Notes: - All hives have the same value for that seed - Bees will sometimes go through the ship door so be careful - Ideally have 0 weight when moving the hive to make the most of your stamina
More notes: - They show this in the video but get the hive very close to the ship before finally putting it on the ship, jumping takes a lot of stamina especially if you messed it up and have to jump twice, you need as much stamina as you can get to make the last drop on the ship. - When leaving bees on the side of the ship don’t approach the wall of the ship on that side, they will kill you through the wall. - When playing multiplayer do not hive run with teammates around, like they said if the bees get too far from their hive they will enter permanent attack mode, and this happens a lot if you start running the hive and the bees agro someone else. - Don’t drop the hive facing the wall of the ship, sometimes it puts the hive too close to the wall and the bees can’t get back to it.
There is a very sweaty strategy used in solo runs to get more hives by yourself, up to 4 iirc. (this is off memory so sorry if i get some stuff wrong) and im sure someone knows a better setup for more / more consistent hives. the first hive goes on top of the ship near the back, think where the terminal spawns but above. you have placed it correctly when its value in the bottom right shows up, as if you collected it inside the ship. make sure the bees are aggro on you and kinda close before u bail from the top of the ship, they cant see the hive up there unless u aggro them up there. once they are up there sprint away quickly so they go passive on the hive. 2nd hive on the side / back (careful about the bees above you) 3rd in the other spot you didnt put the 2nd one. e.g. my first hive in back, so this one goes on the long side. the closer to the entrance the better, but no closer than the ladder. 4th goes outside your ship in a spot that you wont accidentally run near. when you want to leave, move the hive close to the front of your ship and get ready with full stamina. once ready, pick up the hive and run towards the entrance to ur ship and drop it before you get inside, make sure its on the ship. you should be able to close the doors and head to the lever. get all stamina back and head out (unless the bees glitch thru the door, if they do send that lever ASAP). be aware as to where your back bees are, they will clip thru the wall and hit you if ur not careful. be ready, after that lever, run forwards and grab the front bee hive, bring it inside any amount and drop it, dont worry if it isnt collected, worry abt that later. next is your side hive, grab it and bring it inside any amount. last is ur back hive, SPRINT FOR IT (sprint for all of them but really try and make it to this last one), all u gotta do is pick it up before u get teleported inside. once u have done all this, bring these 3 hives deep into ur ship and make sure they are all collected, dont rush u have time to do this. all done, +4 hives the last hive ontop the ship? yea ittl be where u left it when u land next. with no bees attached. leave it there if u want. how on earth do I put a bee hive ontop my ship without getting stung or being able to use a ladder? ah yes, well there are 2 spots i know of that let you jump ontop ur ship when ur holding a bee hive. the first is on ur left as u exit the ship, jump on the rail, then the extrusion that pokes out the side of ur ship, then ontop ( you can do this very fast). the other is in the back of the ship and is realy hard. facing the ships door, be on the back left railing, the diagonal one (1:22 the closest rail to them, they jump over it), look at the pipe running along the ship, this is what u r jumping on next. sprint jump forwards, hold forwards and sprint, and spam jump. you should go from the railing to halfway up the ship (on the pipe), then to the top, totalling 2 jumps after already on the rail. this one is bad for bees cuz u arnt moving xz much. how not to get stung? practise the technique in this video and drop the beehive somewhat close to the ship before you put it on the ship. !!always have full stamina before you try jumping on the ship!! if u miss a jump, bail and run with ur remaining sprint, better to live and try again. later. any questions?
I find it kinda hilarious how bees will go total apeshit mode when they lose their home (which is understandable really), and they are like "Ok mothafucka you ded" once they find some poor crewmate that totally wasn't set up by his colleagues. I hope that when the game will become more updated, this state of bees could be used against other monsters. Would be an awesome risk mechanic where you intentionally leave a deadly swarm outside that will hunt you down relentlessly if they find you, but they would also attack on sight eyeless dogs and baboon hawks, forcing either of them to flee or even kill them. They'd also distract a giant by electrocuting him for a solid minute until he'd eventually swat them, eliminating them.
Yeah, the good way to have means to defend yourself would be for the game to allow you to use hazards and traps on your favor, if there was a way to make monsters step on landmines of have the crewmate in the ship set them off remotely with the monster near it, same with turrets, that could be cool too, that would mean theres still a high risk of things going really bad but if done right it can be a big life saver, just having more weapons would ruin the survival horror aspect of the game. However i would like if the creatures all had a specific loot too, one idea i had was to have a cryogenic grenade, which would be expensive and potentially harmfull to youtself if used incorrectly, but the main usage would be to throw it at a bracken and break it with a shovel, this way he would drop frozen parts of his body that would normally desintegrate in an instant, which is the reason given by the creature log that theres a lit unknown about his biology, because attempts at studyinghis remains result in just having a pile of ash. But his frozen bits could be sold for a significant value, although one would need to consider the price of the cryo grenade used to get it in the first place.
Honestly, based on your description, you could also look at it as using the giant against the bees. I love monster interactions (especially hostile ones) in games, I feel like they give the game a sense of realism and create a lot of potential for funny memorable moments.
This is by far the best guide I've ever seen with 20 hours of hiverunning, I'm still learning and even some of the advice shown in this video is what I had recently realized for myself (the best jump spots for every moon) I'll definitely come back to this guide if I ever forget any key advice!
The thing about homeless bees is that they're visible literally across the map. Yeah you can't run away from them unless you can get to the building or something, but if you get caught by the roaming bees it's because you weren't paying attention (or someone who wasn't paying attention brought them to you). Honestly if there's a hive that's far from the ship I'd rather run the hive into the building to get the bees to screw off than do 6 rounds of the baiting / sprinting thing.
My thought was for an insulated suit that reduced electrical damage. Could make you take reduced Circuit Bee damage and maybe even survive a single bolt of lightning.
You can put bees on top of the ship with a fairly easy setup and it auto counts them so you can get more bees than you’d normally have time for. You can also grab one before you take off and close the door behind you for extra time. Also if bees are chasing you and detached from the hive you can loop them around a tree or rock until you regain stamina (it’s super easy to do I found it on accident) and then lead them back to the hive which will reattach them.
Would be cool if Zeekers added a special place on the ship to safely store up to 3-4 beehives before starting the ship, and when you fly into orbit, the bees die for obvious reasons or get left behind on the moon because they can't keep up. Like a beekeeper sort of. Then when you reenter orbit, you quickly have to get them off the place and store them into the ship before other bees get in (Last one is optional)
Another tip, beehives register as being in the ship even if they are on top of the ship. You can easily get a beehive on top of the ship by going to the right of the ship entrance, jumping over the railing, and then parkourinf to the top of the ship
If you fail the jump or for any other reason can't make it onto the walkway where you want it, you may still be able to get the hive on it by looking up and dropping it while close to the railing. It will often just barely catch on the walkway and then you can recover it normally.
You makin' thing pretty fast and informative, that's cool. Also, ain't they count even when on back of ship? I remember we had it leaven out of inside ship, and left it in back, and it still was there. Maybe it was bug?..
When there is someone inside the ship and drop the nest outside in the railing the bees will attack the dude for some reason even if it has a wall, if he comes after you droped it is fine though
Somehow it only just occured to me that they're specifically circuit bees so that they'd be able to zap you to death through the suit. If they were normal bees they wouldn't even be able to sting you let alone kill you.

how come even though i put beehive on the back of the ship, they still go all they way around to the front and inside the ship, killing me and my friends
