    Hi dear, thanks for sharing useful information.
    I have 4 Gazania plants blooming very well even in 40° temp.
    Do these plants die in rainy season?
    Can it be saved for next season? Actually I don't want to loose them.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 роки тому +2

      @irshad khan, Most welcome and sorry for taking time to respond :-( Good to know your plants are blooming in 40° temp, that's great. And, you are right..they can't tolerate heavy rainfall..get attacked by many fungal disease. You can save them but not much worth as they are not going to bloom the similar way as most of them are annual. But still, if you like to save them for next season, make sure you are protecting them from heavy rainfall and use fungicide on a regular basis. You would also need to fertilize less frequently and if you don't see any growth, don't fertilize at all. You can start fertilizing again from Sept onwards! Hope that helps and good luck :-)

    Would you be kind enough to explain how does covering the drainage holes with ceramic pieces help with drainage? Many thanks!

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 роки тому +3

      @KayO, It's just like filtering process :-) As I covered the holes, soil won't come out through the holes, only water. Please note, it's not 100% blocking like concrete. If we don't keep anything, sometimes, even roots of the plants would come out through the holes and eventually block those holes completely (which we really don't want to happen). Hope, you got it :-)

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  5 років тому

      @anjana gejje, sorry to know about that. But Neem oil works if you combine with light hand wash. For example - 5-7 ml Neem oil + 4 ml light hand wash in 1 liter water. However, if you are okay with chemical pesticide then you can use either Rogor or Roket - 1 ml in 1 liter water. Applying only once would be fine and plz don't take more than 1 ml per liter, they are extremely powerful. I would also recommend you to watch one of my video about powerful organic pesticide here - ua-cam.com/video/NuMzYzsxlOA/v-deo.html Thank you :-)

    What about rain water? In Bangalore we get a huge amount of rain all through the year. Is it damaging for gazania?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 місяці тому

      Yes..too much rainfall is not good for Gazania plants..but if I am not wrong, frequent rainfall stops from Oct-Nov onwards? It's a Winter flowering plant and if there is no frequent rainfall in winter, you shouldn't get any issues. As you are from Bangalore, though to share one thing...I was in Bangalore for 10 years..long back though (2001-2011) and I know, situation may not be same now (mainly temp). But whatever it is, I still miss the GRAND city, beautiful place! At that time, one glass of Mango juice was only Rs. 10..he he...

    Hello, I have a question , Why my gazania plant is not growing up? I plant them on 10th nov 2019..

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  5 років тому

      @puja das, thank you for your question. Since it's not growing, it's lacking something. Perhaps, the problem is in the soil, it's not getting enough sunlight, not getting enough water or getting more water. If you can provide me few details about your plant, I would be able to provide proper solutions. But still, you can try fertilizing your plant once if you haven't so far. If your plant is getting enough sun and water, just 3-4 DAP crystals would be enough to improve the health of your plant. Thank you :-)

    • @pujadas2026
      @pujadas2026 5 років тому +1

      @@GardeningUpbeatthanks for the reply .. I will definitely apply DAP crystals..
      I placed it under full sunlight and watered it whenever the upper surface of the soil got dry... And a tiny little bud has already visible.. should i pluck it? Because the plant itself is not that healthy to produce a flower...

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  5 років тому +1

      @puja das, Most welcome and you are doing everything perfectly. No need to pluck the bud, you can let it bloom :-) You would be able to see the change in 10 days just after applying DAP and plant would be healthy. Good luck and let me know if you find any issue :-)

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  5 років тому

      @Punam Bisht, thank you for watching the video. 3.5" depth is bit low but they would bloom as they are hardy plant. For a 6" pot, 5-6 DAP crystals can be applied at once. If it's 4", then 2-3 would be more than enough. Plz avoid applying too much as this would burn the plant. If you have any questions, plz let me know and I would be glad to answer it. Thank you once again :-)

      @GardeningUpbeat  5 років тому

      @Punam Bisht, I got it now :-) 5-6 would be more than enough and while applying the DAP, please don't apply to close to the plants. You can apply surrounding the tray like I did in my pot.
