This is my car, and let me tell you my thoughts in a few words:
I didnt like the stock car that much, as it felt like it was missing something.
Had the car for 2 weeks, so was quite skeptical, but Michael and John answered all my questions so I followed their advice and decided to go with full Soul Performance and M-Engineering.
Let me just say I now LOVE the car and cant fathom to think that many out there drive this car without these mods.
I went thinking it was an ok/nice ride, to completely in love with it.
The Numeric short shifter they installed was the cherry on top. Did I say im completely infatuated with this car? Just wanted to make sure 😉
    Ps: DO IT

The extra weight from the front wheel drivetrain immediately rules it out for any GT3 buyer. Also; RWD 911 with winter tyres do fine everywhere in winter, including Colorado.

The 992 S with with the stage 1+ tune (M-Engineering Tune / BMC airfilter), Ohlins Road & Track Coilover System full coil-over, and the Numeric Racing Short Throw Shifter for the manual is probably the way I would do it. It will certainly be more versatile than a GT3

Just picked up a 992 C4S Cab in Lizard Green. Previous owner did Soul Performance valved exhaust, but no sport cats. I need more sound. After watching a bunch of vids, this one helped me over the edge - ordering Soul sport cats and M-Engineering stage-2. I have a 991.1 Voodoo Blue GT3RS with full GMG exhaust including headers - it's just too much for driving around town and shooting the canyons where I live - I anxious to see how the 992 is going to do - especially this winter with aggressive snow tires rallying on the snowy roads! Great content on all the 992 exhaust vids - thank you!

Are there any of these after market parts manufacturers willing to give s guarantee on failure or damage to your car? Are they willing to guarantee that the car will pass smog tests after the engine is tuned? Are there any 911’s with the 3.0 engine putting out 600 hp? Just by changing the software to increase the boost to make 600 hp does not make a 911 S into a GT3. If you’re not on a track where can you really use even 400 hp?

    • @Flat6Motorsports
      @Flat6Motorsports  8 місяців тому +3

Yes, several of the companies offer warranties and EO compliance. In this particular example the exhaust has a lifetime warranty. We've had 991.2 and 992 Carreras running north of 700HP for many years. The blocks are shared with the 992 Turbo S. Enjoy your ownership experience!

@@blasmartinez4707 I actually got a CPO 2018 2.5l GTS, not the 4.0. Let me tell you, it’s a damn rocket ship. The 4cyl gets a lot of hate because of the sound, but it’s honestly pretty damn good inside the cabin. Outside is a bit lackluster… but inside what I hear when I’m driving is actually very good. The turbos give so much low down punch that is missing in the Shelby. The PDK transmission is lightning quick… and as much as I love manuals, the PDK is amazing. It’s way smaller and lighter feeling than the Shelby , which gives it a “darty” driving experience. Highly reccomended giving a 4cyl at least a shot…. So many negate it and turn their head the other away… but I can’t imagine anyone driving one and not thinking it wasn’t fun

Certainly a lot of naysayers here. I wonder why so much hate if they have life figured-out…and still wanna change the minds of others.
If you feel good about ‘mastering the Porsche online configurator’ and either have what you wanted, or got a deal-and-a-half….then? If you’re good with your $14k Dolphin Gray, admit you’re not good at putting yourself in another owner’s shoes. Regardless, it’s Porsche laughing all the way to the bank.
    Keep on rocking, Flat6.

Carrera S with. Few options is easily $175,000 plus and my new gt3 /024 - was $199,800. Your setup was probably at least $20,000 or more likely was $30,000? Mention the cost of all these mods on this car - plus labor? I bet the costs of these mods is more than just buying the GTS or even a GT3.

    • @Flat6Motorsports

There are currently 18 992 Carrera S' on Cars.com for under $120K. There is only 1 992 GT3 for under $240K. This particular customer opted for some things to personalize his car to his preferences. The Stage 2 kit can be had for under $4K installed. This was roughly $15K installed. Porsche doesn't deliver the best bang for the buck, but what is interesting is for a small investment the Carrera S can really transform into a world class car.

