- Within two weeks of taking medical cannabis, Fallon Levy’s life was transformed.
The 30-year-old had been suffering 200 seizures a month as a result of a severe form of epilepsy.
For decades the seizures, combined with the powerful epilepsy medicine she had been prescribed, meant it was hard for her to talk, chew food and even sit in a chair.

That costs money though, I'm medical and used to grow, in winter it would cost me £300 a month just to keep my tent warm enough to grow. My medical prescription is only £240 a month. And that was before lekky prices went through the roof.

I have two chronic pain conditions and allergic to opites, opites is all the nhs will prescribe leaving me with no pain relief or help. I pay for a prescription that I can only afford to take 20% of what is prescribed due to the cost. The home office and politicians I have talked to aren't interested in helping. I am going to have to start risking 14 years in jail to get some pain relief. Wonder how many politicians have a personal interest in the opium
I've got a mate who has kidney issues. He got prescribed opiates despite this when he got rushed into hospital.
He's now addicted to opiates and knows that cannabis can help in tackling addiction.

I was looking at mobility scooters 2 years ago and now with cannabis I have been building up muscle again to walk, opites never done that

Last figures I found from 2022 there where a grand total of 3 prescriptions for medical cannabis given out by the nhs.

I live in Michigan where we have literally the finest chronic in the world. And we've got it so low now that you can get a 25% flower ounce for $75.
Cuz the local dealer use pgr's which cause cancer and cause existing health conditions to get worse local dealers care about their pocket not the customers well being ✅️

I had to give up on my private prescription years ago because of poor service, dreadful quality weed and £450 a month bill.

@@Pomples13 It's good to know but I've heard that many times before. so please forgive my scepticism. The stress it caused me was worse than the condition it was supposed to be treating so I wouldn't want to invest time and money in re-starting the process all over again only to run into the same old nonsense with availability, clinics refusing to prescribe certain products, only prescribing one product per appointment and the dreadful dispensaries sending me shake, clippings and floor sweepings while others appeared to be getting vastly better quality products.

The solution is simple: allow a person to get a licence to grow but not sell to sell. You need a licence to do so. If you are growing or selling without a licence, then you are guilty of trafficking. It's not perfect, but unless they don't get their grubby hands on making a bit of money on the side, they'll never do anything to help those who need help. Also, it should be made law that due to the licence fee, there could never be a charge of VAT for 500 years. (2524)
However, the licences are for the number of plants a person has, e.g., 3 plants £30 per year, and so on. Therefore, a person with acres of plants has a lot of money to pay each year. Greed is not good.

The thing thats important is NHS. It doesnt cost thousands per month privately, thats a lie. It costs about £150 for a consultation with a private doctor and youmcan buy oil, flower, vapes and its not,particularly expensive. As someone whos in the process of trying to get my own prescription i know how it works and other than the private doctor fees the products themselves arent that expensive. I dont know how on earth they manage to be charged so much. Yes better access to weed is needed but this is such a hyperbolic article.

I suffer from serious debilitating leg temours and have been informed by a GP that once I get to the maximum dosage of pramipexole there is nothing more I can take. When asking a GP if I could try cannabis I got told its not available on the NHS. She told me that it takes years to test drugs before they can be dispensed to which I replied.....what like the covid vaccines !!!!
I also wanted to try melatonin to try to help me sleep as Im allergic to sleeping tablets , again got told its not available for me.
I think that this is to do with the american pharma companies that apparently are buying up doctors surgeries. I dont like much being lied to by GP,s and am now stockpiling medications in preparation for ending my life when the time comes that my conditions become unbearable to live with.

