Leave the tank in, remove air filter assembly, cooling cowl bolts and do the job through the gap. Use tape on the sharp edges of the cowl to save the blood loss and yes, leave out that bottom bolt, it's a right PIA to get lose. Don't use aftermarket coils, they are junk and won't last a week. Genuine Yamaha only. Coil to flywheel magnet air gap is 0.012"-0.020".

Thanks for the video. I have the same golf cart as you, was wondering if you could answer a question before I replace the coil. I have spark, gas and air. The cart turns over but will not start. I sprayed starter fluid but still no start. Would you happen to know if the coil could be the problem? Thanks

Sounds like it. Make sure your spark plug is gapped correctly. I had the same problem. I stepped on the gas and it just chugged. Didn't move at all. Replaced the coil and now it runs like a top!

Do you havethe mechanic manual for the cart? Make sure you gap the TCI correctly. Also be aware getting off the bottom left nut of the flywheel cover is a real bitch. you need a swivel and extension for your ratchet tool (see :52 secon on vid). when you put the flywheel back on, don't bother replacing this nut!

Out of curiousity, did the coil solve the problem? I bought a 2006 G22 and drove it several miles before I bought it. It ran great. Loaded it onto the trailer and hauled it 75 miles home. It would not start to even back off the trailer. I have spark, gas and air and am now attempting to take the flywheel off to remove/replace the coil.
