Actually, this version is more accurate to his character from Arthurian myth, than Fate, because his homicidial maniacs behaviour when he got carried away and start killing people is what make him true Berserker.

If you ever watched the 1930s cartoon "Christmas comes but once a year" on UA-cam, and saw that ugly, freaky/sissy orphan with the ratty teddy bear, you'll know who this "princess" once was, where the dad got him/her from, and why he ultimately cut the rope. Probably wished that mad inventor's dangerous Christmas toys killed him/her and the other creepy orphans before they could be adopted. That kid and the other creepy-looking orphans freaked me and my own kids out by their sissified weirdness. Watch it and see, and then watch a Rambo marathon to flush the cootie-creeps out.