I guess you got lucky getting a GT3 for sticker price. Yay, good for you. Not available to most people. Even those that can afford one. On BringATrailer, I see 992 GT3 prices ranging from $220K to $300K+ and most are not brand new. Dealers are asking for $50K or more ADMs-if GT3 allocations even available. I’m not angry about this but you could see why it might prompt someone to go the mod route. Not to mention, the people most likely to modify these cars probably buy them used and likely out of warranty to begin with. And of course, it will never BE a GT3 in terms of the engine and sound even if it can hang with one on a track.

    • @jeffreykilpatrick3592

Taking a beautifully designed classic car - or one that will be a classic - and thinking your smarter than the Porsche engineers is silly. Do you want to buy one of these cars that have been moneyed with to get a few more hp just to drive to lunch or a Porsche meet? The electronics are complicated and the smog systems are complicated and modifying all the software and hardware and exhaust will almost surely make the car impossible to get past the next mandatory emissions test. And I don’t believe your pricing is really accurate. Most of these exhaust systems are $5,000 to more typically $10,000 and springs - so the car will scrap in every driveway? All this kind of stuff on race cars - like all the cars here at Rennsport today - that makes sense. But to try and make your 911 into a GT3 is kind of delusional. The GT3 engine is designed internally to to deal with 500 plus hp - the basic 911 engine probably not. What most of these guys will do to sell that 911 S is remove all the junk they put on the car and put back the original exhaust and original springs and flash the software back - and not bother to mention how the car was abused. So you want to buy a used 911 that has been modified and driven like that for a number of years? These cars are not like old hot rod Camaros back in high school. Every guy I know that has monkeyed with his Porsche has problems - reliability, can’t align the wheels, over heats, dealers won’t work on the car if there are strange engine issues - worse it voids your warranty. My suggestion is put some decals on the car, change the color with a ppf wrap, add a few carbon fiber pieces - and drive and enjoy the car and make it easier to sell.
Why do most listings for used porsche proudly exclaim - unmodified?
Think twice and long before screwing with your wonderful and beautiful Porsche sports car. And someday it will be a classic and admired for its original design.

I got an allocation but I paid $40,000 over msrp - car just landed in San Francisco - hope to take delivery soon and my modifications will be custom martini stripes- so you always wanted to be married to a stripper. Getting your wife to wear glass high heels 👠 and a Teddy while vacuuming and doing the laundry for the kids won’t be the same somehow as having married a stripper to begin with. and possibly if you had married a stripper you will wish you had married that nice girl in accounting after all. How many guys buy a GT3 and then discover they wished they had bought the 911 4S actually which is why so many GT3’s are for sale with crazy low mileage. It will not surprise me if my GT 3 gets taken to some PCA meetings but rarely driven since it will not be comfortable. The best car in the entire 911 range is the 911 T today at 386 hp- an incredibly fun car to drive on a twisty road and to lunch also.
I understand this is a commercial for parts to modify your porsche - not a great idea for so many reasons.

@@jeffreykilpatrick3592 sir you are entitled to your opinion but you're not making an argument based in any factual construct. Porsche has to design vehicles to specifications that balance constraints such as product road map, marketing, margins, safety, supply chain, shareholder duty, regulations, global homologated standards, etc. Many companies in the aftermarket industry have decades of R&D, engineering and manufacturing experience (including some who had careers with Porsche). Not every individual has the same set of circumstances as you, the same smog requirements as you or the same preferences as you. This isn't an indictment of the GT3, it is simply asking the question and bringing a perspective for the sake of consideration. You can make judgements based on your personal experience but that doesn't change the world around you. Pricing for all of these products are actually linked in the description if you care to sum up the line items. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, we welcome debate and rational argument for the sake of bringing perspectives to an audience. Enjoy the GT3, they're a special car!

Not a better idea than a GT3? Ruins your warranty, likely causes engine issues that are expensive, and hurts the resale as future buyers never know how the car was Damaged. Dealers will also refuse to work on the car as well. If you want more hp/ which no one needs even from the base Carrera, Porsche makes a model for you all the way up to the turbo s.
