m sadly allergic to cats and I have dogs who love to chase creatures. If I was on my own and wasn’t allergic I would get a Ragdoll. I get my Ragdoll fix via watching Xiedubbel. I still miss Timo from that channel. He was such a sweet cat especially with his koi.

I have always wanted an Oriental, with their giant ears and goofy nose I think they are the most adorable cats in the world! I never see them mentioned on lists like these though!
I had this American Shorthair named Sparkles since i believe 3rd grade. And our bond was unseperable. We would eat together, sleep together and walk around the house together. She would even look at my bedroom door when on my bed as i sleep to guard me. Sadly she passed away one night in October of 2022 before Halloween. And to say i screamed the word no at the top of my lungs was an understatement. We got her cremated and put in a box which i still have to this day. Now i am taking care of an all black American Shorthair named Motor who was found on Labor Day of 2022 under the hood of my mom's car. He is quite the personality. And he has a love for my dad.
I just love cats. They need fur though. I have two, one is very much a farm cat and the other is a mix of Norwegian Forest cat and probably farm cat. If I ever get a specific breed though, it will be Maine Coon. Because big cat.
My favorite is the classic applehead siamese! I had one a few years ago named Elvira. She was always up for cuddles but loved to play and was very quiet for a Siamese (except when she was in heat) I’ll miss her dearly… RIP Elvira (2014-2017) (Note: Siamese cats have a very long lifespan between 10-15 years with little known common health problems. They are very vocal and loyal cat breeds, one of the oldest breeds to date as the Siamese was the first breed of cat with points and different fur coloration than the classic tabby markings and is the grandfather to many breeds like Ragdoll, Burmese, Himalayan, Tonkinese, Oci-cat, etc) (Unfortunately Elvira passed away due to genetic defects caused by incest in breeding. We didn’t know that until it was too late, but alias Siamese cats are the best breed) And I currently have 4 cats that are all healthy and happy!
I like Himalayan cats my ex-boyfriend had one but she passed on her name was Neko which means cat in Japanese whenever I would video chat with him I would see her most of the time my sister also have a cat that was similar to her her name was Lola

Yes, they can be very aggressive as are Bengals. Be sure you are prepared for a very active and high maintenance cat if you choose one of these breeds. They are not cuddly cats
So many to choose from hard to narrow down to 10. I would throw the Sphynx into the hat. They are very intelligent and loving. They do require a bit of maintenance we rub ours down with coconut oil and baby wipes every 2 weeks.
It depends on how you train your American Shorthair,mine probably has a daily routine on biting me. She's kinda lazy,like a sloth,she has those times where she transforms into a energetic cat. I have a Siberian and she is also a genetically hypoallergenic cat. Siberians don’t contain the enzymes in their saliva that makes the dander so troublesome for so many! I have pet allergies and my sweetie sleeps right in my face without issue.

I had this American Shorthair named Sparkles since i believe 3rd grade. And our bond was unseperable. We would eat together, sleep together and walk around the house together. She would even look at my bedroom door when on my bed as i sleep to guard me. Sadly she passed away one night in October of 2022 before Halloween. And to say i screamed the word no at the top of my lungs was an understatement. We got her cremated and put in a box which i still have to this day. Now i am taking care of an all black American Shorthair named Motor who was found on Labor Day of 2022 under the hood of my mom's car. He is quite the personality. And he has a love for my dad.

I just love cats. They need fur though. I have two, one is very much a farm cat and the other is a mix of Norwegian Forest cat and probably farm cat. If I ever get a specific breed though, it will be Maine Coon. Because big cat.
My favorite is the classic applehead siamese! I had one a few years ago named Elvira. She was always up for cuddles but loved to play and was very quiet for a Siamese (except when she was in heat) I’ll miss her dearly… RIP Elvira (2014-2017)
(Note: Siamese cats have a very long lifespan between 10-15 years with little known common health problems. They are very vocal and loyal cat breeds, one of the oldest breeds to date as the Siamese was the first breed of cat with points and different fur coloration than the classic tabby markings and is the grandfather to many breeds like Ragdoll, Burmese, Himalayan, Tonkinese, Oci-cat, etc)
(Unfortunately Elvira passed away due to genetic defects caused by incest in breeding. We didn’t know that until it was too late, but alias Siamese cats are the best breed)
And I currently have 4 cats that are all healthy and happy!

Yes, they can be very aggressive as are Bengals. Be sure you are prepared for a very active and high maintenance cat if you choose one of these breeds. They are not cuddly cats
So many to choose from hard to narrow down to 10. I would throw the Sphynx into the hat. They are very intelligent and loving. They do require a bit of maintenance we rub ours down with coconut oil and baby wipes every 2 weeks.
Where is the Manx? That is the most loyal cat ever. Just like a dog. Super smart and absolutely adorable.

I was surprises to not hear the Chaotic playing Siameese
I have a Siberian and she is also a genetically hypoallergenic cat. Siberians don’t contain the enzymes in their saliva that makes the dander so troublesome for so many! I have pet allergies and my sweetie sleeps right in my face without issue.
