Borrowing someone else's music has been a common practice in the rap industry from the get go. Yes, this was based on Kashmir. So what? Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise" was based on a Stevie Wonder song but I can't see people bashing Coolio for "stealing" that music. And you can only say it was stolen if the original composer did not agree to the re-use of his work. Jimmy Page obviously agreed, he even participated in it, he is in the video and is credited. The rest of Led Zeppelin is credited. Mark Curry is credited for co-writing the lyrics. Puff Daddy did not erase Kashmir from existence. So what is the problem? I'm not a fan of rap, to say the least, but I always liked this "rap song" (and music video) because of its rampaging nature, and because it has actual music worth listening to, with different genres being combined to a great effect. Anyway, this comment was originally a response to those wondering why this video has a relatively low number of views. Well, here are some factors that came into play in that: First of all, I'm not in the UA-cam partner program. And have never ever asked anyone in any way, shape or form to follow me or watch and like my videos. That alone is a huge disadvantage. Also, copycat uploads are getting filtered out by the algorithm, and sooner or later -- nowadays pretty soon -- they will no longer appear among the search results at all (unless you are a UA-cam-partner, I guess). This is an unaltered copy of the official music video, I only edited the audio to re-insert the censored parts. But the cherry on top was that just weeks after this upload was made public, along came the 2014 Godzilla movie. Why is that an issue? Because such events trigger an avalanche of copyright sweeps across UA-cam to help sell the brand new product -- and maybe see a resurgence in the sales of a somewhat related old product -- and that happens through UA-cam removing, blocking or muting content from previous movies of the same title. This video was muted for 365 days. And after that, the only way for you to find it was to add a more specific search term like "uncensored", otherwise the video would never show up. It took years for it to start popping up in the related video section of other late '90s era music videos, which eventually contributed the most to its view count and elevated it above the simple copycat status. So that's why. Also... If you are annoyed by video ads and end screen cards covering up the video picture, here is one solution to get rid of them: snarly.github.io/yt6/ It's a bit amateurish, but it works. An FYI, all the instruments are indeed real. Diddy collaborated with Jimmy Page on this, got him to play guitar and in the soundtrack credits, a bassist, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and a drummer, Mario Winans, are credited, as is a 120 piece orchestra. So the idea that this is merely a sample is bullshit. I am not even a fan of Diddy but I give him credit where credit is due, this is a damn good song that captures the, "Okay, you want to fight? Let's get it on!" attitude, dead to rights. Even Jimmy Page himself commended Diddy for being right on point.
@@dlr6666 When you got no argument, crawl to the "boomer" tropes.smh Not sure why the truth triggers your ilk so much. >>>but I give him credit where credit is due, this is a damn good song>>> What do you mean: give him credit...for a damn good song.>>> Diddy had ZERO to do with the music, unless you consider him laying down his mumble track being music, so why should we "credit" him? Because he hired real musicians to play and remake a third-party's music? That doesn't make sense. The people who get credit are those who MAKE the music. Not those who play gloried high-dollar karaoke-singer to other people's music
I don't argue when it comes to someone else's taste in anything. It's part genetic, part exposure. We emotionally choose and bond to music as we mature. There's technical greatness and performance excellence. What doesn't hurt is production $$$. My favorite example: the movie Road House with Jeff Healey. With full production behind him in Road House, the result is great. His released albums: one step above garage band. Lenny Kravitz could have hit all the marks in the Godzilla piece. Love it, hate it, that's the great part of music: it's up to you and your play button.
The owners of Godzilla are setting offices in LA so they can extend this monster universe. I'm curious what creature laid the eggs on Skull Island. Only Zilla can lay eggs according to American movies. In which it will be Zila Jr. if that's the case.
90's was the best in music wideo, real short movies. Mariah, Puff, Jackson, early 90's Madonna, Guns'n Roses. Meat Loaf "... anything for love" and other . You must be an American if you think this song is "great". "Kashmir" from Led Zeppelin is really great. This rapper should talk about his phantasies of grandiosity to a therapist.
Of course especially in the late 90's rappers were going 3 to 4 platinum and record labels didnt mind shell out the cash. They don't make videos like this anymore in 2019.
@@angela-merkeltde DON'T FORGET that Jimmy Page also gave his blessing & AMIN for this version of the sing! But I'm a metal head... didn't really care for too much of the 90s rap
😅
I dont care his partys, epic song! I love it ❤
Hush up, fool. This isn't his music.
Take a seat.