Because its a very grey area at the moment. I'm a medical patient myself, and patients are being arrested and stigmatised for using it even with a prescription and relevant paperwork. Even the police don't know the laws as they have not been updated by the government on policy even though it has been legal for 5 years. The law around it is stupid, I can still be arrested for smoking a joint, but not vaping. It does the bloody same thing!! The Government doesn't make any money if you grow your own so will never be fully decriminalised in this country

In the meantime from what I understand if you grow up to 9 plants you will only get a small fine if they catch you . If you get caught with more plants then they are tougher on you. I think in Germany they are all springing into autoflowers about now hey hey for them
They might not be able to send you to prison, but they will still arrest you, throw you in the sells for a few nights, interrogate you at any hour of the day or night, before letting you go with a fine. That’s quite a stressful thing to happen to any law abiding person. For someone with a debilitating chronic illness something like that could take months, possibly years, to recover from. For a lot of us just coping with ordinary life takes every scrap of energy we have. We don’t have the reserves to cope with getting a visit from the cops.

Nothing is perfect but this lady in the documentary was paying 2000 quid a month and now has to sell her house to keep paying for it. If her house is worth... say ... 300,000 pounds then in about 12 years time she would have no money left to help her daughter and no house . Then that is a real big problem.

As a sufferer of Inflammatory arthritis and fibromyalgia, I may not need the opioid based medications if the government legalised cannabis. This should've been legalised decades ago. To me, this sounds more about money than health.

yes but you can make it own liquid from bud very simply you need to research it and why can't you make edibles she can have edibles sativa I don't believe indica works for epilepsy. if you do not heat it you do not get high from it but you need the THC what is THA before heating as long as it's probably 50° or below you'll be fine you make ice cream if you want.
you can sign up to a private clinic get a doctor's prescription this is legal now!! it's not particularly expensive usually allowed about 50g a month what should cost you about £150.
it's not about the NHS yes more needs to be free on the NHS but you just join a clinic... there's lots of them about around the country licence to sell and with professional doctors.

It’s outrageous, medical cannabis saves millions of lives and helps people suffering and I know of many people who use cannabis to treat Epilepsy and many other conditions that cause daily life to be very hard to live and I personally use medical cannabis to help my ADHD and Autism struggles which get in the way of my day to day life and I’ve tried many common medications for adhd and they all disagreed with me and medical cannabis is the only medicine that helps me the most and doesn’t disagree with me. But overall I think it should be completely decriminalised and made available to anyone who needs it to help with any conditions they find it helps with and statistics do show how beneficial it is to people who are in need of it including myself and millions of others. Please, please, please think deeply into it and decriminalise it eventually our government!
We can get prescriptions for opioids that can be very addictive that can contain herion codeine, tramadol, but yet they won't prescribe cannabis for for patients who need it to help pain so what's the difference?
You literally have to jump through hoops to try and get a px, including taking normal prescription medication before even being put forward to discuss your issues with a canabis dr. If you pay privately, the canabis dr will point you back to your own gp and insist you try normal medication first. All normal medications, for the sorts of issues canabis can treat, have to state on the packaging that they may lead to a change in mood, they may cause you to become violent to others or yourself. Let that sink in.... they would rather you took synthetic medications that may lead to the worst things! They have a higher chance of making your problem worse than they do of improving it! We dont need big pharma to licence it either, British Sugar are the biggest producers of medical grade canabis in the world, local farmers near me have been running trials since the mid 90's. Its already profitable.

2 thousand a month ? you can get a private script from mamedica in uk from around 300 pounds setup , then choose your meds each month , prices range from 6 pounds a gram upwards , 60 grams , if my maths are right thats 360 a month on meds ,, 60 grams should be ample . the only prerequisite is you must have had at least one prescription of mainstream meds from your gp . For example ,if you need it for sore leg as long as your gp has given you painkillers then you qualify .
theres a channel on here called drewissharing , he has videos explaining and documenting the whole process, mamedica is just one in the uk out of many clinics that do this , his videos tell you where to go to get the list of clinics . at least 20 products available from mamedica , i think they deliver it via courier straight to your door . The poor lady in the video is getting ripped off .
