In korea, Mamamoo is very much a household name. They even say (in korean) "Believe and Listen to Mamamoo" because they are renowned for their singing abilities and that all the songs they release (group/solo) are amazing.
Personally, my favorite thing about them is that they feel genuine... authentic... And just everything about them is completely endearing.

Moomoos did a surprise fan event for the girls on their first fan meeting (or solar's first birthday after the debut, i am not sure) by showing up with signs saying "never letting go". Solar was so touched and wrote this song and then the other members added their parts later on. The Korean title of the song is Never Letting Go.

Ah damn it, I shed tears every single time for I Love You Too live. You could hear Solar's sobs while singing. You know it's definitely live. That song is Solar's composition and she was inspired by a sign that a Moomoo was holding that said "never letting go".Their families wishing them was heartwarming especially Hwasa's Dad calling both Hwasa and Wheein as my daughters. 😢 They didn't know that the crew had prepared that montage for them and Wheein was the only one who kept it together and keeping an eye on the other 3. Just Beautiful. Every single song on this album is impressive and all could have easily been a title track. As for their sincerity, dude, you know what I said before about Mamamoo. 😊

You didn't seem to notice that the music from Memory was used in the intro and kissing interlude of Decalcomanie. Though it's not usually mentioned in the same breath as fan songs like I Love Too, Star Wind Flower Sun and I'm Your Fan it's hard not to include moomoos in the wonderful memories they're reminiscing about and in the MV they make it clear. Solar wrote all three of those fan songs and it's probably not coincidental that she is the main lyricist along with Moonbyul and their boss Kim Dohoon.
In New York Wheein is in a relationship in Seoul but rather than go out with her boyfriend she wants to have a girls night out with Mamamoo (who wouldn't?) at an outdoor bar by the Han River called Broadway New York. The girls help her concoct an elaborate story about being in NY, which isn't exactly a lie since if he asks her what she did that night she can honestly say "I was in New York." But at the end he happens to walk by the bar and Wheein gets busted.
The live MVs were filmed during Mamamoo's debut concert Moosical in 2016 and as we've mentioned MMM always has a live band for their Korean concerts. Angel is a timeless classic that was ripped out of alternate universe from the US in the 70's and transported to Korea 40 years later. I've mentioned Aretha's 1973 album Hey Now Hey before - check out Aretha's song called Angel and her cover of Bobby Womack's That's the Way I Feel About Cha from that album. Angel and Dab Dab were written and composed by Park Woosang, one of MMM's main songwriter/producers at RBW back then. The dude is an extremely versatile songwriter.
The subunits had a bet on whether Angel or Dab Dab would do better on the k-charts. Angel won so Moonbyul & Hwasa had to eat extra spicy food as punishment lol. They've been aka the Angel Line and the Rapper Line ever since.
Yes, I Love Too is Mamamoo's first official fan song. The main lyrics were written by Solar with rap verses by Moonbyul & Hwasa. The Korean title is Never Letting Go, which is the fandom motto. During an early fan meet in 2015 moomoos surprised the girls by holding up signs reading Never Letting Go while they were singing Love Lane. They broke down in tears and had trouble continuing the song. I Love Too was Solar's response. I Love Too has never failed to destroy me and I also have no idea how Solar sang while sobbing. I've always had the impression that at one point during the tears Solar made a promise to herself that she would never forget this moment and would return the love she had received tenfold. The video messages were a surprise to all the members except Wheein. My guess is RBW knew they'd lose it and gave Wheein a heads up to make sure at least one of them could still sing and finish the song.
Woo Hoo is the first of several Mamamoo CF songs written and composed by the co-ed team Cosmic Sound and Cosmic Girl. I think it's their best CF song. Imo the adlibs towards the end are by Solar with Wheein doing the incredible whistle note in the stratosphere but it's also possible Hwasa joined in too.
If you're building a kpop xmas playlist you should also add Moonbyul's Snow, Hwasa's Grey Christmas and Jingle Bell Rock, Wheein's collab with Ailee on Solo Christmas, Solar's rendition of Santa Baby and Mamamoo's live version of All I Want for Christmas is You. There's probably more but those are the ones that come to mind. And don't miss Mamamoo's special xmas dance version of Wind Flower! Happy Ho's and a bottle of rum ta tum tum!

