  • Here is a video on how your cars ignition system work, your ignition system is responsible for both creating and timing of the spark that is produced at the tip of your spark plug. Throughout the decades different ignition systems have been used and in this video we will go over the early systems that were comprised of an Ignition switch, Ignition Coil, Contacts, Igniter, Ignition Control Module, Distributor, Spark Plug Wires and Spark Plugs. Once you know how an Ignition system works testing and diagnosing problems within the system will become easy for you.

my car is a mitsubishi lancer 1990 model and it works in the form of an ignition module in my distributor, so I didn't see the signs, rather, it doesn't matter, I thought it wouldn't matter, but I was wrong, you have
before disassembling your distributor, take a photo and open the inside of the cover, take a picture from there and follow the signs, look at your repair book, read the section on this topic, look at the pictures when collecting it again
    you can handle it easily

how does the high voltage from the ignition coil flows to teh distributor if the contact breaker is inside the distributor?

  • @Troyxsoldier
    @Troyxsoldier 6 років тому

Is there a voltage increase from putting the key in the on position just to light up the instrument panel, vs turning the key all the way? What is the difference in the key turning position that turns the car on? Thanks in advance.

Hi your video are excellent and very well explained.
i need help with an opel 200is , recently replaced the block in my car ,the conrod broke and bust the block where the crank sensor was. so now i have fuel coming but no spark. replaced the crank sensor ,new coil sent the ecu for testing aswel all fine.
but auto ecu test center says the rotor is faulty. will this cause no spark coming from the coil itself. we were testing from the coil to spark plug and grounding it to the engine to check for spark while cranking the motor....we have a no go. please provide me with a solution.

i found my mistake,I disassembled the distributor to clean it, but I forgot to mark it while removing it, and I researched it on the Internet, then engine 1. i learned that you will hang out when you are in the silir sente position or something
but because I opened and distributed it inside the distributor, I put it upside down when collecting, thinking that the oil wouldn't matter, and because I didn't know I didn't see it on the sign, I put it upside down and the distributor was wrong
tainca modulator 1. not the cylinder, but the 4. he fired the cylinder, and because I fired the cylinder in the valve seat position, not in the engine, it's like the engine is going to work with a bang and nonsense
it happened, I even started it a little, I made contacts 4 5 or even 6 7 times to understand what happened, I looked, there's something wrong with it, I still didn't think that the distributor would be wrong, and I guess the engine
i said I couldn't do it, and a little later I realized that the main reason for this inaccuracy was from the ignition system, I unscrewed the distributor again and removed it, and when I opened it, the marks were 180 degrees
i saw that it was wrong, I eventually corrected it, of course, this incident became a lesson to me and I learned the truth of the matter.

12 volts all right soon as your engine starts you got charging voltage is going to that coil and every wire on the car is practically charging voltage explain that and when you talk about testing the votes on the coil it's not just 12 volts

    👍🏿 so
🌄. The first and beginning ⚡️12,000 volts from the battery that is bridged ignition coil long end wires when the ignition switch is turned with the owners key which gives permission for that first 12,000 volts travels across the inside of a wire and goes inside the cylinder shaped enclosure with/through first, the PRIMARY COIL which is the wider coil (in/the both/different ignition systems depending the vehicle) and the PRIMARY COIL is closest to its enclosure(sometimes drawn as a vertical rectangular box like a 🔋battery box where the ⚡️energy/electricity first comes from) and then there is the second coil in this vertical rectangular shape and that second coil is called the secondary coil which is a more tighter and further away from the round walled enclosure that the secondary coil is protected inside and like inside/middle/eye of the 🌪primary coil which acts like a second 🍰inside layer because where close to there round/🔑bent edged enclosure that protects both the coils inside.
