your comment makes me feel old, but the original Chibi-Robo is in my top 10 favorite games of all time too. This game is so underrated. It's Japanese Toy Story!! It's got a nice feedback loop like Animal Crossing and The Sims with routines but it's got the humor akin to Earthbound ITS SO GOOOOOOOD!!!!!

And like Sticker Star, Ziplash had a few notable flaws in it’s execution such as the fact that you couldn’t freely choose which stage you play until after you beat all the stages in a world.
such a great game that deserves a port or new game on switch. Franchise deserved much better than 3 games and one being a mediocre/ bad 3ds side scrolling game.
This, among other things like Gotcha Force and Baten Kaitos, was one of the many weird games my little brother brought home from time to time. Turns out he had an eye for those things, because while he eventually lost interest in gaming, I certainly spent tons of hours enjoying all those games. Thanks, brother! As for Chibi Robo itself: I never beat it. I remember playing and enjoying it a lot because there was always something to find and do, but since kid-me never used guides, actually getting anywhere before any amount of time passed seemed impossible. I do remember eventually finding that huge robot boi and I definitely remember progressing the divorce situation until the mother locked herself away and the daughter kinda went crazy (which terrified young me btw). It's one of those games I remember fondly despite never getting anywhere. A true childhood experience.

Hello! Self-proclaimed leader of the Chibi-Robo Fan Club, here! I just wanted to say thank you for giving this game some much needed love and spotlight! What I love so much about it is that it can be experienced in whichever way you please. If you're trying to fully complete a single objective in a single character's storyline, you're gonna run into that problem of waiting for the day or night to pass, first. But if you just go about the entire house and interact with as many people as you can within a single day or night cycle, you'll find yourself with endless stuff to do. Think of it along the lines of Persona 5. Rather than spending time with only a single character, you'll wanna spread your time around with everyone you can. It's like raising children. You don't just focus on one of them and keep the others on the sidelines until your firstborn goes off to college. You wanna interact with all of them, as frequently as possible. Advancing the stories all at once, rather than one at a time. As for the sequels.... I am sad. Park Patrol was ok, but was heavily limited due to being on the DS, and to being a Walmart exclusive (as far as I know, the only reason they did that was to bundle it with real life flower seeds, which I guess would be too weird to do at GameStop or Toys R Us.) I just recently played through Clean Sweep (the Japanese exclusive title) for the very first time, thanks to an fan translation! And I'm both thrilled and heartbroken to say that it's without question the best sequel Chibi-Robo ever got. And of course America never got it. Not only that, but they released the game mere days after announcing it, AND they released it within mere days of the Wii port of the original game! All of that, on top of being Japanese exclusive, both of them sold very poorly, when they were by far the games with the most potential. And then there's Photo Finder and Zip-Lash..... and I hurt. Chibi-Robo encompasses everything I love about the GameCube. It was absolutely fearless and tried so many outlandish ideas that Nintendo wouldn't dare attempt to do, nowadays. And not just for their flagship titles. From their more obscure properties, to completely original IP's. The GameCube was just magical... And Chibi-Robo was the embodiment of all that magic. Chibi-Robo: Plug Into Adventure remains as the best game I've ever played and I wish more than anything else that Nintendo gave it the proper treatment and recognition it deserves. A re-release of the original game NEEDS to happen! Unfortunately, most of the employees of Skip Ltd. have gone on to pursue other things. So I have little to no hope in any sort of sequel in the future that can capture the pure and utter magic of the original. The company itself is sort of in an unknown state, at the moment. After the release of Zip-Lash, any and all updates to their website or social media accounts just seised, entirely. Apparently they're called Skip inc. now, but the only reason we even know that is because of the Smash Ultimate credits. I guess only time will tell. The reveal of the Chibi-Robo Mii costume gave me such a chaotic mix of joy and heartbreak. Not only that, but Chibi-Robo was the very first spirit introduced to us in the Final Smash Direct. If the ARMS rep ends up being a character that's already a spirit or Mii Costume in Smash Ultimate, my hope for Chibi's inclusion in Smash will be reignited, once again. Honestly, if there's anyone who can save Chibi-Robo at this point, it's Sakurai. I sincerely hope we'll get to see him again, one day. Chibi-Robo NEEDS to be experienced by everyone. More importantly, it needs to be EASILY AVAILABLE to everyone. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. There've been a lot of miracle revivals in the video game industry, lately. Here's hoping Chibi-Robo will one day join them in this new generation. 2:15 I always heard it as "Don't leave me" 5:17 That's actually effected by whether or not you're mashing the A button during the charging segments. This is easily still one of my favorite games of all time, I adore the first three games and it will always hurt that it’s been neglected as of late. If nothing else i do appreciate the mii costume in ultimate as an, albeit small, nod that it still exists.
