Owned my set of Kappa 6 since 96' and loved them. I had the woofer refoamed back in 2010 and just now the polydomes rotted out. I have a Acurus DIA100 that I used to drive them and they rocked when you put the power to them. The base driver is so tight with no floppy flutter etc and the mids and highs are crisp. I recommend them especially for the price.
It's no secret I have a heavy bias towards Kappas. I always like the kappa 6 I preferred over to 6.2 I have. I feel it had a lot more to say than the series 2 version of the speaker. Just kind of weird because I prefer the 8.2 over the original copper 8. In many ways... But if you have a kappa 6, you're definitely part of the infinity family. Excellent speakers especially for the prices you can get them these days. And mine I put the Midwest replacement in there, I definitely prefer it over the original plastic ones. I know not a popular opinion amongst fans hahaha. However some people feel it's a little bit too bright I call it more revealing. Definitely gives it a different signature, but for me in a positive way. But also Midwest tells you to adjust the range a little bit.
@@MichelLinschoten Thank you for responding. If you don't mind me asking what did the midwest replacements cost? I would like to past them on to my daughter and want to fix them.
Good to know! Always keeping an eye out for Kappas, but so many have driver damage or deterioration from age. Nice that Midwest is offering a suitable replacement.
Would the brightness some people atest to be caused by the Crossovers not being reworked by simply replacing the components with new better one's of the same value ? I'm not an Infinity Expert (but i wish I was). Just a thought.
Is it possible, most certainly..likely? No, as these speakers did have solen caps so that should still spec just fine. I think as I unpacked the drivers it said on the magnet V2 , I assume they did some changes ?! But I cannot verify that
Good question never tried that , but technically you can. However you'll need to be very frugal with taking the coil wires off . As the dome is glued to the back of the faceplate (it's one whole)
@@MichelLinschoten Are the speaker stands a separate brand from Infinity, to be used with an appropriate sized speaker of one's choice? Or, are they Infinity speaker stands? Also, do the Kappa 6's also have a rear (ambiance) tweeter?

I believe 90 bucks each driver ? And they are fabric looks great and won't ever rot out either.

Dumb question but can you replace the polydome faceplate with these?

Infinity crossovers are basic. Is there a redesign for the new driver? That is the first thing I would ask.
Not sure what you're asking/saying
How tall are your speaker stands?
10 inch slanted couple degrees backwards
@@MichelLinschoten Thanks
