Maybe so, but we are debtors to Israel for the Bible. Very little of it was written by Gentiles. And we mourn for them, that they are blind to truth. They are, in short, a special case. They share our regard for civil liberties and for basic civilization, most of them speak English, and they are our chief military ally in the world. Also, would you rather live among Israeli Jews or among Arab Muslims?

The current nation of Israel was established in 1948. Those people are not the descendants of the Jews that existed during Jesus’s time or that wrote the Bible.
Parts of our country including government are actively working to genocide Palestine in the name of protecting Israel.
Seeing as our command as Christians is to go and share the Gospel to all nations, we should desire to be peacemakers and work things out diplomatically rather than through war.
But if war is inevitable, then we should still fight to save as many lives on both sides, both temporally and eternally.
We have no power really over what the government does with our taxes. We simply render to Caesar what is his and give to God what is His.

@bobtaylor170 funny you say that. A catholic from Bethlehem comes to my city every year from late Nov until just before Christmas, when he heads home. He told me to my face, that in Bethlehem the Christians and the Muslims get along just fine. No problems between them at all.
Also, the 3rd oldest Christian church in the world is an Eastern Orthodox Church in Gaza. There were 1,300 Christians that were living peacefully in Gaza all this time. I found out about that church after part of it was hit by Israel bombing last week. 18 women and children, our fellow Christians, dead.

Thank you, I am not Lutheran, but my own denomination (Reformed) holds to essentially the same orthodox view of the definition and identity of Israel and its role on end times. Most American evangelicals have been taught an errant view. I grew up in that culture, from Hal Lindsay to Left Behind. I am pleased that Lutheran and Reformed pastors are addressing this issue and doing so scripturally.

Pastor Wolfmeuller, please write a detailed book on eschatology from a Lutheran perspective. I find that most Lutheran teachers are so vague when it comes to matters related to the end times. The same vagueness is present in this video. You started off with the question of if what's happening to Israel is a sign of the end times? All I heard was a 'no' and then the gospel. It drives me crazy because I have a lot of deconstruction to do after being in the reformed tradition for so long. For example, what do we make of the antichrist? Is it a singular person, or plural? Is it a system? Another is the mark of the beast. The evangelicals are having a field day terrorising people with their version of- especially after Covid. Then there are the seals and bowls for which evangelicals have detailed explanations. I guess Lutherans like myself just want clarity on what the Lutheran Church's stance is on these matters. I've watched your videos on eschatology, the rapture, and so forth, it was helpful but there are still so many unanswered questions. Could you please direct me to a book or can you write an end times book?

Those whom Paul spoke of in Romans who are his kin (Jews) were scattered after 70 ad. Is it impossible for God to gather them again, by whatever means and for whatever reason, back to the holy land and Jerusalem?
How would a Christian ever recognize it if God did such a thing?

Theologians from different beliefs claim to use scripture to interpret scripture but arrive at vastly different conclusions. It becomes all about the hermeneutics and I've given up on that. Seems like most just manipulate scripture to fit their belief and that is all wrong. I am not sure what you do with the many prophecies that speak of the time directly before the Day of the Lord. Like the time being worse than any in the history of the world (paraphrasing of course), and the 3 days of darkness, and the Ezekiel 38 war, and Daniel, and God pleading with humanity through pestilence and famine and fire, etc.? What about the harlot in Rev.? What do you do with it all? Because some is speaking of the destruction of Jerusalem, but some is obviously speaking of the end of the world. Mark 13:19, For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God crated unto this time, neither shall be. And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. There have been many other horrible times through history like the fall of Jerusalem, and even today, the evil is so rampant and just on population alone, I think it is worse than any time in the history of the world. (look at the child brothels in Europe and the selling of children's body parts after their 'usefulness' is over) Surely God will wipe out the sin on the earth, as He did in Sodom and Gomorrah, and I feel like we must be close to that day of Reckoning. I appreciate you speaking the Gospel, but I don't feel any Lutherans want to talk about these prophecies.