This game is weirdly my most nostalgic despite Ocarina of Time being the first game I've ever played and one I've played the most. I've always loved the original Chibi-Robo and I even played Park Patrol on the DS when I saw it at WalMart as a kid. I miss this series, I hope it gets revitalized in some (GOOD) way
"They made a handful of games, they garnered a quite a decent sized fan base and it's like they never cared" An accurate representation of the Starfy franchise
I keep forgetting that this is a Nintendo franchise because of how little that they care about it. Honestly, if Chibi-Robo were created and owned by a different company, we'd surely see a lot more done with it.
I'm probably the only one who has never heard of chibi robo so this should be both informative and entertaining especially since its coming from one of the funniest youtubers I know aka abstruse who is still pushing out videos faster than I can come out of quarantine.
Please cover the two DS games too someday! (not the 3DS ones since both suck though) Chibi-Robo Park Patrol is a very cute spinoff, but the Japan-exclusive DS game is actually a full-on sequel to the original! It's received a fantranslation very recently, calling it "Chibi-Robo Clean Sweep." It is criminal that so little people actually know about it, especially since a sequel to the original is exactly what people have been begging for from the series for so long!
As a fan of Toy Story I really loved the stories in the game and atmosphere. It's a shame this is still underrated and overlooked it's really enjoyable for the 10 year old in me.
As a complete newcomer to the Chibi-Robo series, seeing the wacky style of basically everything in this game, I gotta say... *_This game blows!....._* me away with its unique(?) looks.
Well actually Chibi Robo was ported to "new control" in japan, but sadly, japanese language only. beside controllers, no idea if they added more content
About the timer thing, not only can you get pyjamas about half way through the game, but at any point if you know that you’re just going to be waiting, you can just switch to a 5 minute timer then switch back
This is literally my favorite game of all time and I never see anyone talk about it except Scott the Woz... Thank you for this upload, and in my birthday month too!
Gotcha Force next? It's a combat gacha-style game. And was on the GameCube, so not a pay to unlock stuff, nor pay to remove cooldowns. It's a pretty good game, so long as you don't let the older version(s?) stack overflow. Or did you already cover Gotcha Force? A Gotcha Force remaster on the Switch would be awesome!! … Uh, assuming that the special character(s?) (that you originally had to go to a japan-only event (and had to bring your GameCube memory card with you) to acquire.) are obtainable in the base game (or even bonus DLC levels)…
Antdude should review a game called zack and wiki the quest for barbaros treasure it's an underrated wii game which apparently did well and was developed by capcom I've beaten the game my self and let me tell you I had a blast playing it . It was challenging and fun at the same time and really makes you think about what will you do next and in what order
oh my god yes!!! i loved that game honestly the most memorable capcom game on the wii to me and had so much charm as well(basically being wind waker meets megaman legends.:3) and its on a list of capcom series i want to see capcom focus on(since they have interest in bringing back older franchises like rival schools, dino crisis, and viewtiful joe.) while giving resident evil and especially street fighter a break.
The N64 (+ DD), GBA, and DS are also goldmines for those weird & experimental Nintendo games. Gotta love Skip & Vanpool who helped keep that weirdness alive from Love-De-Lic.
Custom Robo was acknowledged? Holy shit. Even if it's not one of the most noteworthy franchises, better it be forgotten than be forced into having arbitrary gimmicks; motion control bullshit or god knows what else. The three games in it(64, BR, and Arena) were all fun as hell in their own merits, too.
Before I got into gaming, Chibo-Robo was one of the few games I remember existing while it was coming out, especially during the time it had ads on Nick Magazine. It had a bookmark on it, and I used it a lot in school, so I just remember the character very well. I always thought Chibo-Robo was cute, even if I didn't know that was the right way to put it.
AmethystLeslie Do you remember if it was a Park Patrol bookmark (green with flowers)? I’ve been cataloging all the Chibi Robo merch, so I’d be really interested to know if it’s a bookmark we’ve never seen before!
