I worked and lived in a dairy community on the Oregon coast..... Tillamook. All of the cows waste is collected into huge concrete holding tanks and is eventually used as a fertilizer. Some of the tanks have a big cover over them that collects the methane gas which powers a generator that gives electric to the farm.
@rjthomasindyusa I'm glad to know that. I frquently buy Tillamook products-butter , ice cream, and occasionally cheese. ITheir products taste very good- especially the ice cream.
@@dawnalawrence6584 Tillamook gets alot of rain. The Pacific Ocean is a few miles away on the West coast and it is surrounded by a dense forest on the East. The grass grows long and the cows have plenty of space to roam on most farms. Many of the farms have machines that scratch and massage the cows. The USDA does a pretty good job in Tillamook.
Flood plain Tillamook, mmmm the cheese. 1 of many Mayflower Ships, resting at the factory... Golden memories, from days gone by... My home state, where many places, hardly resemble their former selves... They are very active concerning animal husbantry and land management improvements...
@@UnkoHoloHolo lol... Yep. I was living there during a 500 year flood. We were without power for almost a week. All of 101 was under water. I go back every few years to visit friends and unlike Portland.... Tillamook doesn't change much. Tillamook really is a magical place..... I think about it all the time.
@rjthomasindjusa Same where I live. Still, this “natural fertiliser” enters the soil ➜ enters the groundwater ➜ reaches the waterways. Moreover, biodiversity is diminished by cutting down trees and any kind of fertiliser. Methane emissions keeps being a huge problem. Worst of all, the cruelty towards the animals persists. In short: if we think keeping cows for meat and dairy can ever be sustainable or ethical, we’re kidding ourselves.
This “documentary” is so one side. do your own research and make your own minds up. don’t get pulled into propaganda..
The propaganda comes from those with power. The meat and dairy industries have LOADS of power.
@@CaroAbebe pretty straight propaganda from the greenwashing fake meat cohort. Most one sided piece I’ve ever seen.
Straight out of the socialist elites playbook..
@@CaroAbebe yea sure
@@CaroAbebepropaganda comes from those who pin these industries to the holy cult of climate change. They want us to eat bugs hell no!

I remember when the original posted this said he will keep it free and not make you pay money. A month later you hade to pay $2 to watch it. Thank you random dude for posting this but for free.
Thank you so much for posting this
It is pity what you can not see solution - shift from obsolete nature destructive Ag to regenerative Ag which mimicking natural cycles in wilderness where cattle represent it's ecological role and improve stability of the ecosystem. Precision fermentation itself has an issue regarding obtaining material for fermentation process from destructive Ag
methane gas can be used as energy.. the plastic mountains of trash release a lot of methane gas but.... many lakes are emitting methane gas by the tons.....
Why you guys not asking the ppls who Cut OLD trees for making her/his Homes...Have you made ever any film on that?.. why trees being cut for HOME..Is this the justice for planet ?
Sounds like whataboutism. You can’t touch upon every single problem humans are causing in one single documentary.
This documentary is about 'Cows' and 'Milk' - nothing to do with 'trees' or 'homes' - big difference.
This was an awesome expose of how we are burying our heads in the sand about our food production. We all need to go plantbased NOW, IF we want our kids and grandkids to have a life....
I was working on the roof of a huge slaughterhouse in Sioux City for a couple of months, the thousands of bulls that are standing around all day watching their friends get murdered turn gay. Guess they're just trying to get the rest..off. Everyone thought it was hilarious taking videos when they could. I do think the addition we were building was for soft music and air conditioning before...then someones dinner.
Great exposé. I never knew New Zealand is "China's Dairyland."
Very informative and concerning 😟... too bad that multinational corporations only care about money not environment nor how ecosystems die as a result of their activities
What environment? This is a scheme to hoodwink people. Promotion of synthetic foods by the industrial complex isn't the wise way to move. Leaving the minority rich to have control over the sources of food will be detrimental to the whole universe. They are after the middle class and are keen to kill their sources of livelihood. If this leftist climate cultists are allowed to control the food sources they will control us. I say no to synthetic industrial foods.
Say no to industrial synthetic foods promoted by the environmental cultists.
@@avataros111 that's right... but there is no political good will from politicians

