  • Back in 2013, I got caught up in a moment which turned into a global viral sensation. Now, including previously unseen footage of just before and after the interview, here's your chance to see that infamous Bruce Willis & Mary Louise Parker chat again, as they (kind of) promoted the very underrated, Red 2 (mainly underrated by Bruce....as you'll see!)

Even when they are in rapid mental decline they will smile, sing and dance. It really does help. Nothing ,but love and understanding for all u guys, Willis and Moore family included.

Hey Jamie, news came out the past few days -- after rumors dating back a few years -- that Bruce has been battling early onset dementia, which is why he's been taking roles in increasingly terrible B movies that require little to no commitment (often just a day's work or so with an earpiece feeding him his lines). I read that those who begin to suffer certain types of dementia experience issues in their frontal lobe that can impact their understanding of social norms, and empathy for other people, which can come across as rude or erratic behavior to others around them. Makes me wonder if what we saw in this bizarre interview (which I've watched countless times over the years for some reason!) was an early sign of his dementia manifesting. It really does explain so much. And if it's true I kind of feel bad now for mocking him and his seemingly lazy career choices. It also makes sense why he randomly chose to do the stage play of Misery a few years back... He may have realized it was his last chance at doing something of that magnitude. It also explains the weird story about him getting kicked out of a drug store during COVID for not wearing a mask, which at first seemed like a political statement but there were photos of him leaving the store with the mask pulled down around his neck and one of the articles I read stated he simply "forgot" he had pulled it down. If the rumors of his dementia are true it certainly reframes a lot of his behavior and career choices. Curious if you have any thoughts on this? Perhaps it would at least give you some sense of closure / explanation as to why he was seemingly such a jerk out of the blue?

This was way before his illness - Bruce was just clearly tired/bored or fed up and has a dry humor. From his opening comments (off camera) he jokingly tried to put pressure on the interviewer. Some people have that mischievous "banter-style" humor and it is often misinterpreted. I worked with a guy just like this - "Banter Andy" - some people tended to avoid him whereas others totally got it. He would do his banter thing but whenever anybody gave it back you could see his humor devolve and become even more combative - like it was a competition to him. Things could get quite nasty. Not a fan of that style of humor myself - but each to their own. There will be a psychological reason why some people use it. It's not the sort of humor you dip in and out of. It's all or none. Humor is about pleasing others. What the heck am I even going on about! Bloody essay. Great actor.

No, you can tell he is trying to be funny, but his brain does not work properly or rather fast enough, hence he sounds offensive and rude. The condition Bruce has been diagnosed with ALWAYS shows signs early on, maybe decades early on. This interview clearly shows lack of cognitive function. To add to everything mentioned above, Bruce has not done this style of interview successfully. Look at the older interviews on late shows. He clearly enjoys playing around, doing skits, goofing off, telling jokes, going off the rails with banter. Talking about movies, he was never comfortable. Look at the 1987 Die Hard interviews. They ask him analytical questions, like what's your secret? He goes I dunno, I'm just an every day guy, I don't really analyze this stuff. Now imagine that, but tired and with dementia.
To spend time on air with Bruce and have a good time, you gotta play around and do wacky stuff, he doesn't do well in standard interviews where the questions are standard like what was your favorite location and favorite scene. Guy is so burnt out.
I also feel like he connects better with interviewers who are closer to his age. He's a curmudgeon.

WTF are people doing to Bruce!! They're making fun of him, they are exploiting him, making him look like a fool, all because of greed. How they pretend to be friends and yet when something like this happens they try to suck all they can out of him before he can't act anymore. I have been a Bruce Willis then since 1984 and I still am. He is one of the best actors that has ever been and he's funny as hell! He put others before himself, infectious sexy smile, dedicated family man. I couldn't believe when I found out of his disease and was so sad and looked back and realized I noticed something changed he wasn't Bruce Willis. I feel so angry how he's being exploited, all the money he made you the years and you knew something was wrong with him, but you chose to disrespect, abuse, ignore and use the situation for your own sick pleasure,
you all were lucky to have him in your movies, why did you do this to him? That's a sign of narcissistic personality. You should all be arrested for abuse, neglect, manipulation, knowing before the fact and exploiting Bruce Willis. They all should be called out for what they did and receive punishment.

Really seems this video has been edited to make Bruce seem even weirder and ruder than he actually was... Yepp, Bruce was rude, but the questions were super cringe and straight up bizarre. I get what Bruce meant by "We're not acting now", as the questions were formed in a silly way to make the actors indeed act. The question about "keeping women happy" was super cringe and there was no normal way to answer that question, without playing "stupid" and thinking of something "funny" to say. You could see from Marry Louse facial expression, as you nervously ask that silly question, that she is thinking "Oh dear god please no". Read the room and prepare yourself better, especially when meeting two legends.