@@fliksie361 It was more periwinkle-colored, and I remember it having the game's logo, the Gamecube logo (and most likely Nintendo's logo), and a render of Chibi-Robo holding his plug over his head, which I remember the most. I've used it so much that, unfortunately, I'm positive I threw it out due to wear and tear.
My Dad's friend gave me a bunch of their old GameCube games, and Chibi Robo was one of them. I still think this game looks adorable. I never got very far, but it was still cute.
chibi robo is so good! ive been a big fan of the series from the beginning. i even liked zip-lash... not as much, but i did like it. collecting the snacks was fun.
I know right? It was never going to be capable of maintaining a franchise, and for a Nintendo title it was kind of rough presentation wise, but I enjoyed it a lot.
The video kept continuously crashing between the 9:00 and 10:00 minute mark! It’s happening consistently no matter how many times I re-load it and time skip back to that part, it will end up crashing again!?!? Has anyone else had this happen to them?
10:38 during the montage of games, the one that feels most underrated and under appreciated is Custom Robo. Absolute gem of a game, especially the battle system and customization (pun intended lol) for your robot. Would love to see a new entry someday or even a remaster for switch. If online multiplayer could he implemented somehow, I can see it really doing good.
It's always worth it to get the 15 minute day/night cycle because you get the pajamas pretty early on so you can just use those to skip to the next section if you really don't have anything else to do.
Another part of the charm is the depth the toys go into in this game you help with divorce, depression, death of a parent, addiction, ptsd. All ending happily, but a lot of serious stuff all given a cutesy charm
One thing I notice is that the pan falling after charging usually occurs when I charge too frequently or when I recharge without letting the battery drain. Could be a coincidence .
When I first played this game I was just a kid and didn't understand much of what was going on. Every discovery was fresh and surprising, and every time I went back to it I kept finding things that surprised me. I think this game may have been the catalyst for my love of open-world games
I never played this game myself, but I used to watch other people play it a lot so it’s a very nostalgic game for me. I love the wackiness and weirdness of this oddly endearing game so much
Chibi-Robo is the game I got as a kid and didn't really understand the appeal until many hours into it (even though I never finished it). For some reason, I eventually just had a blast doing the most mundane things in the game like picking up trash and cleaning dirt off the floor. It's a game I do hold close to my heart, but again bizarrely never finished.
I absolutely loved this game as a kid. Even if I didn't understand completely what was going on, it was so much fun to explore this big ass, Toy Story-esque world.
The pan falls on your head when you press the button too early before your charging animation is finished. I interpreted it as a message to you as the player to calm down, stop spamming buttons, and enjoy the game in a non-rushed way.

I keep forgetting that this is a Nintendo franchise because of how little that they care about it. Honestly, if Chibi-Robo were created and owned by a different company, we'd surely see a lot more done with it.
Cri Cat no
It isn't created nor owned by Nintendo. It is property of Skip and they could have released it on a different console but they just never did.
I'm probably the only one who has never heard of chibi robo so this should be both informative and entertaining especially since its coming from one of the funniest youtubers I know aka abstruse who is still pushing out videos faster than I can come out of quarantine.
Who care about your opinion ?

Please cover the two DS games too someday! (not the 3DS ones since both suck though)
Chibi-Robo Park Patrol is a very cute spinoff, but the Japan-exclusive DS game is actually a full-on sequel to the original!
Chibi-Robo ate a substantial portion of my childhood.
As a complete newcomer to the Chibi-Robo series, seeing the wacky style of basically everything in this game, I gotta say...
*_This game blows!....._* me away with its unique(?) looks.
Bruh.
Chibi-Robo is my favorite game of all time, and I'm glad you covered it.
I remember playing this game with my friend back in 2007 and I had a blast with it. I love everything about this game. One of my favorites
Within 30 seconds you've ripped the only thoughts I have about this series directly out of my brain.
Jenny thinks she’s a frog?
she must be around the froggy chair
can’t blame her.
Well actually Chibi Robo was ported to "new control" in japan, but sadly, japanese language only. beside controllers, no idea if they added more content
I always thought this game looked fun as a kid, though I never got around to playing it. C'mon Nintendo, give us a Switch port!
6:09 Oh, so THAT'S where the 'yes' meme comes from...
Huh, so I didn't imagine this as a kid.
About the timer thing, not only can you get pyjamas about half way through the game, but at any point if you know that you’re just going to be waiting, you can just switch to a 5 minute timer then switch back
*Chibi robot got forgotten by Nintendo*
F zero: join the club
Star fox: I'll dig your grave for you
Waluigi: *wait you guys got games?*
This is literally my favorite game of all time and I never see anyone talk about it except Scott the Woz... Thank you for this upload, and in my birthday month too!
