Love the backsplash in your kitchen, as well as the various wall decorations you have added atop the kitchen cabinets and in the sala. Kudos to Wilma for being on top of due dates. She seems like a very organized person. Or at the very least very involved. You guys definitely deserve a nice relaxing lunch after a stressful morning of vehicle reregistration. Imagine how much all of that would have costed in a Western country. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hi, Greg. The 4 wheels don't take precedence. What's happening is there's only a number of motorcycles that a testing center can process at a certain time, so that central data center in Manila will not see the red flags.

Great video - thx for sharing. Prices seem to just be inflating really quickly as I'm noticing from only just 1 year past. They made a change when purchasing a new scoot type to 3 years REG & Ins which is nice - I believe vehicles also changed. Do you have a separate insurance coverage - 3rd party to cover your bike and truck? Possibly another vid you can make.
I believe the 3 year is for a new scooter. After the 3 years it goes to yearly, as I undertake it. We only have liability insurance on the scooter. The truck we have full coverage through Mitsubishi.

I’m going to the local KTM dealer, tomorrow, to look at their selection of bikes and scooters (several brands). Good information to file away, for when I need to register whatever I end up buying.
Great news about the glasses! I’ll be needing a new pair in a couple months, and didn’t know if I should get them in the States, when I return at the end of February, or wait until I’m here, permanently, in June. 🤔

Yeah, we bought the most expensive lenses we can get. If we got the normal lenses for Wilmas prescription, it would be $75.
We have a service here that picks up our vehicles Toyota, Mercedes, and Honda scooter at our home and does everything and drops off vehicles at home. We prefer to insurance privately so pass on insurance at motor vehicles and in insurance privately.

Wow..... Glasses there are really cheap. I know you know Greg that getting them over here in the US is very expensive. I know when I go in (I only need readers) it will cost me an arm and a leg. When the wife and I retire we will relocate there to the Philippines. My wife is a Filipina born and raised there and she has been showing me the ins and outs of how things work there. I love it there already, I've been there 2 times already for about a month each time and I'm planning to go again in probably the second week of December for another month. One of the best things about the Philippines that I enjoy, is the slow pace of things and the heat. I'm looking forward to my retirement there, (but I still gotta have my hot water).😂

Yes. I did my car, so the price was different than yours for the scooter.

The inspection prices here are going up. It was 21$ now its 50$ for cars and 100$ for trucks.
And registration is crazy expensive now too

Over here in Commiefornia my 2001 Harley registration was around $220 , my 05 F150 around $350 plus around $50 for the smog exam which is every other year. When i lived in Western NY back in 78,79 my car registration was $25-$30
Amazing on how the prices for everything keeps going up there. All the taxes and fees, must add up to 60 to 70% of your salary.

You need to find a fixer there in your area and see if he can help you. Probably be fines since registration is 3 years expired. Need proper registration or they won't allow the motorbike to get on a ferry to move to another island. Are you originally from NY. If so what part.

Emission test joke. Another Philippine rip off (tax). As if ANY of the old trucks. vans ,and cars would ever pass a legit test.
I agree, everybody passes. Some of the old cars smoking away as they back in to be tested.
If everyone passes, there's gonna be a payoff guy around there somewhere to get in and out in minutes. Just a quick wink, nod, and a stamp the paperwork. I would lose my last nerve if I kept getting scooped by cars and trucks, and foreigners. What an unfair system.
Kind of like the metal detector at the mall. I walk through with a watch, belt, change in my pocket etc and it never beeps.