The Dairy industry is not the only issue, nor the root cause of depleting enviromental changes. This documentry is a sided perspective. There is a bigger picture, that makes up a mural. Of; whats really going on... Ono to see, NZ shout out on what impacts their aina and the earth. Malama i kei aina 🤙🤙🤙
Of course it’s not the only issue, but a hugely important one that’s mostly overlooked.
At point 46:16 the point was made that there isn't enough "clean" water to make Oatmilk. However they also made the huge point a bit earlier that growing crops instead of dairy farming the land took a lot less water. So are they feeding mastu eater to cows or is there something I am missing. Either there is water for cows or for plants to make plant based milk.
They were referring to specific regions where the polluted water would end up in the plants, hence the oatmilk.
You blame dairy and animals but don't talk about other industries who are polluting the globe in the same way
My father, when he was a young man in the 1930's was a fruit farmer (mostly apples) and he was jealoua of the dairy farmers because they made a lot more money. I am sure he would think differently knowing what we now know.
Thank you for highlighting this problem!!!
This just ripped my heart straight from my chest. Wtf is wrong w these ppl?
You don't like facts and evidence?
I know it can be hard to acknowledge that we are doing something wrong, but not doing so would be worse
What’s wrong with the human species, you mean?
The best choice i have made in my life is becoming vegan
Why 😂😂😂😂😂😂
"If some really smart person in a white coat comes up with a dairy alternative, but is a quarter of the cost, and doesn't have the environmental impact, then I'm sorry dairy, you're toast"
look into precision fermentation
edit: oh, you did
Read what Allan Nation, Joel Salatin and others have done and are doing. The knowledge of grazing or natural pruning of grassland by herbivores is more productive than most think and in multiple facets of our environment. Its good to see both sides and should be easily known especially if we know our food, meet your farmers and put your eyes and ears to know how the operation is functioning. Go further in researching everyone as it should be normal to seek knowledge.
Climate the movie, the cold truth.
Mindset is to provide but how much do u need
"Chronic disease [among the Maori] was almost unheard of before colonization' but now, with one of the highest dairy consumption rates in the world, Maori suffer from higher rates of diabetes, heart disease and cancers." (minute 34)
Prior to the arrival of the Europeans (1840), life expectancy of the Maori, as of all other population groups on the planet, was so much lower than today.
Wrong, sugars , simple carbohydrates and gluten causes all that you have stated
@@kenmbuco1675 I did not list anything. Life expectancy was at or below 40 years everywhere in the world.
@@glps6167 didn't I see you talk of cancer and diabetes? This is a misinformed piece of media theatrics hell bent on hearsays and guilt tripping. The proposal of synthetic milk is just insane. Clmte Chang is a scam

The people we elect is not doing their job
He's on the himp
Lab grown beef and plant based milk
Breastfeeding from a different species who are reared in a factory environment- what could go wrong with addiction to lacto morphine and caeso morphine
While I consume meat products, I have not consumed any dairy for years (after reading The China Study by T Collin Cambell). It's a start. The treatment of all living creatures which we take advantage of, that sacrifice so much for us, is horrific.

need to bring back the Queen's Chain, both sides of all water ways.
From now on dogs and cats are outlawed! What would you say? They are not in charge.

Nz rivers streams lakes soils totally polluted .
Nz sells itself as clean and green total b/s !!
Thanks for this presentation of the shadow side of the dairy industry. The inevitable decline of this industry will make NZ capsize if the farmers don' t wake up soon.

Yeah, it’s hard to acknowledge the truth, isn’t it? We’d eventually need to change our behaviour if these were facts, and we obviously can’t, since … we’d much rather destroy everything than behave in an intelligent, constructive manner.
Well said just some funny insinuations of people who have never held a real job.

It’s disagreeable to acknowledge the truth, isn’t it, because as soon as we acknowledge the facts we know we need to make a change.

This sounds like a propaganda film for veganism
Covid 19 jumping from a lab to a human does not involve animals, full stop.
Otherwise a worthwhile documentary.
1. Even if it did come from a lab, which hasn’t been conclusively proven, it did come from animals: humans.
2. Most dangerous viruses are indeed zoonotic, meaning they originated in nonhuman animals and eventually infected human beings. AIDS, the original SARS viruses, MERS, influenza…
