Refreshing to see another bass player that doesn't have freakishly long fingers
Agreed!!!! I mean I got huge hands but my pinkie is short and basically in any standing position it can't reach the E string.
Haha tiny little chipmunk hands plus missing a finger is why I use a pick 😆
I'm learning, though.
He's a Yorkshire troll 🧌
@@richardtomlinson2063 I'm a Detroit gnome. Takes all kinds
Josh DuBois from "The Bass Channel" seems to not have the biggest fingers and plays insanely well, just lookup their "Bass Covers" playlist
When the Rickenbacker kicks in, it's GAME OVER♠️
THE SOUND !!!
@@marSLaZZ66One of a kind
I have a 1977 in mapleglo just like that one
How the hell do you bass players play the D and G strings without using your thumb to mute the above strings???
I just don’t see how that’s even possible to not mute those strings and to not hit them accidentally
Thanks for letting me play BEHS through you. I have an autoimmune disease that has ruined my hands and I haven't been able to play for years. You make me want to battle through and play again. Your content is great, it's informative and fun. Thanks man, you are a great "Behs-ist".
Keep on fighting man, It will pay off!
Instead of 'fighting', I suggest you try a philosophically different approach to dealing with the autoimmune disease. I had a friend who had serious Lupus and while working in Africa was taken to a South African hospital because his kidneys were failing due to the medication. In desperation he asked me for help, so I found a kinesiologist local to him in the same town who had loads of testimonials. After two sessions his Lupus went away, he was able to stop taking the drugs completely and his kidneys made a full recovery. Orthodox medicine is great for life-threatening emergencies, but the longer and slower the condtion the worse it gets at truly understanding it and I think you'll find it worthwhile exploring other options that are less about overriding the body and more about understanding it and dancing WITH the body.
@@herseemthat is true!
Best wishes 😊
Thank you for your wonderful lecture on why Ginger Baker hated Jack Bruce.
😂😂
Ginger went to Jack's funeral. Spoke highly of him that day.
If you think ginger hated jack Bruce you should check out what he thought of Pete brown lmao
So what I'm getting from this is that a bored bassist makes everything immediately more fun? Cool!
Ye
Exactly!
Ahhh... A bored, imaginative behsist, for a bored, non-imaginative behsist just stay bored.. 😉
About sums it up.
This is basically how I taught myself bass. I had this Alligator Records 4 CD collection that was *all* blues songs, and I would sit in the dark, figure out whatever key songs were in, and just feel out different attack styles and walk patterns in 12-bar along with the music.
Oh my! That escalated quickly 🤠👍
1:42 Lemmy is dancing the twist on his grave !! Brilliant !!
Love your content Danny keep going my man love the behs
Danny I've always loved your behs 😂 playing please some more
That Rickenbacker 4001 solo is straight from Lemmy Kilmister himself. Rock on.
That was wicked man. ❤
That last riff was straight-up Feedtime, a brutal Australian blues-punk outfit.
The Australian music scene has always sucked
@@yeahnahmate1611 nope.
@@yeahnahmate1611Radio Birdman? Cosmic Psychos? Thatcher's Snatch?
@@andylane3739 the Australian music scene is based on copying and ripping off bands from the USA and UK. It sucks and is only filled with Nepo babies or boomers who are Nepo babies
@@yeahnahmate1611 Well then, go start your own original band.
Dude, you can actually play regardless of the haters. Awesome job my fellow bass friend
Speaking as one bassist who gets bored to tears doing 12-bar blues tunes for a whole gig. Great job, Danny!
Great bass player , good humor in this video, always tasteful basslines from Danny
Lets go, loved the bottle slide
Thank you Danny for a brilliant "Make my day"video clip!
Great tone on your P Behs Danny!
Looks like a Squier CV from around 2010/11. Lovely basses, hi mass bridge as standard, brass saddles as standard. Far better than the current CV range.
Awesome. I love it when a good bassist plays more than one string at once. That slide sh*t was wild. Very Noice 👌
The most 'real' bass player on UA-cam. Hats off to you sir ;)
Always a fun watch! Good playing too!
Jake and Elwood Blues would be proud!
Nice job. Sounds like you have some great drumming chops along with your killer bass playing!
This could be my favorite from ya so far, love It!
Dan that was brilliant and funny. I hope you don't run out of ideas
😂😂😂 When the Style progress... The type of "Behs" progress for a more and more agressive: P "Behs"
You get a like just for the clash t-shirt, great BEHS playing Danny cheers 🍻
A drummer and 3 bassists that’s my kind of band!
Spinal Tap...Big Bottom!

Towards the end your walking in Colin Hodgkinson shoes.
Day 113 of asking for Necrobutcher of Mayhem’s BEHS tone!
2nd that
Place your amp in a freezer and record through a potato phone
@@hishamhilal8332you mean a rotten potato phone
Put elastic bands on a tissue box and pluck the hell out of that. You'll know it when you get there.
