I like how Set is essentially like Loki in Egyptian mythology. He gets a bad rep for being a chaotic trickster God and what he did to Osiris, but he still played a role and was worshiped by certain parts of Egypt in the fight against Apep.
They are the same, more than what people realize... The Greeks took over the Egyptians God's and when they didn't have a equivalent many God's names were rewritten and roles were reversed. Especially if you were a female, once the Roman's came around many names were discarded and changed. Even us saying Osiris and Isis are their Greek names not their Egyptian.

this video is super informative and really well put together! i learned so much, but honestly, i find it a bit overwhelming how many gods are involved. like, do we really need so many deities just for different aspects of life? seems a bit excessive to me!
this is just the tip of the iceberg... there are 2000+ deities in Egyptian mythologies, most of them were not very popular or well known. But if you go further back in history, there is the oldest religion, Hinduism. In Hinduism there are 33 primary Gods and countless forms of these Gods make a total of more than 300 million+ deities. Just like ancient Egypt, in today's time, Hindus still worship different Gods across different regions.
10:00 Is that what Aten looks like? Because I look online and Aten only looks like a sun disk? I couldn't find what Aten looks like when you know what Aten looks like.
I wonder if Egypt has a Greek- Roman thing going on with their gods, i keep thinking I’m hearing repeat gods like every animal face god has a human counterpart 😂
It amazes me seeing the line up of Gods, and the theories that justified them. Humans as a race thought they had it figured out. Yet today we still know next to nothing about the universe. Our oceans are 95% unexplored… yet we “know” about creation. It’s very ballsy to say, think, and believe.

I made a comment on the Every Hindu God Explained video that it would be cool if there was a video game set in ancient India where you can adventure throughout India and the player character can get powers from each god and goddess. I would like to see a game set in Ancient Egypt where you can venture through Egypt and gain the powers of each god and goddess. For example, Ra could bestow the ability to temporarily use the power of the sun and Khonsu could temporarily bestow the power of the moon. Ptah could bestow the player to be able to make objects used in gameplay. There are many other gods and goddesses who could give their powers to players. Feel free to comment on what else could be added to a video game set in Ancient Egypt and the gods are a mechanic.
