FORD ESCORT - ROTTEN BACK ARCH - HOW I FIXED IT

Part 6 of the Ford Escort mk4 project, where I dig into the rear nearside wheel arch to see how bad the corrosion actually is.
I show how I repair this without using any new panels, just sheet steel and a mig.

Thanks pal, arch repair section would have been ideal if i was keeping it long term and re-spraying, but this should also last a while

I love the old mk4 escorts but as my dad used to say they were full of the old tin worm. We used have a D plate must of spent a fortune and loads of hours .Cross member out riggers rear wheel arches sills you name it .never ending .

Yeah lots of rust traps on them, hopefully mines is solid now (touch wood) for a bit 😀

When I did the arches on my car I cleaned and de rusted any surface rust on the inside lip rust treated and primed it then coated it with a nice thick bit of brushable seam sealer the stone guard

Yeah thats the plan mate, zinc prime, seam seal then stone chip, 🙂