I AGREE!! from whati do know.. he uses distortion on his bass :3
Thia is the most exciting way to play behs
I said in comments your my favourite behs player earlier and now with get to watch. Banging behs.
Pretty cool video, Danny 😎🤘🏻🎸
Smile got wider and wider for the whole 2 mins... 😊
I love the way you play the BEHS in this videographic content.
Haha. That was awesome!! Way out my league, but motivational!
Loved the bottle work!
You know what I like about your bass playing Danny, it’s the real deal, like Yorkshire Tea or Theakston’s ale. None of that Southern lager drinking tapping nonsense here!
Theakston's Ehl 👍 🍻
Ok that was funny 10/10 fricheks
Dayummm! Those are some FIRE licks!
The old school Jazz bass tone was damn nice to hear again.
LOL when he switched into Lemmy Mode
Dude. That was awesome!
The Rickenbacker was just * chef's kiss *
Love it!
Very entertaining. That’s a great video.
Brilliant! I've found myself in the same position 😅 I often use a beer bottle or my mic stand as a slide
Hahaha. Pretty cool, man!!😂😊 Fun stuff!!
The history of rock-and-roll in roughly two minutes.
I am 50 years old, and just recently decided I'd like to learn to play a musical instrument, so I chose bass. After my choice I scoured the internet and UA-cam for what Behs has the sound which is sweetest to my ear, and although I landed on the Music Man Sting Ray I felt $4,000 for an instrument I'm not sure I'll be able to learn was a bit steep, so I just found a cheap Ibanez that I paid $150 for. I thought about a Sterling SUB, but I read about too many negs and not enough pos, so I just found a bass that is going to be a learner.
After seeing a couple of your shorts I subscribed to your channel and I love your videos. Keep it up, and I'm steady practicing. There's definitely a learning curve, and I don't get as much practice as I'd like, but we're moving, so I'll have my own music room, and my wife will be in Europe for the entire month of August, so I'll grow exponentially during that month
Nice Danny , thats how I play blues after plus 40 years experience ! 😊
Fantastic!!! wish i coulda hit like twice
Audie Pitre Acid Bath bass tone
Awesomeness love it 😎
my favorite part is 1:00 - 1:23 it sounds sooo good!
Best vid of yours in the last year!
Love the Final bass moment at 1:23
🤘🏻!🤘🏻! Love the Rick!!
awesome mate!
🫵🏻 FIRED!
Love the lemmy tone!🤘🤘🤘
Ye, Exactly. Well done.
Def should cover Prince’s bass playing. Saw a vid of him laying down a bass track for the Batman movies. . . True artistry.
Thanks!
I LOVE RICKENBACKER!
and so are you 😁🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
ol stubby fingers sapko he's gonna be remembered as. good riffin' man sounds sick like your tooooones.
That would be me with the Ric in me old "Works Function Band" 😳 - nice one Danny...🤗
Yeah. Awesome!
Fantastic.
Day 25 of asking for Aston Barret’s bass tone (Bob Marley and The Wailers)
As a guitarist, I struggle to see how bassist don’t get bored whenever they play
Love this post! How many times has the guitarist said ‘just stay on A?’ Fortunately, I own the recording studio, so I can spend some time doing the extra bass track that still supports the track and doesn’t sound like the bass player phoned it in as an afterthought. The band is usually arguing about the crazy synth part I also added to notice.
That's some great behs ❤
Rickenbacker thé Queen of all bass guitar 🎸 ! Really ...! ❤
Awesome-
Yo, got give it to you 🎉🎉🎉 that's 🔥🔥🔥🔥🚒🚒 fire 😊
Though, I am not a bass player, your musicianship is outstanding. When I was in junior college, I saw more bass players on campus than electric or acoustic guitar players.
The bass and drums have a more symbiotic connection in a band. The guitar and piano also have this connection in a band if a band had either or both either in rock, jazz, or blues.
That started out sounding a lot like Tommy Shannon from Double Trouble (SRV's band) but escalated quickly. BTW, I think the reason everyone questions whether you really play bass is you are hilarious. I never met a bass player with a sense of humor before. They are always pissed off about something or other.
'No one listens to me. Even the guitar tech gets more action than I do. Why does everyone keep calling me Karl?' Whatever... Just play the one note Karl!
you've opened my eyes to a whole new world of playing, thank you, I will like and subscribe (do I have to wear a hat?)
Nice! Bit of a Jerry Scheff vibe about some of this and he could play.
Groovy! 👍👏
You crack me up, man. Excellent! Loved that wine bottle slide bass! Just don't try that with ZZ Top.
That rick tone is great
Love the Ricky .
you are my behs idol!
Day 29 of asking for Audi Pitres bass tone from Acid Bath
Which adult did you borrow that suit jacket from?
Michael Jordan
The jacket is cool but I really like the pajama bottoms! Nice touch. 😂
Still got it, Danny! 👏
Finally someone demoing a Jazz bass the way I want to play one, instead of the way Jaco played one.
great!
You swim in that jacket bluesy boy
