A little tip: dry a lot of small sawdust over the fire and store the metal tool in a basket with sawdust. And wash off the sap of the trees in the water. Otherwise the rust will eat up your instrument.

Those mud brick walls are unprotected by sideways rain. Find lime, sand, cement and some fibre that does not rot until 100 years have passed, to plaster the outside and inside of those walls smooth, to keep them strong. What is you opinion on strong walls for your area of the world?

You could chisel a few holes into the bench and use branch forks as clamp.
Think they are called bench dogs or holdfast.
Alternatively just cut a slot in the side and you can fix things down with wedges.

I know everyone always has ideas. But I use these. Make a hole for a dawg to keep the wood from going off the end when you are planing. And if you will get (I know you don’t have leather) a strap of some kind you can loop around the bench top ove the material you are working, and make sure the loop isn’t long enough to hit the ground. The. When you are sawing put your foot on the bottom of the loop and use your weight to help keep the piece inplace when sawing or going side to side. The dog will keep it from going off the end. Good job sir.

Gr8 job my friend. Nice workbench, very sturdy & square. Now create vice straps using rope and a plank to step on, to hold your pieces in place. Consider making another plane that is balanced when shaving
    Ur weight. Foreward momentum
    Push. Blade. Push
Ur current plane is shaving wood, thus you are adjusting constantly. Making a new plane with weight & momentum distributed on the block plane, you woodwork peices are squared off with less effort & economy of motion. Consider making a saw mill out of the water you got pumping thru your property.

If you use limbs with v shaped notch were 2 branches split.
You can shape the longer side of the V into the peg hole and the the shorter side will act as a vice holding things down.

Please don't 4get to make a carpenters square, a right degree triangle, and measuring tape. A plum & Bob will help you as well. Measuring instruments are important cause you don't want2 produce crooked items, it also allow you to utilize less labor intensive resources. Bcaz you can geometrically use wood builds where normally you would have to use clay, earth etc. Remember when we entered the Iron, metal works era our abilities to advance civilization increased bcaz we were able to build straight stable foundations and buildings, and in so doing imagine & motivate ourselves on to gr8ter things and achievements. Congratulations on all you accomplishments thus far, you are an inspiration from your little world. A possibilities man, crafting his world, in a troubled world. 👏👏👏
