• Chibi-Robo Retrospective
As great as Nintendo is, they sure do neglect a lot of their franchises. Metroid, Star Fox, Paper Mario, all of these have been mishandled by Nintendo in one way or another. However, one series that I feel has gotten it the worst is definitely Chibi-Robo. What started out as a pretty unique adventure game on the Nintendo Gamecube, quickly faded into obscurity with its future releases on the DS and 3DS. So, why don’t we pay tribute to the little robot by taking a look at all of the games that he’s starred in over the years, starting with the underrated Gamecube classic that started it all: Chibi-Robo Plug into Adventure and ending with the infamous Chibi-Robo Zip Lash!

they really need to remaster the original chibi-robo for switch so it can get a second chance and better sequels XD

4:15-4:42 actually, you can buy the second time extender (Timer 15) as early as the first in game night aka right after you finish the opening sequence.
It's so inexpensive that it's a no-brainer, too. I was confused by this complaint.

This video was pretty good! You should do more videos on forgotten Nintendo series like Sin & Punishment, Wario Land, Custom Robo, and Kid Icarus after you finish this series!
Thanks! That honestly means a lot to me. Definitely going to be doing a series on all those franchises eventually. Sin & Punishment is one I've been meaning to get to for AGES now.

Hey man, just wanna give my deepest thanks for creating this trilogy of videos. Chibi Robo: PIA is my favorite game of all time and the original GameCube game means a lot to me, having been in the middle of my parents divorcing while I was playing this as a young boy. Your videos and the commenters attached to them reminded me that I'm not the only one who loved this game and that's so cool, for such an obscure little title. I wanted to make a video just like this about a year ago but got cold feet, so seeing your trilogy made me really happy. You really did these games justice, and even if we never get another game from SKIP, I feel like because of the hard work you put into these videos, the spirit of the studio and of these Chibi Robo games will never die and people will continue to learn about/play these games for the first time and fall in love. I could write a book about how much I adore this little robot, but I'll leave it at that LOL.

My brother used to play this demo at Walmart every time and even when Mom agreed to get him the game we couldn't find it for a long time. That kid was so happy to finally get it and he stans ChibiRobo to this day.😂

While Nintendo has forgotten about it, fans of the little robot have made this game a cult classic. It's a lot more popular now than when the games were releasing. It finally got what it deserved, it's too bad Nintendo doesn't see that though.
2005 was a really underrated year for gaming
So were 1999 and 2000, there were tons of games for aging consoles with impressive graphics for the systems and experimental gameplay that fell under the radar due to new consoles releasing
I never played any of the games in the series, but watching this video makes me now hope they re-release it on the Switch so the series can finally get some recognition and I can play it for the first time. I think It's possible especially after Nintendo's gone through through main lineup on the Switch's library. Have a good night and I'll see you in the next one!

WFT?! A Wii Rerelease that's Japan only?! I would kill for that opportunity! My dumb 10 year old ass traded the original in to GameStop when I got bored with it, and I've regretted it ever since.
Oof, that's a shame. Especially since a copy of the original game is fairly rare nowadays.

Thank you for spreading the word about this beautiful game, it really is a shame how dirty Nintendo did chibi-robo, I played the original as a child and let’s just say it holds a special place inside my heart, the art style, music, and gameplay was remarkable for the time. I just wish other people had the same chance to experience this masterpiece
They just announced another Paper Mario Game for the Switch.
I think the series was fated to "If it does not sell well in Japan, it ain't going to sell here" syndrome which led to NoA hamstring it's potential
If they kept the games like the original, the franchise probably would have done better.
They actually did try and go back to the original formula with one of the games. But, we'll get to that one once we get to it. :)

@@Jakstalgia The good news the creator of Chibi Robo made an RPG called Moon: Remix RPG Adventure. He even stated that he wants to make a sequel.
I don’t think it’s Nintendo’s fault. It’s probably more than just Nintendo wanting it to fail. I don’t think they want any of their games to fail. The music and composer was awesome. I wish I could have played it. Hopefully they release it to the Switch. Metroid and Paper Mario The Origami King is on the way.
It is certainly Nintendo's fault.
1. They released the first game at the end of a failed console's life. (hardly any marketing in NA and EU)
2. They re released that same game with motion controls for the far more successful Wii. Guess what? It's Japan exclusive.
3. When they did release another Chibi Robo, this time on DS, it had no marketing AND was only sold at Walmart. A store not known for expansive library of games for sale and more for groceries and household items.
4. Another Japan exclusive game where it did have a good feel of the original and had marketing... in JAPAN only!
5. They had a non game that's more of an app but that hardly did anything.
6. Chibi Robo Zip Lash is the sin of Chibi Robo as Nintendo pulled a Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz and held it hostage that its future hinges on Zip Lash which had no marketing and is a generic 2d platform for a system where at 2015 was already oversaturated with 2d platformers.
Nintendo's sins against Chibi Robo: No marketing for NA and EU, having most games and the rerelease only for Japan who did get marketing, releasing a generic platformer to compete against dozens of other 2d platformers.
@@balfanghellfire there is always a reason. It’s good to do research before pointing the finger to understand it better. I don’t have all the info so I try not to be in the judgemental side so easily but hey you can have your opinion.

Well, Paper Mario is getting another chance...with a mixture of new game art style and battle with old game art style and battle. Should at least be interesting.
If it doesn't sell, its not worth it. Nintendo is super annoying with that.
Personally, I can't see a timeline where Chibi-Robo ever found a big audience. It's kind of just a weird game with inherently niche appeal. I can't really blame Nintendo for not really making the effort in the western market.
