@@morgan.r_taylor Justine mentions them around 0:13. She says she fitted this dancer in them. They have a shaped box and no shank. Some people call them demi pointe shoes because you're not meant to actually dance en pointe in them.
I love these videos!! I used to work at a dance wear store and our "bread & butter" was fitting and selling our pointe shoes. I am curious why in some of the videos you don't always mention the brand and style of the shoes? It would be really helpful for me (and I am sure others) to know why you switch/change and make decisions about different shoes for different feet/dancers amidst each fitting. I am very familiar with what's out there and can likely guess what shoes you are using but I would like to see your thought process behind these fittings in choosing certain shoes so that I can help my dancers with their pointe shoe searches even better! Thank you again, the content is amazing... as usual!
I have a very narrow foot and I got the Capezio Ava’s if you have a narrow heel I recommend them. I just got them yesterday they fit perfectly. They are my first pair and I have strong and flexible feet so my pointe shoes have a harder shank.
my teacher said that hopefully by next summer I’ll be in pointe shoes! I’ll be 11 by then so the normal age a little early but if I’m ready then I’ll be happy I have very flexible and strong ankles and so that’s a plus it’ll be something I’m looking forward to
Yayyy I’m third 😂 At my first pointe class we did turns in center lol I have a super flexible foot so I’m in Russian Pointe Rubins with a Flexible Hard shank and Ive had them for like 7 months and they’re still not dead yet (part of it I wasn’t on pointe because of an injury though)
Do you have time and money for classes now? Then go for it! Look up a ballet school in your area, that offers beginner's classes for your age and try it out☺️
I have a disease in my heal it’s called Severs Disease Any suggestion on what pointe shoe ribbon etc PS I am getting my first pair on shoes for next dance season I have never been on pointe before.
Please make a video on a first pair of pointe shoes with someone who has long legs and the big toes a long and a wide gap in between the big toe and 2nd toe and has very flexible feet and not very strong feet. I have that and don’t know what pointe shoe would fit me so please can you help me ???
its okay to be 14 and not em pointe yet. Im 14 and I just got the green light. Ive only been dancing for a year so it is very possible. I highly reccomens practicing barre exercizes ballances in Passe retire and coupe in wrapped foot and LOTS OF RELEVES. Just wrok hard and you will be fine.
She needs to ask the dancer if she is feeling any Paine like it isn’t about how pretty it is for there first point shoe because they aren’t performing in them. It is about getting them a shoe that works for THEM that has little to no pain
aastha sharma well you could but doing pointe and not taking classes or anything can be very dangerous. you should have a teacher there to guide you. if you really wanna do pointe try and take some dance classes!
Hii ! I just bought a new pair of pointe shoes (Bloch European Balance) and it fitted perfectly at the fitting but when I tried them on at home again they started to hurt my achilles tendon. The problem: I can’t return them and everything else is perfect. I feel they fit quite well except from the fact that it really hurts when I roll up especially in demi pointe. They’re not my first pair so I know that the shoe is actually not too small as my toes aren’t crunched or anything. As I just moved far away from where I lived before there is no chance to return them...so is anybody here who might know a solution for this problem? It’s just I can’t understand myself as it fitted at the fitting and now it doesn’t anymore...Can I do anything to make them longer at the back? Thanks for answering if u had a solution 😊😊
You could try a different ribbon. Sometimes stretchy ribbons or the ones with the elastic sewn into them can alleviate rubbing/pain on the Achilles tendon. Bloch Elastorib, Bunheads Flexers, Primasoft stretchy ribbon, and I think Gaynor Mindon makes both types.
Karm1200 thank u so mich for ur answer! It’s not about the ribbon I didn’t sew it on so far because even without anything (ribbon and elastic) it hurts my achilles tendon...:(
Is it just rubbing on your heel or actually making the tendon itself hurt? I had a pair of shoes where I put the elastics on too tight and it gave me horrible blisters. But if it’s causing tendinitis that’s a different issue.
Can you please do a video about pre pointe shoes?!
yessss

True but they're not very common. Very few schools use them.
@@morgan.r_taylor it sounds like this school Justine is at uses them, so I'm curious
Yeah....
I’m getting my first pair on Saturday!!! My teacher sent me this video to see what to expect from a fitting
That is my friend and I was sitting right next to her when they were filming 👯♀️😋
Ruby Pisaturo is that you in the mirror? 😂
No that’s her mom but I’m sitting next to her mom
Do you know which brand and type she ended up getting? I have exactly the same feet, so I would love to know.
Ppendu she got bloch
Did u get ur pointe shoes on the same day?
please can you do a video fitting someone with different feet types, like someone with “greek” feet, with the second toe longer than the first x
She has. Just have to watch more of her videos.
Megan Stewart yeaaa I have that

I’m getting my first pair of pointe shoes this summer 🤪
Hazel Maxwell I just got mine yesterday
Congrats to both of you
How did it go?
If you got fitted yet

I think she doesn’t say it because some kids will buy them just because Josephine recommends it
Can you do a video about how strong you need to be for pointe shoes?
You should name the shoes that you try
I’m so excited my teacher said I could start pre point
omg this is my friend getting the fitting!

Plus I just got the ok from my Director to get my first pair of pointe shoes
What recommendation do you have for boys looking for their first pointe shoes
They actually did a video on pointe shoe fitting for men a few months ago! Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/lSNpvLSNlV0/v-deo.html :)
Pointe shoes are not for men ballet flats are for men
She has nice feet 🌸
Beautiful fitting 💕
On tour do you do the fittings?
Pointe letters are going to be handed out in 3 weeks really hope i get one
i’m getting on pointe next year and i’m so excited! ☺️
basiic omg same 😊
ooo how did it go?
What do pre pointe shoes look like?
Late response, but they look just like pointe shoes. They just do not have shank.
LOVE this.... one comment- could you show people what kind of toe pads the dancer needs? other that that i love your vids!!!
I have a disease in my heal it’s called
Severs Disease Any suggestion on what pointe shoe ribbon etc
PS I am getting my first pair on shoes for next dance season I have never been on pointe before.
What are your thoughts on the Bloch eurostretch for beginners? I know they say it’s a full shank but they have a split sole.
What brand is the pointe shoes she is fitting?
Cherine Laivin I think it’s Bloch!
Marin ballet!

If you're starting pointe soon, you should probably just get fitted. There are fitters all around the world.
Is it ok to not be en pointe at 14?
I'm 15 and not on pointe but I only started 6 months ago! I hope to be on pointe in a year or so :) You'll be fine!
Annalise puppy ofcourse it is ok not to be en pointe at 14, it really depends of your strength of ankles, don’t be worried x
Yeah, my friend was in ballet for most of her grade school years. She was given the green light to go en pointe, but she flat out refused.

Tysm everyone! Good news is that I will officially be wearing Demi pointe shoes

Josephine❤❤❤❤😄
Well I get my shoes at 11.... my school is Vagonova everyone goes en pointe very early.
I love legs

She doesn’t want girls to roll their ankle but fits someone on carpet
K’s Life she’s on a tour, she works with what she has.
do you guys know if i can get fitted for pointe shoes if I don't actually learn ballet, but I know the positions/do other types of dance?

Maybe you tightened the drawstring to match? Try making it loser.