@@SylverReactsas for recommendations for Christmas songs.. I would usually add most, if not all, of Moonbyul's birthday songs.
Moonbyul was born 3 days before Christmas (22 December 1992), and she has been religiously releasing songs on her birthday every year ever since 2017. In the first few year, she had been releasing cover songs, but in 2019, she released her very first original birthday song called Snow. It was a personal song that Moonbyul released, solely for fans and not promoted. But it was so good and caught the attention of a pd of a music show, and they invited Moonbyul to perform it in January as a special performance.
It was Moonbyul's very first vocal solo performance on a music show stage, and she was so nervous and shaking when she did her prerecording for it. But the pd and mushow loved her and the stage was designed so prettily just for her. 🥺❤
For every year after which, she has released original birthday songs and they are almost always wintery feels and one was named Miracle 3 Days before Christmas. And Moonbyul even released her last 3 birthday songs into 1 album called The Present, as a present for Moomoos. :)

You were right about the New York video being about a long distance relationship. Essentially Wheein and the others are faking being in New York, where they actually aren't. That's why at the end of the video the bf and Wheein incidentally meet lol
Another point about the I love too concert - apparently Wheein was actually informed of the VCRs beforehand, whereas the others weren't. That's why she was seemingly alright to continue - the rationale being that there was at least one member who could continue the rest of the song if the rest couldn't haha
And yep Woo Hoo is a commercial for LG. You will come to realise that Mamamoo has quite a few commercial songs that sound like comebacks throughout the journey.

I'm very curious where the 'wheein knew' came from for the vcr. I've seen quite a lot saying it recently but don't recall hearing that back when the concert happened. Just curious if one of the girls or the staff mentioned it somewhere or if it is a fan theory that has gained traction recently. Both of them are equally believable
Was there additional information released recently that said Wheein was informed beforehand? Could you point me to the source, I'm curious too 😂
I love you too is a song for fans, which refers to their first fan meeting where moomoo had Never Letting Go posters and the girls cried when they saw them. Actually, the chorus of the song was written by Solar because she felt excited when Moomoo did an event for her birthday, so she wrote them, recorded it on her cell phone and published it as a thank you, but Moomoo liked it so much that they decided make it an official song so Byul and Hwasa wrote the rest of the song.
Fun fact, the angel line and rapper line had a competition for which of their songs would chart higher (angel line won lol). And YES, woo hoo has no business being that good. Decalcomanie is my favorite Mamamoo title track, but woo hoo is my favorite Mamamoo song (tied with some others). Shame woo hoo was only a commercial song and not a full comeback because it would've slayed so hard.
Memory is the intro and interlude in the Decalcomanie MV. 😃 Their first official sub-unit was only created last year with Mamomoo+ (MoonSun). I've heard of WheeSun called the Angel Line. I have no idea how official any MMM "lines" are though. I believe "I Love Too" is a fan dedicated song they wrote in reaction to a fan organized event to show how much MMM is appreciated. MM does a great job with fan dedicated songs. That's what makes the Queendom "I Miss You" performance so special. They perform it for the fans. And Moon even changes the rap to direct it towards fans. Woo Hoo one of several songs they've done as a commercial, that you want to just playlist immediately. ❤🔥I look forward to your reactions for some other ad songs songs Gleam and Wanna Be Myself.

@@SylverReacts Honestly, the only time i've ever seen MMM even close to phoning it in. Was them performing HIP remotely for BlizzCon during the pandemic. You could just tell they were in some studio in Korea with no feedback from the viewers. And typical RBW did no promotion for it.
I will always get tears whenever I hear I love you too it's so emotional😢😢and New York was the song they tried lipsynch for the first time on live and failed but Moomoos didn't see it in a bad way it made us laugh and gives us the true proof that Mamamoo can only sing live for sure❤❤

