UPDATE: I JUST GOT A WII U HOOKED UP AND IT'S CHARGING THE GAMEPAD. IF IT LETS ME ON, I'M GOING TO TRY TO FINALLY BEAT WHY ARE YOU STEALING FROM RUINS BEFORE THE SHUTDOWN
I couldn't figure out how to include it but the old Carl vs Poo videos are some of my favorite memories as well, here's a spicy one: ua-cam.com/video/J_IROKZA4Y8/v-deo.html

I've only been watching you for like 8 years now definitely not nostalgic
I dropped out after 7th and most my nights were League of Legends, Chef Boyardee, and Mario Maker
Now I'm like an adult or something
Ive moved myself thru 3 different states in that time

I loved the troll where there was a clear trap with a fire mushrom inside it. But the opening where pointing in the direction you where suposed to go. So there didn´t look like there where any way to go inside it without doing it by purpose. Then the level forced you to go back and tricked Carl to enter the cage.

Just saw this on my feed, wanted to share a memory. Back in high school I would stay up till like 2am watching your mario maker videos. Idk why but I found them very very relaxing, and I would pass out watching em. Great times. I would do it like every night haha. Other than that I never had any interest in mario maker really, I do have the game but didnt play it much. I watched more for the personality rather than just the game. That was atleast 6-7 years ago now. Time flies.

Man, watching Carl's MM1 videos was my guilty pleasure through college. So many good memories watching the hot garbage runs, the Carl vs. Poo challenge, ALL the troll levels, the amazing level clears, the science talks, and so many more amazing videos. I found you through 360Chrism back in 2016, when I was watching his stream and he encountered a ridiculously hard puzzle level that killed his 100 Mario run. Later, someone in his Discord linked your video beating it. I watched it and was amazed by its sheer difficulty, but happy that it got beat. Got recommended more of your videos as a result and, well, here we are. Thanks for all the amazing Mario Maker content over the years, Carl! I downloaded all my favorites levels before shutdown (2 among them are from you). I was very active on SMM1 on my side as well, but SMM2 didn't reach my expectations. The fact they remove Amibo power-ups, 100 Mario Challenge and the internet site for bookmarks, i have to say I was disappointed a little bit, even for a so great game and all communities it created around the world.
My favorite memories in MM1 is a level I created (not necessary a good one but with a lot of mechanics I discovered by myself), has been played by a youtuber with more than one million subscribers, and got viral for a while. Some players shared it to other youtubers, but one of them is now a friend of mine 🙂

The first video I ever watched was you playing through Mecha Bowzilla, (I was 11 then, I hit 18 last October, time flies), and I've been devouring your content since. I'm so glad this game came out and I love the community that has spawned; even though I'm not an active participant, watching from the sidelines has been an absolute joy. It's been almost 8 years since then. Thank you for the many many hours of joy you've brought to my life, and for sending me on a path to eventually discover every single other video game youtuber in one way or another. Thank you for all the years, and I look forward to many more.

Carl, thank you for almost a decade of entertainment, laughter, and great content memories. One of my favorite SMM1 moments outside of this video was the level Barb sent to Carl that was just 4 rows of invisible blocks and one magikoopa. RIP SMM1, gone but not forgotten.

As many others have mentioned, I started watching very early in the MM1 days and taking these strolls down memory lane have been a delight and only a little bit sad. Thanks for all the incredible content Carl!

Thanks for all the content - I found out about Mario Maker and its community through you and its been alot of fun years. Even if it shuts down now the saga continues on with Romhacks and MM2

I never comment on videos, but i just wanted to thank you for all the memories! Started watching around 2015-2016 when you were playing Seanhips puzzle levels, and i never stopped watching! To see the whole troll level journey, from hot garbage to the most amazing levels ever made, is something I'll never forget. On to MM3 (hopefully) ❤

Looking back at it, playing Mario maker and watching your videos (especially the puzzle videos) are what inspired me to buy MM2 on the switch and start making puzzle levels myself, which in turn inspired me to even make my own puzzle game. Thank you for all the awesome memories over the years!

I remember being obsessed with finding the HARDEST MM1 level back then, and I came across pit of pePanga skyzo. I wanted to beat the level myself so I looked up completion videos to get familiar with the level. That is where I found someone who was energetic, funny and popped off really freaking hard when beating the level. Thank you Carl. I hold a tremendous amount of respect for you.

Watching you play MM1 troll levels was the most entertaining experience back then. I’d find myself staying up way later than I should have, laughing my sorry butt off, and replaying the best moments over and over. These days I’m trying harder to manage my time a little better so I don’t catch as many recaps, but I’ll never forget all the fun you and your evil friends gave me. Thank you so much for the smiles and memories.

Thank you for all the years, SMM1. There have been too many things that I loved to see you play Carl but the puzzle level with two identical screens on top of one another where you must eventually use both to solve the level is a memory I've been keeping in my head for a while. Don't remember if it was actually from the first game though or its name. Let's see that SMM3 and actually 3D troll levels, imagine ALL the jank that would come from an extra dimension!

Got into watching MM because of you. The last time I fired up my wiiu was to make you a 1 screen puzzle. The solution… hit the hidden block in the top of the screen. Glad that one never saw the light of day, and glad I still watch your vids 8 years later 😅

I may not keep up with the Mario Maker community as much nowadays but I watched a ton of these back when they first came out. The GDQ showcases in particular always blew me away. I think my favorite MM1 memory is seeing you play 7 Troly pieces, that was the first time my mind was completely shattered by how far someone could take a troll

It's insane how nostalgic I'm getting over Mario Maker 1. I didn't own a Wii U so I only watched videos and livestreams of the game until Mario Maker 2, but that didn't stop me from being a fan. It's sad to see it go but I'll forever cherish the memories it gave me

Mario Maker has been around since 2015. Crazy how long it's been out. Watching these made me get a Wii U and the game and make levels. I still have the entire box with the book and everything that came with it. It is in my collection of Nintendo games. These videos are the best, I liked the single screen puzzle levels, those are my favorite videos.

Tbh its still kinda unbelievable that MM1 is ending. I had so many fun times and so many laughing with Carl and his MM1 levels. I know there is much incredible troll opportunities in MM2 too but some things like overlaying Pipes will never be the same like it was in MM1. Thank you for your wonderful videos Carl and have a great one ^^

This compilation brought up so many memories. First watched you during your 'One More' levels, and have been watching since. People forget that you actually can play this game a little, I nickname you ThaCarl721 for those levels. Gonna miss all the overlaid pipes, Seanhip puzzles, flying cannons, moving thwomps, and just overall genius that this community displayed. MM2 may be a better, more polished game, but there's just something about MM1 that 2 will never have. Through Carl I discovered Barb, Beast, Poo, Panga, and so many other streamers. RIP MM1 you legend

Carl playing Super Mario Maker and making Fly Me To The Stars made me connect with the core of my childhood. It also made me remember why Nintendo is the best videogame company.
Super Mario Maker is a piece of art. It brought to life the dreams of many people, me included, who always wanted to make their own Mario levels. And man, most of us really suck at it.
But the flowing content of the multiple streamers of this AWESOME community keeps the spark of creativity alive, to this day and beyond.
    Thank you so much, dude.