“The robot that could” until Nintendo “lashed” (Ik I’m so funny) that piece of trash we call Chibi-Robo ziplash
Yosh065 Yeah. I think that everyone who truly hated it was just lashing out at the fact that it was 2D.
Yosh065 well A$$hole it’s called an opinion. No one ever said you had to agree with me.
I would be lying if I said I havent completed this game at least 10 times
Yet another franchise Nintendo left in the dust .
Yep.
It’s just proof that unless it’s Mario, Zelda, or Pokémon(AKA their big moneymakers), Nintendo doesn’t care about a lot of their franchises.
I thought that Chibi-robo was an electronics mascot from a tv advertisement. Please don’t hurt me.
My favorite game!
I'm glad you reviewed this game!
Petition to get a dykg video on chibi-robo with AntDude
10:33 You had to say it, man. Now you're gon' get it.
(INSERT KIRBY MUSIC)... Ha!
Chibi-Robo looked absolutley adorable.
YEAH!
That Eternal Darkness hurt me. If childhood trauma had scars.
I actually came early in an Antude video? Nice!
Hope to see your Partners in Time video!
I used to spend hours just exploring the house. What a great game.
Now can you please review Fling Smash with Scott The Woz?
The N64 (+ DD), GBA, and DS are also goldmines for those weird & experimental Nintendo games. Gotta love Skip & Vanpool who helped keep that weirdness alive from Love-De-Lic.
THIS NEEDS TO GET A SWITCH PORT
True
@@foxmccloud9106 a gamer of taste I see
I think every Gamecube game that has not had a remake needs to be on the switch.
I love seeing more coverage about Chibi Robo! Easily in my top 5 favorite games.. It hurts that Billy Hatcher got the same treatment too ):
Just like Scott the wozz would say “This game blows”
Custom Robo was acknowledged? Holy shit. Even if it's not one of the most noteworthy franchises, better it be forgotten than be forced into having arbitrary gimmicks; motion control bullshit or god knows what else.
The three games in it(64, BR, and Arena) were all fun as hell in their own merits, too.
32 seconds ago? Woah, I clicked fast (also second)
Thank you for covering this game! It’s one of my favorite games of all time and it makes me happy to see it get some attention.

0:04 chibi music
Someone ported most of the Chibi Robo map into VRChat and included the Freakin wall rooms. They’re so much scarier when you’re in VR.
chibi robo is so good! ive been a big fan of the series from the beginning. i even liked zip-lash... not as much, but i did like it. collecting the snacks was fun.
Omg, somebody acknowledged the existence of Geist
I know right? It was never going to be capable of maintaining a franchise, and for a Nintendo title it was kind of rough presentation wise, but I enjoyed it a lot.
The video kept continuously crashing between the 9:00 and 10:00 minute mark! It’s happening consistently no matter how many times I re-load it and time skip back to that part, it will end up crashing again!?!?
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
10:39
Yo I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers Doshi and the gaint
Scott the Woz loves 'Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash' for the 3DS.
About the waiting: There are costumes in order to skip the entire day which should make that part of the game a lot more manageable
Chibo-Robo is easily one of my favorite games of all time
Wow, I JUST got the pun of the Free Rangers being "Free Range" eggs....
Fun fact the pan that hits you when you plug in is something that happens when you refuse to save over and over again.
This specific game in particular... that opening music!! Haven't played this game in years, but holy moly the nostalgia HIT
13 YEARS !!! That i din't touch this game !!!
So i am probably gonna get a real nostalgia trip !!!
0:30 oh boy was i expecting a sudden cut to the clip "this game blows" from scott the woz🤣
When I first played this game I was just a kid and didn't understand much of what was going on. Every discovery was fresh and surprising, and every time I went back to it I kept finding things that surprised me. I think this game may have been the catalyst for my love of open-world games
FINALLY someone else is covering this series. Thank you so much for bringing the fanbase to light!
I never played this game myself, but I used to watch other people play it a lot so it’s a very nostalgic game for me. I love the wackiness and weirdness of this oddly endearing game so much
i remember playing Chibi-Robo Park Patrol for DS when I was a kid and I loved it. I'll have to give this game a shot just for nostalgia sake
I saw F-Zero GX and now I'm crying...
Thank you for the wonderful content!
