Very helpful and proud to be a subscriber. Do you have a list of what varieties you will be using this year for all of the main summer garden plants, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, etc.?
Your videos are ALWAYS helpful! That's why you are going to surpass one million subscribers by summer and I can't think of any content creator who has earned it more. I have learned more from you than from any other single source and you don't make us wade through a lot of useless drivel, it's all a steady stream of valuable information in a well organized format; detailed but easy to follow and understand. And of course the Dale segments are the icing on the cake. He's a beautiful sweet boy and you are setting a great example for people to pamper their four-legged best friends :)
That was THE BEST explanation of starting vegetables I’ve ever heard. Now I know why many things succeeded and didn’t succeed in my garden! Thanks so much. You just completely changed my one-time planting everything habit! 😂
You're welcome! These things take practice and experience to get right, but once you figure it out it becomes muscle memory. All the fun in gardening is the "figuring it out" process.
Also in NC. Your channel helped me a bunch last season (was my first time gardening). Got a late start last year, but I've got some purple brussel sprouts, mizuna mustard, Egyptian spinach already going in the frow tent! Gonna order some more seeds soon. Thanks for the easily digestable info. ❤ From JoCo
Dale really does have some good pipes. Happy fifth gotcha day!! He looks so happy and is so well taken care of!! Handsome, sweet Dale does deserve kisses!! Thank you for sharing his big day!!!

@TheMillennialGardener my new try last year in the fall was kohlrabi. It didn't grow, something ate them all plus some kale plants as soon as I transplanted them. Whole plants were ate down. Only thing I saw was pill bugs. They say they are harmless, but I had so many that the dirt appeared to move. They were under some fallen leaves. Sluggo worked. Never got to taste kohlrabi. Lol. This year I'm doing early brassicas as well as fall brassicas.

I let my dill self-seed. I haven't sown dill seeds on purpose in probably 2 years. Parsley, the germination rates for self-seeding are terrible, so I always have to start transplants for them. Basil, I plant carefully, so I always seed them...except last year's Holy Basil. I let that thing go to seed and I'm going to be fighting it in that spot for years...
I've never been able to get Thai chili seeds to germinate healthily, but this year at your advice with a seedling heat mat they are doing much better than my previous attempts!
They are a very hot pepper and will like hot temps. Soil temps of 85-90 degrees will get you really good germination for the Thai chilies. Keep in mind those temps may be too hot for other seeds. I would recommend having a large 48" seed mat set for 80 degrees for your general crops, then a separate small mat set for 85-90 degrees for the hot peppers.
I find this so helpful but also I feel so far behind. I grow garlic, greens ,cabbage and some herbs during g the winter. I truly appreciate the amount of food u grow in the cold and how u stay up on food gaps. You inspired me to grow kale and spinach during g the winter but they didnt do well for me. Congratulations on your new homestead as well. Appreciate your videos.

Ive had great success with celery.from seeds and the cut base of celery purchases fr the grocery store. 2 plants lived for more rhan 2 yrs. I eventually pulled them up because they greaw too tall & got woody. I think I was lucky enough to have picked a perfect location & mild winters when I had this success. Either way I'm going to plant more in the same location in a few wks. The spot I chose is in a corner where my raised carpot floor and brick wall surrounding my pation meet. The grounds benefits from a roof overhang in frost & sun. I also have a large Turks Cap nearby that is very willing to extend an few arms in that direction to provise additional Summer shade. This location is easy to keep moist too. If anyone else has a spot with similar conditions, try growing some celery. Mine tasted sweeter and stronger rhan any I had ever bought from a store. The only thing I didnt do was cover the stalks of the plants to force the stalks to broaden like atore bought. I was happy with mine having tasty, slightly more slender stalks without all that addtional work. Good luck y'all!
I'm starting over here in the panhandle of Florida. Everything was snowed on. I think the radishes are ok. We will see. I'm going to do some seeds indoors here, just in case.
suggestion: As a Canadian who also watches your channel, maybe to also add the climate zones for Canada as well so that we can see what applies to our particular zones too..? Food for thought 🙂
As I mentioned in the video, hardiness zones are basically irrelevant. They are only meaningful for perennials, not annuals. Everything is based on frost dates.
I finally just finished building my hardware cloth garden cage chest, my crops got eaten by rodents before i built it and now I'm soo happy to say everything is starting to re grow and make a comeback 😁 might still have enough time to grow them to full maturity and sell them at the farmers market

Cant wait to start my SEEDS!!! Keep up the good work! your videos are super fun and helpful!
I'm glad to hear it! Thanks!
February!! Let's start planting!!
Such a amazing video ❤🇨🇦🙏
Thank you!
Interesting video thank you God bless 🙌 🙏
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!
Amazing video! Thanks so much.
You're welcome!
Thank you so much
I'm starting over here in the panhandle of Florida. Everything was snowed on. I think the radishes are ok. We will see. I'm going to do some seeds indoors here, just in case.
Radishes should be OK. The funny thing about snow is it can actually insulate the plants to a degree. Everything here has finally melted.
I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Have you considered growing Jicama?
I appreciate it! I've only eaten jicama maybe 2-3 times in my life, so it has not been something I have considered growing.
Good stuff! Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome!
We already started our seeds inside on heat mats & shop lights here in zone 9 in Texas .
Thank you
Outstanding! Things are looking up.
Hi tin 👋 greetings amazing stuff yeah 💯💯💯💯
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Yes!! I am so excited to garden! Let's gooooooo!😁
There is light at the end of the tunnel!
suggestion: As a Canadian who also watches your channel, maybe to also add the climate zones for Canada as well so that we can see what applies to our particular zones too..? Food for thought 🙂
As I mentioned in the video, hardiness zones are basically irrelevant. They are only meaningful for perennials, not annuals. Everything is based on frost dates.
@ yes makes sense. Just thought it might be something nice to include. I'm still watching anyways 🙂 lots of good info.
Happy Got You Day Dale!
Thank you 🐶 We appreciate it!
@@TheMillennialGardener Hope he enjoyed his cake.
