Very nice, happy to see this come together! This is a feature I think could be pretty easy to work in, but what about a "fade-to-black" trigger of some kind? So you can smoothly fade between camera shots with a quick fade in-to and out-from a black screen? I also notice that the camera sometimes appears to "jitter" when returning to the player from a cinematic, showing a single frame of something it shouldn't. A little fade-from-black could hide that, and generally make the transition a bit "softer".
You can do that already, simply by using the fade slider, which adds a fade to black at both the start and end of your shot (the slider sets how long the fade should take). The jitter is an unfortunate side effect on how we control the cameras; once a cinematic finishes, it takes a few milliseconds to recall the player camera position and orientation and move the camera to this point. This sometimes results in one frame where the camera orientation is off. As of yet, we haven't found a workaround to this. Thanks for watching!
Where can I find this example map? I assume it would be in the map bank but I can't seem to find it. I verify the integrity of the files on steam to make sure everything downloaded after purchasing and it doesn't seem to show up.
@@thatmodelguy6011 You should have a folder in mapbank that contains several examples maps. Can you confirm whether you have that? I'm not at my computer right now but I think it's literally called "Cine Guru examples"
@@TannerProductions it wasn't there the first time around but I went and had some breakfast and came back and it showed up in the main game guru Max folder not the one in my documents. Steam must be acting funny with my update. Anyway, I just transferred over the map files and now they're showing up in the program. One more thing, where would the documentation be located? I looked under guides and some other places and can't seem to find it. I know it's probably somewhere obvious. Thanks for getting back to me by the way, I can already tell by messing with it this is going to let me do some cool stuff in my game!
@@thatmodelguy6011 yes, because it's a dlc pack, Steam installs it to your main Game Guru MAX folders, wherever they happen to be, not your personal copy of mapbank, which can be easily overwritten. The manual can be found in Files/scriptbank/Cine Guru MAX (again, in your Steam Apps, not the GameGuru Apps folder in my documents). There's also the Discord if you want to ask a more specific question.
@@TannerProductions awesome, found it. I wouldn't have thought to check the script bank. I appreciate your help! I will have to join the discord after I get done tinkering around and reading the manual. Thanks again
Consent is a cool horror game made a couple of years ago with FPSC. And it's creator Paul's Caveworks told me they are working on another FPSC horror a little while ago. They usually make music for games. It goes to show you that it ISN'T dead. And keep an eye out for that game.
So happy this is out now.
I do have a question: Where do I find the demo level and the tutorials?
The manual is in scriptbank and the video tutorials are all in a playlist here: ua-cam.com/play/PLWByU8rkCD9ZvqvV9iHnjedmaAb8IQ7Ih.html