Any fool can mumble some lyrics over some awesome music. It is a damn good LZ song. It is a lazy Diddy song.
@@Michael_Lak you are like a parody of close-minded old people
@@dlr6666 When you got no argument, crawl to the "boomer" tropes.smh
Not sure why the truth triggers your ilk so much.
>>>but I give him credit where credit is due, this is a damn good song>>>
What do you mean: give him credit...for a damn good song.>>>
Diddy had ZERO to do with the music, unless you consider him laying down his mumble track being music, so why should we "credit" him? Because he hired real musicians to play and remake a third-party's music?
That doesn't make sense.
The people who get credit are those who MAKE the music.
Not those who play gloried high-dollar karaoke-singer to other people's music
@@Michael_Lak nah this song is a banger. You’re wrong
This song will never die.
Amazing.
This song is of the exact same quality of the 1998 film.
This just gets me pumped for King Of The Monsters!!!!!
The owners of Godzilla are setting offices in LA so they can extend this monster universe. I'm curious what creature laid the eggs on Skull Island. Only Zilla can lay eggs according to American movies. In which it will be Zila Jr. if that's the case.
Shawn Bishop mothra laid the egg

Godzilla vs Kong babay
I think they had a bigger budget for this music video than the actual film 😂
Great song!
90's was the best in music wideo, real short movies. Mariah, Puff, Jackson, early 90's Madonna, Guns'n Roses. Meat Loaf "... anything for love" and other . "90's Video budget War" . in 90's it was most important element of career, image.Ps now Rihanna keeping care about quality of video (video with massage, good multiangle shots, good light, director)
You must be an American if you think this song is "great". "Kashmir" from Led Zeppelin is really great. This rapper should talk about his phantasies of grandiosity to a therapist.
Yeah... The movie was easy... Lay a few eggs @ a old statuim arena... Ra ra ra ra raaaaaaaaa! Z-zZiLLLAAAAA!
Despite the fact that years previously, for the (ONE AND ONLY FILM) "Bad Lieutenant 1992", Schooly D made the FIRST (REAL HARDCORE) Hip Hop version of this song, named "Signifying Rapper "! But back then, Jimmy suit the guy, obviously because he didn't get any money for it! But then again, when a BIG TIME Rapper DECIDED TO MAKE A VERSION FOR A hOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTER, he had no problems about it, even shows up in a few frames of the video, and not just that, BUT EVEN HIS NAME appears in the official title of this song!
Thus... STOP BITCHIN ABOUT IT! I like Led Zeppelin, as well,m but these hip hop version are also quite good, and NO NOE SHOULD SAY ANY SHIT ABOUT THEM!

Back in try day when video and songs were actually giving us goosebumps! 90' were the best!
I'm starting to think "come with me" wasn't a suggestion.
I LOVE when rappers or other artists sample music like this classic! I’m a multi-genre fan in all respects and this is one of my favorite combinations!

"Sure!"

I love this comment, can't wait for Legendary's Godzilla King Of The Monsters
I keep thinking that's why Godzilla is chasing him in the video. HE keeps singing "Come with Me" and Gojira figures "Uhhh, ok... Where we goin'?"
💫🥰🔐🌎
Until they met Dora. That s when bad things start to happen xd
Lmao
I hope Godzilla didn’t attend any of Diddy's parties. I'd hate for him to get scrutinized by the media and on social platforms.
I'll never get tired of this song!
I remember sitting around waiting for this song to pop up on this og channel called The Box, where 24/7 people could vote in on what music video would play next. Good times
Fucked up thing about The Box: your votes made no difference. They played all songs that were available on a loop.
Same order. Over and over again. I don't know how that was every allowed to be a thing. I guess they technically would play your song eventually.
Maybe that's why there was no legal blowback