Solar and wheein is call angel line. Byul and hwasa is call rapper line. They even call out for vote between the angel and dab dab song, and angel win the vote. I love too is a song write by them for fans. It got another name as “Never Letting Go” because of moomoo who raise this slogan during their performance that solar remember it and write the song. All moomoo will sing it together that will make the whole hall feel with warm heart. There is a strong bond between Mamamoo and moomoo. It is a must sing song in their concert. And by the way, their concert is always with the live band (for Seoul concert) but for overseas might not be cause no budget to bring the band. It such a fun to attend their concert and they really perform for more than 3 hrs, stand until leg become pain😂woohoo is LG advertisement song, how they harmonize for this song, byul rap, and wheein dolphin note, only one word OMG
Yeah, sadly no live band when they were touring here in the states. Alas
This album kind of put two producers (or 3, depending on how you count) on a lot of the fandom's radars, as park woosang (pws, god woosang or, more recently, logos) did both "angel" and "dab dab" while cosmic sound (composer/producer) and cosmic girl (singer/songwriter) did "woohoo". All three have worked with the girls quite a lot since.
"Woohoo" was before the 'cosmic' audio tag that duo started putting on most songs they wrote and produced, but now many rbw artist fans know they're in for a good time when hear it
Cosmic girl, a former kpop group main vocalist, has an especially good relationship with solar, who has collabed on a song with her ("lie ya") and the two have paired up for several medley videos on solar's youtube channel, solarsido.
Park woosang works primarily with wheein and hwasa, esp the latter, who calls him her musical soulmate. Though he has worked with the group as a whole and everyone but solar for solos. He also has filmed mvs for solo songs for everyone but solar.
Hwasa heard he had taken up videography as a hobby so convinced him to do an mv for her song "be calm". Afterwards, he did a short one for the acoustic version of wheein's "easy" and much later, her solo "25", as well as moonbyul's "in my room" (where he was also the male vocals). He left rbw around the same time wheein did, but still works with both her and hwasa, including for their duet on wheein's most recent album, "17" (which he also filmed for). He'll likely be mentioned a lot for songs he worked on in the upcoming albums, same with the cosmic duo
There is actually a mmmtv episode that has solar and wheein just casually doing that intro to "woohoo" and then dragging hwasa in to do it with them. Wish i could remember which episode, though...
Awww.. the emotional "I Love Too" performance. The surprise VCR really hit them especially Solar. The usually stoic leader was overwhelmed with emotions, maybe because seeing her parents greet her and congratulate her (in the middle of performing a song she wrote) was so special given the fact that they were initially against her becoming a singer. So somehow that show of support was a big deal for her. I also love how Hwasa's dad said "daughters".😊
And Wheein being the only one "warned" about the VCR, I mean yeah, someone has to keep it together and sing. 😄

A great album. Angel line and rapper line are semi official sub units, Mamamoo+ last year became an official subunit of moonbyul and solar. Wheein is the artist who did the illustration in memory which is a beautiful christmas song. Angel is perfect because of the fact those two sound so beautiful the emotion is of heatbreak making it more impactful. That song I love you too is a fan song. Solar wrote it because of an incident at a small venue where they girls had not yet made it big and were even considering disbanding. But the moos all brought signs that had the same message about keep going never give up the moos will always want them( I dont remember the exact translation) at that time, Moonbyul was the first to notice the signs and started crying and then the others saw and that of course led to the future for them. Eventually Solar wrote this song and they performed it. The add here is the CEO switched videos. They planned to show their training days(similar to the video they use in I Miss You queendom) but the CEO secretly did these family videos and the ladies did not know until on stage at that moment. They are all actually crying, you can hear a hwasa sob during some singing, though Wheein recovered faster but Solar is normally pretty emotional but it really is amazing she is able to sing perfectly(a couple of sobs on breath) and to sing that well with while crying and feeling whatever extreme emotions going on. Normally I cant even type the name of this video without tearing up. Every Mamamoo album is this good, they have 100s of songs and they do not miss. Yes Woo Hoo is a LG G5 cell phone commerical they all happily sing live on stage at the time. Unbelievable their commercials are this good. Solar does most adlibs but that super high note at the end was Wheein. I have seen videos on that, coaches figuring out live, she can do that as a whistle note or just reach that high, we dont know what was used for the MV but live she did it both ways. Agree if Mamamoo did every commercial, I would love commercials and buy whatever mamamoo tells me to buy. Still the beginning, hearing them do just the beginning of Woo hoo live must be an experience. Add the covers and solo christmas songs to that Christmas playlist, Solar's are easy to find on solarsido, The other 3 all did some last christmas but might be before they had their youtube channels going. Cant remember.
