I think HTME's saw is too thick & they didn't bend the teeth as well as this one. However they're trying to make it so it fits in a machine, rather than a handheld saw like this one. HTME also kinda cheats, in that they have the rule that if they've made it once (e.g. a bar of iron/steel, or natural fibre rope) then they *don't have to* make it again by hand & can get it by other means. Be that straight up buying something of similar quality, or maybe getting some made by someone who knows what they're doing. Now, I'm not going to say with absolute 100% certainty that our Primitive Skills guy here doesn't buy some iron ore/scrap & then forge it into the bars he uses, but he definitely stays truer to the primitive lifestyle than HTME does. Then again HTME is meant to be going through the technologies of our ancestors to get to the equivalent of at least the steam/industrial age. One of their goals is to make a steam engine after all. So it's not like we can properly compare the two channels. Edit: Sorry for the paragraphs, I just needed to write down what was in my mind.

A very good demonstration of why people had axes and similar tools long before saws came into use. It's lots of work to make one! Next you will need to make a file or something to sharpen it.
Pro tip: if you’re drawing out your steel to make it longer, don’t hammer it in a dip of your stone. If you want to draw it out fast, hammer it where it’s on a top, or an edge, so that the steel can move away from your hammerstroke, instead of compressing in the hollow under it.
To do this, the blade must be hardened at least a little, otherwise the sharpened sharp teeth will quickly bend and become dull .. hardening at least to 35 HRC will solve all problems .. and the file is not difficult to make, only sharpen the chisel sharper, and forge a square bar .. make an angle risks and then the most important thing is to carry out cementation. In an earthenware vessel, hermetically sealed, without access to oxygen, place a raw file inside and fill it with coal, then this vessel must be heated until red and held for about half an hour so that the cementation penetrates by 1/3, and then you can harden it .. if something is done not so the teeth will simply fly off during operation (

The thing I've probably learned the most from watching all these primitive channels is you can either spend a day making something that might last a month, or you can spend a week making something that'll last years. A perfect example is his log bellows. I'm sure the feathers may get worn, and cracks needed to get filled, but that's easy maintenance. But no one else who has reached the iron stage has as good of air flow, and theirs typically needs to be rebuilt daily. He's had the same log all this year (Dec 19th was when it was uploaded)
That is an Awesome Hand Saw Build. Just think, if you had a File you could Fine Tune the Saw Teeth for a faster and finer cut. Also if you could eliminate the Scale Build Up, this Fine Blade would Glide easily through the cut without many hang ups. You still need a more precise way to set Tooth Pitch. Can't say it enough mate. You did a Fine Job making this Saw. Thanks for the upload.

Ну просто МОЛОДЕЦ!
It’s crazy to think just how much more he will be able to build with just that one saw
With people like this still on the planet, the species may yet survive, epic channel & content, thanks :-)
Oh! Now we see he does have a live studio audience, with balcony seats.
Love all your videos.
Türkiye den selamlar ✋🇹🇷🇦🇿
If you put all of these episodes on DVD, I would buy them.
The frame is such a handy design & seeing it made this way is something else!! Max Egorov (Advoko Makes) uses a similar one with a modern saw blade.
Thats a damn fine saw, nice work...
Please marry this man and rescue him from this jungle. 🤣
Выглядит круто
Cool. Uses the saw to finish making the saw
Few more years he will be in the space age.
I’m not the most experienced smith but when making a bar don’t worry about keeping the bar strait as you make it as long as the shape is good keep working straighten it out at the end it will save so munch time
This man could make his own gaming PC if he wants too
This is mind blowing. Unbelievable.
The best channel survival...👍👍👍👍👍👍
Fabulous look at primitive saws. Every detail included, even the alternating teeth. Thank you.
Pretty darned good, especially for home made in the jungle! 👍😊
Who ever is with or ends up with this guy should be impressed! This has been very interesting to see. Where is he by the way?
Would love to see a front porch too! Somewhere to sit down after a long day and enjoy the view and hard work you've done~
Also, new idea.... Glass blowing???
PLEASE MAKE A PADDLE LATHE IN THE UPCOMMING VIDEO ~ YOU ARE WAY UNDERRATED BY UA-cam
Oh, that's a really nice idea! But i believe they are called "treadle lathes". And it could help him a lot with many projects.
Can you make a grinding stone that is motorized by water?
Just what i wanted to say...
Even a DaVinci water-powered hammer for forging
I almost can't believe how good you are at everything! You are very impressive
Thus marks the end of firecutting logs...
I always enjoy watching your video.
Blacksmith Skills ✅
As a guy who almost lost his fingers a couple of times with "blades" ... I get apprehensive when he's using his tools
he can literally just respawn dude hes on peaceful difficulty
@@ass-master-deluxe 🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic bow saw. Great job!!
This Chanel is the best of the world
would be cool if you made a vice to help and act as an extra hand, might become more helpful as time progresses and your projects become more and more technologically advanced