The key word here is "all nations", which is quite different from "all tongues" or "all tribes". If you look at a world map today where Christianity has been or is currently present, this is fulfilled. Christianity has been to every remote corner of our planet. It's important to remember the Abrahamic blessing passed on to the tribes of Joseph, never the tribe of Judah who falsely claim to be the totality of Semites, Hebrews, and Israelis. Israel today is the church and Revelation warned of the Synagogue of Satan. In Acts 9:15, God separates gentiles and Israel, not gentile and Jew. In Romans 11:1, the apostle Paul corrects those calling him a Jew stating that he is an Israelite, of the tribe of Benjamin.
The Kingdom of Judah carried on the church whereas the Kingdom of Jerusalem carried on the Abrahamic blessing until the coming of Christ Jesus.
Palestinians and Arabs in general are the descendants of Ishmael, a wild man whose hand will be against every man and every man's hand against him.

So, we Chritians, as you so eloquently described as being so very taken up with God's love for us, (which I am in full agreement with), are to completely ignore as passe a number of things: 1) That God has always described Himself as the God of Israel. 2 That Jesus, our beloved Redeemer, told his Jewish disciples that in the age to come they would sit on 22 thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel. 3) Jesus said to his disciples at the last Passover he spent with them..that He would not do so again until He does so with them in His kingdom. 4) Matthew 24..all about those times and events leading up to His glorious return. 5) Jesus' Lament over Jerusalem in which He surely did speak of the coming destruction of the city..but also said a day was coming when Jerusalem would repentantly welcome Him..Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. There are so many many Scriptures in both testaments that must be allegorized, ignored, even sometimes mocked, to keep hold of the narrative that God is done with Israel, and now its all about us wonderful gentile Christians for whom all God's grace is due..without a scrap remaining for Jewish Israel. What a terrible shame.

I liked the commentary on the parable. Didn't like the no to Israel and prophecy so much.
As I have got older I have tended to take the bible more literally and less symbolically. Augustine's tendency to allegorise did great damage which carries on with those who follow him in Calvinism, which I now consider to be error. Promises to Israel mean Israel, not the church.

      Galatians 3:26-29
"For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise."
      Romans 9:6-8
"Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel. Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children
; but, in Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed."
Romans chapter 11 speaks of the natural branches being broken off because of their unbelief (v.20). They can be grafted back in if they cease from their unbelief (v.23). Gentiles being grafted in because of belief (v.24). So then, believers in Christ (both Jew & Gentile) are grafted in and are now saved and so the Israel spoken of in v26,27 are the believers in Christ which makes up the church. "And so all Israel shall be saved (v.26).
Those who believe in Christ are the true Spiritual Israel. For they believe in the same promise that Abraham believed. It's not replacement theology. It is called the New Testament, which by Jesus Christ, fulfilled the Old Testament.
Blessings to you in Christ. Amen 🙏🏻

Steven...Jesus warned sternly not to "add" to his words. The modern State of Israel has NOTHING to do with God's OT people. What happens in modern Israel has no bearing on Christ's imminent return. Jesus said Wars would come, and so they have and perhaps are escalating. What is happening is another fulfillment of that, but nothing more.

Why do you think it’s prophecy and not just Gods previous promise unfolding? Anyone who attacks Israel with suffer. What prophecy could be at play here?

@mirandataylor6385 God knows the beginning from the end and end from the beginning andhe spoke it through the prophets, so I say what part is not prophecy? Truth be told I worship him in spirit and in spirit nothing is literal and everything is literal. What I am saying is this if I say it is prophecy and I am looking up for the return of Christ Jesus, what diffrance does it make to me and my faith in him in spirit if someone tells me I am wrong in my faith? I'm just saying it's not a salvation all issue I am Lutheran but I don't agree with 100% of man's theory, Jesus tells me so. He opened my eyes to see in spirit. Why would anybody try to convince me to stop going there intamently ? Faith is beautiful. We are living in the last days or even hours. Why would a Christian say otherwise?

@@steventaylor7716 So are you a prophet? Or are you leaning on your own understanding?

@br.m neither. Why are you attacking me for my uncompromising faith in the bible, God's word? Why is a female man like me attacked for making a statement that I believe that the word of God is prophecy? Why, are you a Faracy?

I and most law enforcement officers would say it is prideful and narcissistic for an arrogant man to produce UA-cam videos while driving. Bryan puts self before others safety and I'm guessing he even answers text while driving. So why would you trust him in your journey with the LORD, when he cares less about others on their journey to the supermarket or going to pick up their children from school? Look who long and often Bryan is distracted by the camera.
