It's so encouraging to see you report on regenerative farming. Please keep looking into the farming industry. If journalists and the voices of the next generation turn a blind eye to it, nothing will change and factory farms will just keep the local farmer down. THANK YOU JOEL SALATIN ! For being an EXAMPLE of how we are SUPPOSED TO DO ! and Teaching us How as well ! You are one of our SAVIORS ! We are blessed that you exist !
our family attended the Homesteader's of America conference (Joel's event) last October before heading out to our off grid cabin in Arkansas for the first time. It was so good for my soul. It felt like we had stepped back in time to the 90's maybe even earlier. Kids were running all over god's creation & policing their own! Mothers with little babies (me included) felt so welcome at all the lectures even with our kids making noises. You know how when a baby makes noise in church, someone will turn around and look every single time? yeah not here. The sounds of happy or needy babies didn't disturb this crowd for a second. We had so much fun, and for the first time in years relaxed. The overall feeling there was indescribable. It was like a happy family reunion. We bought tickets for it this year, but found out I was pregnant and due literally the week it happens so that's not going to workout. I cannot encourage y'all to checkout the event for yourselves emphatically enough.
We really need to help support local and small farms. Many stores and large scale operations just don’t have the same quality any more and you can’t trust labels now a day. I went to a farmers market and it was amazing. I have my own tiny garden and it smells lovely and hope to have my first little crop soon of tomatoes and bell peppers. It is so rewarding to learn and it feels amazing knowing that you grew them yourself!
I LOVE this video. I normally try to not say love unless I would give my life for said something, but I might just give my life if we could return to a strong influential body of people who would give back this kind of glory to the Creator! I love this! I nearly cried!
My friend Angela was at this event! She runs a homeschool co-op in Maryland called peaceful world schoolers and she wrote a book, Gospel-based parenting. When she was babysitting my daughter, her daughter was like 6 and had children’s books self-published on Amazon. This woman is so cool! @Alex please interview her!! ❤❤
Thank you so much Alex for educating us on so many wonderful things, and opening our minds to new and exciting ideas. His blessing at the end was so uncommon and sweet, it made me tear up.
Alex, thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing this documentary. I will rewatch this over and over again as I’ve learned so much on first listen and know I’ve missed much. God bless Joel, Senator Massie, and you. ❤
Watching this just brought me to tears. This is so wholesome, exciting, and so achievable. I am so excited to get started on my own homestead journey. We’ve totally lost sight of our food and family in America, I think if more of us did exactly what Joel is doing. We would be more connected to our food and each other. It wouldn’t just solve health issues, It would solve a lot of other things. ❤ thanks Alex for this video, I love the work you do!!!!
Love this. I was telling my husband I used to feel weird that I actually like and admire the hard work it takes to run a farm. I’ve always wanted a farm. In the past, I’ve had to care for farms short term as a full time petsitter. And i always loved it. Even if it meant leaving my warm bed Christmas Day and driving through a snow storm to make sure the cows, chickens, dogs, etc were ok. Or getting stuck in mud hole on a windy dirt road 😂 I must be crazy to love that. 🤪
How do we support more farmers like this man?! I just started ordering meat from a local farm here in AZ but I wish there was a way we could help out more
The land, money, and manpower doesn’t exist to produce most of the food we consume like this. Unfortunately big industrial agriculture is necessary to feed 8 billion people.
Not according to many if the regen folks. If there were many little regen farms, the plants, animals , and humans would be healthier and much more priductive. Check out Mark Hyman, MD interviews of Allen Williams, PhD (geneticist) and Gabe Brown. When working with creation, there is abundance. When working against creation, it is a costly battle-health, profit...
@@Marilou-g5t I’ve checked them out, Gabe Brown specifically used completely organic seeds, which are already expensive. If all farmers decided overnight to attempt to buy those types of seeds the supply wouldn’t even exist, and the price would skyrocket. The economics just aren’t there.
@@midwestribeye7820 un-irrigated wheat produces around 4 million calories per acre, corn more than twice that. So if we say mono crops average around 6 million calories yielded per acre, and compare that to 1-2 steers per acre/year (which would be very high but let’s go with it for regen style operation), one steer yield around 600,000 calories. So maybe 1 million per acre tops. That means mono crops yield 6 times the calories per acre. So if you transitioned all mono crop land to regen cattle your total calorie production would plummet, many would starve.
@@MaxJones-dj5ub I didn't say all the grain land should be transitioned over. However, my opinion and life experience has shown me grains are not nearly as healthy for humans as what we've been told. Many people have allergies to grains. I consider grains a starvation food. You'll live, but you'll have many health problems. Again, my opinion. You do you. 🙂
Permaculture is more specifically about plants, vegetables, trees and forage. It is also about land contouring and water management. The ideal in permaculture is to create a food forest that is in an ideal balance for perpetual production. Permaculture ideas can be used in farming and animal nurturing to maintain water supplies for the hydrating of the animals and land. Regenerative farming has the focus of using animals to assist and boost (fertilize) the vibrancy of life in the soil and the health of the life above the soil. When regenerative farming is done well for a long time it increases the health of the earth to increase it's ability to hold rainfall and will actually increase the amount of soil in the given area because of the soil health.
Greetings, dear farmers. I see from the comments that you have very big difficulties with the land. I am from Siberia and I have a hobby of breeding horses. I have a lot of land for grazing and making hay. There are tractors and everything necessary for making hay. If any of you really want to start breeding beef cattle, then I can offer you this breeding here in Siberia on partnership terms. Our meat market is experiencing an acute shortage of meat, so this niche can be said to be empty and without competition. On my land areas You can increase the number of broodstock to 3000. Breeds such as Hereford, Galloway, and Angus are suitable for our climate. If you're interested, I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Write to me in the comments
